2. Bruce Lee could do more than play a ping-pong game with nunchucks, he was quite the Cha-Cha dancer (honestly). Here he is in 1958.

In today's world of overly saturated visual culture, it's an odd thing to think of a photograph--itself-- as being "rare." We are so used to instantaneous image recording, completely at our fingertips and, as is the case for most people in this generation, it's hard to imagine it any other way. But, given everything previously mentioned, the inherent rarity, novelty, individuality, and history in photos from the past make them that much more enticing and that much more valuable. Having the opportunity to visualise things we often consider our own distant pasts is a great privilege and allows us different perspectives on the present. In an attempt to do just that, take a look through this eclectic collection of rare historical photographs, bask in their rustic aesthetic, and awaken your inner history buff. 1. Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife on June 28, 1914, the day they were assassinated by Gavrilo Princip (insert) in Sarajevo. The event that triggered WWI.

Here tonight, we'll be reading from a poem titled "I know why the caged bird sings" by Maya Angelou. The poem is here below: I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou The free bird leaps on the back of the wind and floats downstream till the current ends and dips his wings in the orange sun rays and dares to claim the sky. But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage can seldom see through his bars of rage his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing. The caged bird sings with fearful trill of the things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom The free bird thinks of another breeze and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn and he names the sky his own. But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing The caged bird sings with a fearful trill of things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom. |

From Wikipedia, we have: 'A metaphor is a figure of speech that IDENTIFIES SOMETHING as being the same as some unrelated thing for rhetorical effect, thus highlighting the similarities between the two. It is therefore considered[by whom?] more rhetorically powerful than a Simile. While a Simile compares two items, a Metaphor may compare or directly equates them, and so does not necessarily apply any distancing words of comparison, such as "like" or "as". A metaphor is a type of analogy and is closely related to other rhetorical figures of speech which achieve their effects via association, comparison or resemblance-including allegory, hyperbole, and simile. |

Emotionally, children are more like animals because their frontal lobes are still growing and don’t mature until sometime in early adulthood. If we want to understand what love truly is, our observations and research would be well invested in studying animals. More pictures. Sourced From

According to this study, people tend to ascribe lower levels of mental functioning to animals that they are about to eat. Another interesting study in the journal Appetite suggested that an animal’s perceived intelligence is the main factor in determining whether or not we will be disgusted by the thought of eating it. We can learn so much about love and ourselves by observing animals. Their interactions are a sure sign of that expression through body language without verbal communication. One look at these pictures is all it takes to appreciate not only the love between animals of the same species, but also cross species.Mammals have the same brain structures and intricate emotional systems hard wired in their brains. We often do not give animals as much credit as they deserve for being complex, thinking, sensitive and empathetic beings, but they are. In fact, they demonstrate an unconditional love that all humans can learn from in their daily lives when dealing with each other. The emotions from animals are simple and pure. They don’t suffer from the same emotional entanglements that humans do. They don’t have love-hate relationships with each other, or experience judgement to any degree. They don’t care about how much money you make or what you look like. I bet some of these pictures will blow your mind. See below:

THE VANTAGE POINT If tired of trees I seek again mankind, Well I know where to hie me in the dawn, To a slope where the cattle keep the lawn. There amid lolling juniper reclined, Myself unseen, I see in white defined Far off the homes of men, and farther still The graves of men on an opposing hill, Living or dead, whichever are to mind. And if by noon I have too much of these, I have but to turn on my arm, and lo, The sunburned hillside sets my face aglow, My breathing shakes the bluet like a breeze, I smell the earth, I smell the bruised plant, I look into the crater of the ant. |
Well, glory be to God for today's class. Even though, nobody attended. See u all next week! Am outta here.... |
The door= Election The scary looks is frightening: The way Nigerians perceived the election before its commencement was really scary. Wasn't it? Fear of war, unsure of the outcome. To cut the story short, we can recall back to different prophecies prophesied by different pastors. 'As we move closer in the evening: As the election was getting closer, it was obvious that lots and lots of migration occurred. The northerners living in the south migrated to their region, while the southerners in the north also followed in the opposite. However, some believed that no matter what will happen, they just must be at their respective founts. Our neighbour's crooked door: Many ruled INEC out and believe they are just bunches of an independent bodies and organisations of lies. They believed they can't guarantee a fair and free process of the Election. They were ruled out that they won't deliver the will and wishes of the people. Until recently, INEC was able to proved them wrong. Made from a woody stem Joined with patches to keep it firm: It was believed that most of INEC officials are corrupt, just little of them aren't corrupted, but majorities are. Many believed the chairman of the body was just a figure head that will follow the instructions of who assigned him the position not according to the thumb ballots of the electorates. The result was opposite of peoples believe and clarify how strong the organisation is now. Makes their house look dull. The colour is blurry Because there was no paint to furnish: INEC lose some peoples trust. Taking many challenges they encountered for instance, the hope that the card readers will fail, or is it the delay in the distributions of the PVC's make many believed that the election will not hold. Their focus was hampered with many accusations and allegations from many. But still yet, they ignored them and still came victorious against all odds. |
