@nuttyproff It depends on what version of Vista you've got. Group policy settings can only be administered across users in either Vista Business or Vista Ultimate. Else, you switch back to XP Professional. |
Dude, I assume you got the computer you're using with Vista pre-installed. If yes, the questions I would like to put to you are: Are you ready and willing to lose your genuine Windows OS? Do you have a valid Windows XP licence? If the answer to the above questions is no, are you then willing to go thru Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) problems? Think long and hard before you change your genuine OS for a pirated copy. Luck |
Chemical Engineering 2006. Big up and cheers to my fellow survivors out there. |
Present day realities show the Pentium range of processors outpacing AMD in EVERY area; both tests and real-world computing. Google Super-Pi, install it and run it on your Pentium and AMD machines. The Pentium wins everytime. Recently, Intel began producing processors using the 45nm process (Penryn); AMD's Phenom processors are still playing catch- up. Bottom line go for a pentium. It's the current fastest gun. |
SSSSSSSSSSSSsnooooore. What was that again? Sony releasing VAIO AR series with Blu-Ray? Why are you making so much noise about an already established technology. For your info, Sony released a laptop with a Blu-ray drive in June 2k6. Man your news is stale with a capital S. I use a Sony FZ series with Blu-ray technology; got that last year by the way. |
@oyb You dey play Crysis on your laptop? wetin you get? Alienware m15x. Haba guy except you find a game playable at 8fps or less, |
Big up to both Midas and Iyvie. I'm a chemical engineer so i know you guys were not spouting gibberish. Midas, if you have differences don't start hurling insults; it's petty and churlish. When i make my views on practical engineering known i look forward to them being challenged. |
You are so wrong there. Check out www.urbannetfibre.com/index.php wholly Nigerian, truly outstanding. Trust me, no Corel there |
@feliar For the record, your N91 uses a micro hard drive while your N81 has flash based memory. This simply means that the N81 will always be faster in accessing files and is immune to the disk latency issues of the N91. You should also be careful because hard drives by their nature do not like constant vibrations -kills the drive heads, bad causes bad sectors and basically wrecks the platters. If your N91 is that slow, you may have disk issues. For your mobile office apps, (Excel, etc) do a search at www.dotsis.com it has all you need. |
S'up. Your N80 is an OS9 Symbian Smartfone. It's not backward compatible with OS8.1 applications and below. OS8.1 fones such as the N70 have almost perfect backward compatibility with all series60 applications from OS8.1 and below; hence they'll work with just about any .sis file. Your fone prefers the .sisx file types. |
It would be better if you could do a full format of all affected systems. After doing this, reinstall windows and set public accounts (e.g Guest) with severely limited privileges. The guest account might work nicely as a reduced privilege account; you may also type "mmc" in the run dialog and use a Group Policy Snapin to further limit available privileges on your computer. You may login as an admin whenever you need to perform any operations requiring Admin Privileges. Best of luck |
Pls note that Hibernating a computer is not the same as shutting it down. If you choose to hibernate often, it would help to actually shutdown your machine and restart it from time to time. This allows windows to do some basic "housekeeping" which is quite necessary. |
This reply is for Dual Core. Pls do your homework next time. The 3250 is a Symbian based smartphone running OS9. It's still got the old Screen Res not the OS9 friendly 320*240 however. And for Mr and Mrs "my N95 is better than yours", you guys are so limited you've probably never used a touchscreen smartphone. I've used them all and i can tell you unequivocally that NOTHING BEATS A TOUCHSCREEN SMARTPHONE!!!! |
Why do most people believe that the newest fone is the best for EVERYTHING? For those 5700 lovers; the N72 and N70 are both based on the symbian operating system 8.1a with S60 UI. Both these fones are fully backward compatible with almost all nokia applications and themes. Try signing an application like smartmovie for OS9.x and you'll understand better. To the story short, in fones as in everything else, your choice should be based on what functionality you require from your device. |
Hi, note that your fone uses Symbian OS9 Series 60UI, so please make sure you are not trying to install software for an older Nokia fone on your Smartfone. Try this link www.s60world.com it'll take a lot of wading thru pages and you do have to register to be able to download files. If you want to get the best out of your smartfone, it really is worth it. P.S. It is important to know the Operating System (OS) and the UI used by your fone. Your subject title is also misleading as there is NO such fone as a Nokia N99 (Developed by Nokia that is) |
You didn't say what you actually want from your fone. If it's music, then i guess the N73 carries the day and that's just cos of the improved player interface, album art, and other niggles. The actual sound quality is no better than what is offered by the N72 and N70; using superior quality earphones (think sennheiser250, etc) and the headfone adapter. The camera of the N73 is also better by a mile cos of its Carl Zeiss optics and CMOS sensor. If on the other hand you're looking for backward software compatibility with every Nokia smartfone from os6 (3650, 7650) to os8.1 (n70, n72), then the N70/72 is the way for you to go. These fones allow you access to the majority of applications (dictionaries, video apps, security, etc, etc) developed for the series 60 platform. The N73, based on symbian OS9 is so much more restrictive about what you can do with it. Hope this helps. Cheers! |
