Culture / Re: Origins Of Us So Called Bantu. by Zairois: 2:22am On Nov 30, 2017
You don't understand what I meant.
Ancient Egyptian most definently was a afro-asiatic similarity. My point is that these influence on language. There are many similarities though that can't be a case of coincidence.
Culture / Origins Of Us So Called Bantu. by Zairois: 12:58am On Nov 30, 2017
After doing some research online and offline ( oral history in my family). I've come to the belief that bantus speaking people from eastern Africa come from Sudan area and not Nigeria/cameroon.
My family is from eastern Congo ( Katanga) we are descendants of Tanzanians who came to the area around lake Taganyika. Anyways my elders of my tribe (Hemba) claim that we came to present day Katanga from the North along the Nile through tanzania then moved again through rwanda/burundi area till reaching Katanga under the order of our ancestor who was what we call in Swahili, Sultani I think it means ruler or boss.
Reading online I'm seeing that other Bantu speaking people of eastern Africa too claim of a northern migration which is damn cool at how we have the same story yet so far apart.
Also you can Google the ancient Egyptian connection with swahili and there clearly is one and it's not of the words of Arabic origin but rather Bantu words.
Now my point, I honestly don't feel related to west Africans like in my Swahili dialect we call ugaali, bukari which is similar to Rwanda/ Burundi of ubugari my Tutsi friends from Burundi told me they have oral tradition that states they decend from Kings.
Another interesting thing I noticed is that real Congolese tend to be similar to west African despite being Bantu and west African not. They both eat yams and call the food fufu and the tone of speech in for example lingala when spoken sounds like a west African person along with other things.
For my final statement I honestly think that we come from the North not that it's any better but that's a common oral history amongst alot of us in the east.
Baal the word for lord in a canaanite or something language and in swahili we say Bwana for Lord.

I am from Congo and I will say that over and over again.
I am a very proud Congolese. I am very proud of my heritage.
As a matter of fact, I am a citizen of 3 countries, the Democratic republic of Congo, Belgium and Canada.
However, I am first and foremost CONGOLESE.

As for god of ebola descending on me, don't worry about that.
Nigeria was able to defeat the god of ebola.
And I will learn through my interactions with Nigerians how to do the same.
And those are the Nigerians with brains and class I am going to learn from and not some low life Nigerians who have nothing to offer to their country except giving it a bad name like some folks on this thread.

I will always carry the logo of a proud CONGOLESE.
JE SUIS CONGOLAIS (FRENCH)
NIKO KONGOLAIS (SWAHILI)
NAZA KONGOLAIS (LINGALA)

Who can help me how translate "I am Congolese" in Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo?

justwise, jennykadry, prettythicksme, mikron, YoursSolomon, EmpressaDelRei, Jbluv55 ... can any of you help me translate "I am Congolese" in Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo.
Sahibu wtf "Niko Kongolais" isn't swahili Kongolais isn't a swahili word I'm sure we both know that. It would be Kongoli. tuna Sahau kiswahili? never forget Kiswahili one of the poetic languages of Africa.

ebamma: I have been fortunate to know both hausa and efik language, and one thing i realised is that the share some words though the words have different meanings the include
1)Kudi in hausa means money but in efik kudi means don't come
2)kunana in hausa means you are burning me but in efik it means don't sleep
3)nama in hausa means meat but nama in efik means do it
there are more but thats the few in can remember
that's interesting because in swahili nyama means meat lol
But Mnyama means animal

Ajuran:

Just cause no 1 calls u a slave u think they like u?

how insecure
Slave? Well yes indeed you are right I am a slave of God.
On a side note insecure people try their best to make others feel bad so they can feel better about themselves.
With that said being proud saying your ancestors enabled a group of people for 500 years is nothing to be proud about, because in the end God always puts the slaved people on the winning end. Look at America. Who knows maybe that's why Somalia is a waste maybe God is punishing you all , To Egypt he turned the Nile to blood, killed the first borns and you know the rest.
Now to Somalia he makes people pollute their water , sends them famine, and dis order that will last 1000 years.

Garaad:

For most non-Somalis it might seem weird but unfortunately Somali culture breeds this level of ignorance and stupidity. Remember we are the only country in Africa in which 99% of the people speak the same language, 99% have the same religion, and 90% are the same ethnicity, yet we live in anarchy, have famines that no other modern country does, and live under the threat of terrorism and piracy.

If the Nigerian brothas and sistas here think its bad the way some Somalis think about other Africans. You don't want to know what we say about one another. The amount of ethnic vitriol among tribes who look indistinguishable from one another is 10x worse than anything Somalis have to say about any other Africans. Our entire culture is based on hating each other and fighting about stupid shit. Its the by product of living in a harsh environment for hundreds of years and having only your close family to depend on while being attacked at any moment by other tribes.
To be honest every african considered " black" know how horners especially Somalis see themselves just thought this was an attitude most of their grandparents faced unless my somali friends parents are just 'acting' friendly lool but still ajuran has no excuse for this barbaric behavior like I have never seen an Ethiopian or Eritrean come to this site to hate, but some Somalis will go through all the trouble to make multiple account just to call people bigger, adnoon or w.e , and the famous jareer or brag about jilcec -.- that's what I'm surprised about.

Absolutely no exxageration Rwanda is a tiny and overpopulated country (even after the genocide) with no wealth at all and wants to develop invading Congo and pillaging it's resources .
It's actually America, Belgium and who knows who else is benefiting from it the most, they are just aiding Rwandans to make them as scape goats.
The Hutu and Tutsi used to be brother and sister, this whole division they have was done by the Belgians. Hutu and Tutsi speak the exact same language, same culture.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, which is why some people find motorcycles to be amazing while others are drawn to SUVs . This somali dust believes he's beautiful when I doubt he even gets hot somali girls. Now if we go by his guidelines Somalis are also ugly compared to Arabs who have light colored eyes legit soft hair and an amazing history that actually benefitted the whole world, the prophet of their religion is from their people.

[quote author=alanmwene]By the way,why do you call yourself "zairois"?Do you know from which tribe this name came from?Zaire is just a Portuguese deformation of the kongo word Nzadi and this "zaire" word was used by mobutu to create a fictitious and ahistorical nation associated to his person:Zaire was his creation and his property! It may better for you to call yourself katangais![/quote
Dude chill yes Mobutu was a crazy guy but if it wasn't for him we would still have out cities named after random white people , he changed the city names from French to real Sht. Lubumbashi used to be called Elisabethville he removed the mental shakels of the oppressors

You are talking rubbish!Go learn history! You want to make people believe that there was a clear divide between west kongo and East kongo? How come the lundas(Katanga) and the chokwes of angola have common ancestors Chibinda Ilunga(luba) and chinawezi(lunda)? How come the lubas are related to the Loangos/vilis of congo-brazzaville?You find the same institutions(chikumbi,chibau,etc.........) common to lubas and loangos, whereas the kongos give them slightly different names(kikumba,etc........).Granted that historically the name kongo applied to the south west of DRC,the congo-brazzalle,the north of angola and the south of gabon coz all these regions belonged to the kingdom of kongo. But this historical name was extended to all regions of the kongo river basin.Dont fake history to fulfill whatever political agenda you may have coz it wont work!In any case, you still have a lot to learn before saying any meaningful things.
Listen I'm from katanga those tribes you listed are found near the borders of those country or are immigrants who moved there a long ago when the Luba empire was expanding, some even more recently when the mineral wealth of Katanga spread and if you think I'm not joking ask any Luba or any of those people how they are treated in the capital city lubumbashi by other Kabila , ask any person from the Kasai Kabila how much they are targeted, it's the truth we aren't d the same ancestry most katangan a refer to tanzanians as our older brothers . Well my tribe does.
I'm not hating on western congo I'm just telling the world the truth
