Celebrities / Checkout The Best Way To Handle ‘haters’, Number 10 Will Interest You by Yusluv6020: 10:27pm On May 21, 2016 |
Nollywood actress Stella Damasus who has come
under fire several times for allegedly snatching
actress Doris Simeon’s husband, Daniel
Ademinokan, has decided to enlighten people on
the best way to handle online trolls spoiling for a
fight.
Stella took to her blog www.stelladamasusblog.com
to share twenty tips on handling your ‘haters’
Here’s what she had to say below:
“People have asked me over the years how I have
handled the criticisms, trolls, negative comments,
media bashing and crazy insults. I have put
together 20 of the most effective methods that have
helped me. I hope you find them useful.
1. Acknowledge the fact that haters thrive on Hate.
It is a negative attribute/trait which kills internally
and fast.
2. If you claim to be a positive person, don’t waste
your time dwelling on the negative.
3. You need to understand the fact that these
people are HURTING within themselves. They need
to escape from that hurt or take it out on someone.
Continue…
4. Don’t let them drag you into their HATE HOLE. If
you hate them back then you have become exactly
like them…Your loss.
5. You cannot control what people do or say, but
you can control how you react to it.
6. INTERNET TROLLING is a very addictive habit.
Instead of making them important, see them as
addicts who desperately need rehabilitation.
Addiction is a silent killer.
7. Don’t waste your time getting angry at people
who don’t even know you. It is not logical to allow
strangers feed off your anger. They are not worth
your emotions.
8. Most times, people who make the loudest noise
need attention. They can never be relevant without
it. Don’t be the one to make them popular by
responding.
9. Get used to the fact that FREE social media has
given even the most ignorant and jobless person a
platform to speak his ignorance and lash out.
10. Rage is such a powerful life consuming
emotion. It takes a lot of pain and anger to spit out
VENOM, especially on people they don’t know. Your
HATERS feel that they are hurting you when they
say ugly things to you but they don’t realize how
deep their pain has eaten into them. Pray for them
because they are in pain and their hearts are
deeply troubled. Remember that they may not
realize this until it’s too late.
11. Your HATERS are mostly people who follow you
and monitor all you do, so they can have
opportunities to attack you. Guess what? You are
more important to them than they are to you. You
are being followed, but they are the ones doing the
following. Who should have the upper hand?
12. The more they talk, the more you should RISE.
Their negative comments should become your
driving force to succeed and do more. The more
you rise the more difficult it becomes for them to
keep up. If they STOP harassing you, the RAGE
MIGHT destroy them so they need you to SURVIVE.
13. Nothing can change their minds about you
regardless of the amount of work you do to try and
impress them. Focus on more important things, not
how to change their mind. They don’t know you so
what do they want to hate? They think they hate
you because of their PAIN but their thoughts often
lead them to more pain and destruction. Do you
really want to get involved in all of that?
14. If they had more important things to do, they
will not have the time to look for you, follow you,
read your posts or look at your pictures, watch
your videos then plan and construct their HATE
comments. Trust me, this takes a lot of time and
energy. If YOU had more important things to do,
you will not have the time to look for the haters and
you certainly will not have time to respond to all of
them. Make them feel like you don’t even know they
exist, neither do you see or acknowledge their
comments. After a while, they get tired of trying to
get at you.
15. If you were not relevant or making an impact,
you will not have HATERS. What do you really want?
Be less than average and not have any haters or be
very successful, important and attract HATERS.
16. Your HATERS want what you have, they want the
life that you have but can’t have it. Their reaction to
this realization is to HATE YOU. By letting their
comments torment you, it means you are accepting
the fact that their unimportant life is your fault.
17. It is better to be talked about than to be the one
who does the talking.
18. People hate what they don’t understand. When
they can’t decipher the reason behind your success
or happiness they will HATE YOU. Be happy that
you have something they want. Always remember
to thank God because it’s not the other way round.
19. Try not to respond to comments when you’re
angry. Whatever you say at that point will be out of
anger and this will make you seem worse than the
HATER. They always try to provoke you to respond
so that you condescend to their level. Resist the
temptation to fire back at them with your own
words.
20. Whatever you feed more will grow more. Don’t
feed the haters by paying attention to them. Let
them starve because you will not feed them with
your time and attention. Guess what happens to a
starved troll… When you get uncomfortable, simply
DELETE COMMENT, BLOCK THE USER OR REPORT
THE ACCOUNT.”

Nigerian music star Ice Prince Zamani has
announced that he is officially out of contract with
foremost Nigerian record label Chocolate City
music and the situation has caused quite some
uproar on social media.
The Aboki rapper did media rounds today, May 19
in promotion of his latest single Chike featuring
Mavin Records star Korede Bello and he opened up
about the situation at Cool FM and Beat FM in
Lagos.
Ice Prince signed to Chocolate City in 2010 under
the tutelage of Audu Maikori and went on to hit
prominence in the Nigerian and African music
industry with several hit songs such as Oleku,
Aboki, I Swear, Gimme Dat, Can I Talk and N Word
among others.
Before now, there were speculations that the 29-

at the music label and wanted out hence the subtle
promotion of his new music imprint Super Cool
Cats, but he denied every such thing stating that
Chocolate City is family and he will remain with the
label come what may.

rapper told Toolz of Beat FM that he is still a part of
the label in other aspects, even though his contract
has expired hence his decision to move on.
He said that spiritually he is still with Chocolate City
but has only chosen to do things a different way for
now.
He also downplayed rumours of any rift in-house
which led to his public declaration of leaving the
label.
The rapper also told Cool FM during his interview
that his contract expired two years back but he
chose not to make it public owing to his
relationship with the label’s executive. |

Education / UNILORIN Expels 108 Fresh Students For Admission Fraud by Yusluv6020: 10:06pm On May 16, 2016 |
The Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin,
AbdulGaniyu Ambali, has disclosed that about 108
fresh students of the institution have been expelled
for gaining admission through dubious means.
He said this when he was paid a visit by the
commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Mr Sam
Okaula.
According to Ambali, the stable academic calendar
and culture of excellence in the university and the
consequent interest of most candidates to secure
admission into the institution, has made most of
these candidates to resort to illegal means in seeking
admission into the university.
He stressed on the university's stance on zero
tolerance for cultism and indecent dressing and
assured the police commissioner of the university's
support in rendering any help the police may need in
the course of exercising their duties. |
Education / Logistic Challenges Experienced In 2016 UTME Will Not Recur In 2017 - JAMB Boss by Yusluv6020: 10:00pm On May 16, 2016 |
The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation
Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, has assured
candidates and parents that some of the issues
experienced during the last UTME will not be
experienced in 2017.
According to him, most of the logistic challenges
were caused by those given the responsibility to
accredit examination centres because they
compromised the process.
He stated that the board will place more priority on
centre accreditation, before the commencement of
all its subsequent examinations.
“We shall insist on a thorough accreditation and put
the machinery in place that will ensure that
accreditation meets our required standard.
“Some of these centres will invite us to use their
centres, presenting us with the state of the art
facilities during the accreditation.
“But they later go ahead to replace these facilities
with substandard facilities during the examination
proper,’’ he said.
He equally pointed put that the workers implicated in
the accreditation fraud have been punished
accordingly. |
Autos / Governors, Minister Forced Fuel Subsidy Removal - FG by Yusluv6020: 2:35pm On May 16, 2016 |
A top federal government official has revealed that
Dr Ibe Kachikwu and some state governors pressed
President Muhammadu Buhari into removing fuel
subsidy.
Daily Trust reports that the official who pleaded
anonymity said in Abuja on Saturday, May 14 that
President Buhari was concerned about the effect of
increasing fuel price to N145 on common Nigerians
and had resisted the minister of state for
petroleum’s proposals for several months. He said
however the president “succumbed reluctantly this
month when he (Buhari) was presented with the
stark reality of the dropping oil earnings and
foreign reserves situation.” The official said apart from this, “pressure from state governors whose allocation from FAAC has been dropping was also a significant factor that swayed the president.” He said Buhari would not have agreed to the new fuel pricing if he had not been presented with evidence that Nigeria’s declining foreign earnings from oil would be further devastated unless independent oil marketers and other interested entities are encouraged to import fuel. The official said: “The amount required for fuel importation alone will easily take about more than half of the $550m foreign earnings. If the country continues doing that the oil revenue left for FAAC sharing would be significantly reduced with the possibility that a situation where there would be nothing left to share between federal government, states and local governments exists in the near future. “Although NNPC is meant to supply only 50 per cent of the local fuel supply and independent marketers making up the balance, none of the marketers has been able to source forex from the CBN this year and therefore cannot sell at the prevailing price regime and make a profit. If the federal government continues with NNPC alone importing oil, and trying to fill the gap left by the independent marketers by dedicating more export crude for domestic consumption, the depleting impact on the oil earnings would continue to worsen. And when this is added to the fact that already about 27 states cannot pay salaries because of the dwindling foreign earnings, the situation becomes even worse. Even some oil producing states like Bayelsa are affected. “With the drastic reduction in the foreign earnings in April, what would be shared at the next FAAC is expected to be the least ever, when the meagre $550m oil earnings are converted to Naira. The sharp reduction in government revenue particularly from oil earnings due to low price regime in the international market has been exacerbated by domestic factors such as recent sabotage by disgruntled and faceless militants in the Niger Delta”. Meanwhile, the minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige, urged Nigerians to endure the hike in the price of petrol, adding that the government action was influenced by the need to reposition the economy into a productive one. |
