Iamblessed88: So in essence, Cardinal Stone Equity Fund is more like an ETF. One thing though, what’s the liquidity? How easy would it be to sell as i hear ETFs aren’t so liquid in the Nigerian Market No, Cardinal Stone equity fund is a mutual fund and not an ETF. It's actively managed and they don't just copy/mirror market index, they research and pick specific stocks they think will outperform, But using NGX30 as the benchmark. |

EquityM: Yes, they are lagging behind the big boys. I think they just started the fund last year in Feb. I was told dividend is also distributed annually apart from the capital gains. They aren't lagging. Cardinal Stone Equity Fund is benchmarked against the NGX30, other fund managers utilize different strategies too for portfolio composition. Cardinal Stone’s equity fund tracks the NGX30, whereas another fund manager can use different benchmarks. So it's more of like different approaches/strategies to equity fund. |

bluntjudge: my two friends and i are planning to be saving certain of amount of money monthly into mutual funds for a long time. We want a structure similar to a joint account, where all three of us have access to the account and no one can withdraw funds without the others being aware. We would also like each person to set up an automatic monthly direct debit from their personal bank account into the investment account.
Please, is there any platform that currently offers this kind of setup, or what would anyone recommend as the best way to go about it? One approach will be to open a joint bank account, though you’ll need to verify if the bank permits three unrelated signatories for joint account opening. Alternatively, setting up a Club or Cooperative account may be more effective. The withdrawal mandate should be set to 'All to Sign' (A+B+C). Once established, you can link this account to a fund manager for direct debit and also for withdrawals. However, you would each need to manually transfer your monthly contributions into the joint account first. |

Beeron: That T+2 policy was implemented last week. That single policy made the market more liquid so people decided to invest even their Christmas money that's why the market got bullish.
Enjoy your wins now and be smart to flee when ASI drops beyond recognizable pattern. It’s been a great year for equity funds generally though, unlike last year. If you jumped in back in January, you’d likely be up about 50% or more right now. Also, for equity fund it's not advisable to try timing the market, time in the market is what builds wealth. Unless a total market collapse is certain, moving in and out of funds usually does more harm than good. Equity funds are a long-term play, when the market dips, don't sell. Buy more. That’s how real gains are made. So it's best to put capital you can leave for 5 - 10 years. |

To your question, the person will also need to have access to your email, your signature and know who to send it to, which to me doesn't seem like a stranger. For additional security, you can instruct your Relationship Manager to confirm all fund transfer requests above a specified threshold through a direct phone call to you. |

Allboiz: You'll loose a day interest doing that and you'll realise it's not worth the stress after calculation.
Just stick with stanbic with a monthly reinvestment plan at 19.34% or FBN with a quarterly reinvestment plan at 20.08% You won't lose a day interest. Withdrawal from the mmf to stash is processed in 4 hours, if you add it back even at 11:00pm you'd still get that day interest on cowrywise. You can even do 15 days and not 1 month if you have huge amount of money there. Make cowrywise no see this sha |

nickae: Its the cowrywise mutual funds. Compounding is quarterly, i think its only stanbic that do it monthly, but there is a hack. You can choose not to reinvest your dividend, then once its paid to your account, you put it back to the funds Or you move all your money including gains to stash by month end and then move it back to the mmf as new. |

The CardinalStone Equity Fund, like other equity-focused investments, demonstrates significant volatility. In 2024, my N500,000 capital at some point drop to N410,000. However, with the current equity market upturn, it's also experiencing exponential growth to 815k. This means high potential for both substantial gains and losses, marking it as an aggressive investment. Tomorrow the 815k can drop to 600k, depending on equity market performance.
In contrast, Money Market Funds (MMFs) offer stability. They prioritize capital preservation, making it highly unlikely to lose your initial investment.
For maximizing returns and managing the risk of an equity fund, the strategy involves a long-term investment combined with Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) – consistently investing more capital, especially during market dips. This approach helps average out your purchase price and capitalizes on future market recoveries.
Thank you.

I just wanna know if I'm on the safer side or I should register directly with the ARM MMF app Not worth it. I've tried their smartearn offering, which is basically ARM mmf through their transsnet assets management. 1. The actual interest paid is lower than the advertised rate. 2. There's a lack of transparency regarding interest calculation and the rates applied. They just show you the amount. 3. They charge an outrageous processing fee, 1% of your capital (up to ₦3,000). Although Palmpay Premium members get one free purchase per month. 4. Interest can be unpaid for up to five days after funding your account. I use Cowrywise now and I've had seamless experience with them. |

Which will you advice that I put it that will give good interest on investment.
Or which investment is advisable to put the money into for good ROI.
Thanks for reaching and responding. Fairmoney offers highest interest rates for fixed-term deposits: either 26% or 27% for a 1-year term, or 28% or 29% for a 2-year term. You also have the option to receive the full interest amount upfront. Keep in mind that a 10% withholding tax will be applied to the earned interest If you however want to be able to have access to your money at anytime, and not pay tax on the interest I'll suggest money market fund. But the interest is around 20% - 22% per annum. You can download fairmoney app using my referral link below: https://fairmoney.io/referral?referral_code=MA6MM |

Politics › Re: Wike: Judiciary Right When Obi Reclaimed Mandate As Gov, Wrong When He Lost by yusfatedeeprof(m): 8:38am On Sep 09, 2023 |
festacman: The fact is that Judiciary's treatment of presidential election petitions over the years has always been about avoiding political crises rather than giving justice to petitioners. From Obasanjo, Yar'adua, Buhari and now Tinubu, the worry facing the judges has always been the likely effect of judgement on political stability of Nigeria. Of course, financial inducement or any other interferences may not be ruled out but the mindset of judges is that all politicians are the same and none is worth sacrificing the stability of the country for. Interestingly, in spite of favourable PEPT and Supreme Court rulings in 2014, late Umaru Yar'adua accepted that the election that brought him to office was not free and fair and consequently appointed Uwais committee to suggest ways of strengthening electoral process.
For example in Tinubu's case, outright cancellation wouldn't have solved any problem because: - The acting president who would have overseen new election is Senate President Godswill Akpabio who is dependable Tinubu's ally. - The same INEC team that organized the cancelled election would have organized the new election and even in the situation that another INEC chairman is required, Akpabio would still have power to appoint. - The IG of police who would have overseen the security during the elections would have been a Tinubu boy with 100% loyalty - Same for security chiefs who would have done everything possible to retain their offices as Tinubu losing means loss of job for them. In other word, ordering a new election wouldn't actually solved problem except create political crises apart from heavy financial burden on the treasury.
This is why It is important to make uploading results from polling booths mandatory part of the INEC's transmission of results to the collation centre. Otherwise, the current "go to court" shenanigans will continue. All you've put up there are just mere suppositions. Well, until the petitioners prove to the court they were rigged I don't think it's right to assume that the judiciary doesn't care about justice in presidential elections. What is justice really? Because some people are crying about it? Or because a section of the public believe the election was rigged? Or you expect the court to find evidence for them? I don't understand, has Obi or Atiku in any way proven to the court that they won? Let them prove that first and we'll see if the court will overturn the election or not. Then and only then we can talk about the judges not being interested in justice but political stability. |
