Please I'm soliciting for advice on this sensitive case pls no insult please I have cried enough for been such a careless mother

I just noticed this evening that my 3 years old daughter's vagina hole is totally closed like a healed wound after her caregiver told me in school today that she has been scratching the place lately and suggested I check her. How come I didn't notice at home and she never complained is astonishing

I didn't give birth to her with a closed vagina ooo I'm totally scattered as I type. I've never heard of such all my life. I'm taking her to the clinic but I need ideas pls. Has anyone heard of this before? How was it managed?

Ejoor nor Waka pass mamas I just need information on the name of such a condition and how it can be managed so I can confidently follow the doctors up make Dem nor go damage the place. My head is spinning

First of all, don't be too hard on yourself mama. You need to pull yourself together, and try to find out all you can about the situation. Read online, ask medical friends as well. But my advice is to take her to the hospital ASAP.

Hello mothers in the house .. I am a first time mom .my baby is 10 days old today. He has practically refused to suckle. If I put breast in his mouth he will shout and struggle to remove it . But if I express it inside feeding bottle he will take it without hassle . This is making me worried and am seeing some signs of postpartum depression in me. Each time he refuses my breast it breaks my heart and I will just sit down and be crying .. someone pls help me I DNT know what else to do

Don't give up mama. Your situation is the same as mine. My baby will be 8 weeks tomorrow. He refused to suckle directly so I had to express and feed. I also offered formula. I never gave up trying though.

My baby finally accepted on sunday. So we started our breastfeeding journey at 7 weeks!!! Keep putting him to breast for a while, if he starts to struggle real hard, you can let him be so he doesn't hate the move. Cheer up mama, everything will be fine.

Good morning mamas. Please help a fellow mama who is seriously worried.

Yesterday, my son started "purging". He pooped about 4 times yesterday, the first two was normal but others were slimmy and very loose.

We do combi feeding. This morning we had two feeding sessions of breastmilk and he didn't poop. Around 6am, he woke up to eat and I gave him formula. In less than 5 minutes he pooped (same yellow slimmy poop with small small seeds.)

I'm suspecting the formula is the culprit here, and I'm thinking of changing it today, as I cannot do exclusive due to baby's large appetite. We have been using Nan 1 since birth. Please suggest other formulas we can switch to that won't upset him. He is 7 weeks old.

Sabi mamas please o. Is it possible for a baby to develop diaper rash from using different brands of diapers?

I've been switching between Huggies and molfix, but I want to try some other brands we were gifted. Someone told me it could cause a rash so I'm scared to use these other brands, but will I let them go to waste?

Ok, that's great. I got confused when you said expressing round the clock is exhausting. If you are using the medela pump, preferably the symphony one which is their hospital-grade one, it will empty your breasts within 20 minutes and you only have to do it every 3 hours and done....

Oh I get it. To meet up with my baby's appetite I have to pump before each feed if I hope to give him breastmilk. First session in the morning I get 150ml, but other times it's lower than that. That's why I am always pumping.

Continue to put him to breast because the expressing is extra work. My nipples were very big when I had my baby that he wasn't able to put it in his small mouth coupled with the nipple pain I was having, but with time I continue giving him till he could open his mouth wide to let it in and the shape is now small because he has shaped it with his small mouth now.

It really is hard work. I'll keep trying with him. Thanks mama

That constant expressing can drain someone....speaking from experience.
I had the same experience. My baby no even get patience. It was so bad that we went to the hospital. At some point, they made feel bad as if I was not trying enough. The experience was emotionally exhausting. No rest. When baby is sleeping that I'm supposed to be sleeping, I'm busy expressing. After hours of expressing, small thing of about 20ml will come out.
Do the best you can.

Story of my life mama.... expressing round the clock is exhausting but I'm determined to give him some breastmilk, no matter how little. As i type I'm currently at it even. I still try putting him to breast sha with the hope that one day, we will have a breakthrough.

I didn't produce milk early enough, so baby was on formula. When I started producing little, he refused to suckle. He had problems latching on because of the size of my nipples, and also I think he got used to milk flowing easily from the bottle so each time we tried breastfeeding, after a short time he would get angry and stop. So I stopped trying, and pump round the clock except at bed time when I give formula.

To be honest I wasn't mentally prepared to breastfeed after delivery. Now that I am, it looks like it's too late to teach him, as he is not patient enough

Please i have a little problem, my baby is five weeks old he has this big nevel, since last week Friday we notice his stomach is somehow getting big, so we took her to a chemist store. The owner examine him and gave him some medicine, we use them Friday and Saturday no much difference. My sister recommend that we give him Calabash nutmeg, that we should chew it and squeeze the liquid for him to drink. We did it on Saturday evening and he slept very well and even poo and release so many fart. Now this afternoon his body is kind of hot, I've gave him the medicine.

I don't know if i should keep using only the Calabash nutmeg or take him to hospital and recommendation will be highly welcome.

Keep putting him to the breast Mama... Most times when babies start preferring the bottle to suckling directly it's because the bottle is easier for them. But with breast,they have to suck well to get milk out.

When my baby was some days old,my nipples were too big,to enter her mouth and stay there sef na war. She will try and get fussy. It was hardwork for her. It really got to me. I never believed my nipples would one day fit in her mouth and we would nurse comfortably.

Mama Zaynie told me to keep putting her to the breast. Her paediatrician also said,because she is taking the bottle, when it's time to nurse,she will be waiting for the milk to drop in her mouth like it does with the bottle.
So,when you nurse,press the top of the boob to mimic the flow of a bottle. Soon he will adjust.

Now,we nurse so well and my milk supply has stabilized too.

Always make sure you're hydrated...drink water like a fish. Lol
Take oats,pap,bitterleaf soup(if you can find)

I also drink water before I nurse,and after

Thanks a lot mama for your response mama. His paediatrician said the same thing, so I'm trying to make him suckle directly. We are taking it one step at a time. I mostly express and give him from a bottle, though we take formula to augment till we can finally get used to sucking directly. I ordered the cookies from the milkbooster on IG.

In breastfeeding, my wife use majorly formula (SMA Gold) and breastfeeding intermittently. She complained she can't do exclusive on both of them. Please is this practice in order.

The most important thing is baby being fed.

I wanted to do exclusive breastfeeding, but my body had other plans. I've not been able to produce enough milk to meet my baby's demands (he has also refused to suckle directly so I have to express). We have been on formula since day one, and I give breastmilk when I am able to. Baby is doing just fine.

I'm sure Wifey and baby will do just fine.

This happened to me. Are u in Nigeria?? If yes, go to any trusted and tested Iya elewe omo or Iya alagbo. Tell them the issue, they will give u herbal soap to wash ur breast.
I did the same for three days and my baby started sucking my breast.
I was told there is unseen infection that's why babies don't or refused to suck their mothers breast.
Pls visit a tested and trusted one.

Are your nipples inverted, or big? Could most likely be the cause.
For lactation, try liquids-milk, tea, pap, etc. You can also try oats, chicken, lactation cookies. That could help.

They are actually big. I've heard about the lactation cookies, but I was skeptical about how effective it would be. I'll order it straight away. Thanks for your response.

Good evening mamas. New mum here.

Please I need advice on what to do. My new born won't suckle directly, but if I express it he takes from the bottle. The issue is because he is not sucking directly, I am not able to produce a lot. The highest I have done is 150ML in one day, since then the most I have done is 30/60ML so we have been on formula.

Please mamas come to my aid o. I had an episiotomy and was told at the hospital to only wash with warm water. Now the site is swollen and its giving me some difficulties. My mil is a nurse, she told me to add salt and antiseptic to warm water and sit on it. Please whats best I use?

She is right. I had one too and was told to do same. Aside sitting on it, I also dip cotton wool in antiseptic water (hot but bearable) and hold to the site for a while. You can also use a cold compress on the swelling. Quick recovery mama.

if what u mean by membrane sweep is just to put little finger and prick your water or so. This is not that painful. I heard its uncomfortable thats all

I think it involves inserting the finger to separate the amniotic sac from the neck of the cervix to trigger labour. I'll find out tomorrow super anxious though

Please has anyone successfully had a membrane sweep here? I'm scheduled for one on Thursday and I'm a bit nervous. So many questions running through my mind, will it go fine, how soon will labour start after it's done. Also, is it painful as I've read online?

I gave to my twin boys yesterday April 23 . Twin 1 came 5:35am, 1.99 while twin 2 came ten minutes after, 2.12kg......36+6 days .both babies are doing incredible. I've started nursing sef. vaginal delivery with epi and tear ( despite being tiny)

I had a membrane sweep on that Wednesday, and I had been feeling contractions but they were irregular. I managed till Thursday night when my mom called and I described how I was feeling to her ( back to stomach contractions) she asked us to go the hospital, that was around 9pm o...
I was checked and I was only 2cm dilated but my cervix was soft. the doctor then gave me medication for the pain and asked me to rest. I was jejely sleeping on my own o with slight contractions when I just felt a pop ( infact, I heard it). it was hot and plenty. At around 3am, the nurse then took me to the labour room, checked me, I was 6cm, she was surprised.. I started growling and begging for medication, I was in so much pain and agony. the contractions came and kept coming. nurse said she would check me by 6am. 3 hours felt like forever. by 5:10am, I started having the urge to push, she asked me not to that I could tear my cervix, I tried but it was so hard not to push. at 5:35 twin A came, his brother came 10 minutes after. vaginal delivery. may God take control of our births

Labour took about 3hours.
