Religion / 5 Lies Christians Are Told by zakson4real(m): 12:03pm On Sep 06, 2014
Love the Church. I have given my life to the
Church. I believe in the Church because I believe
the King reigns over everything. There is a lot to
be praised and celebrated when it comes to the
Church and Christian culture.

There is another side though. We have bought
some lies. These lies are hurting us, crippling us.
If we, as the Church, are going to become the
image of God in the world, there are lies we must
drop. Here are a few of the lies many Christians
have bought into that are crippling us.

1. Some Sins are Worse Than Others.

This is plaguing our church culture. Here’s why. It
creates only two types of people. Group one:
those that have not committed the “bad” sins.
They have avoided the worst of the worst, so
they tend to judge those that have not. Group
two: those that have committed the “bad” sins.
They’re made to believe that once their virginity
is gone or they drank too much, God is really
mad at them. The stares and judgment from
group one tends be more direct and apparent.
Eventually, most in group two come to the
realization they are just “not good enough.”

It’s true that some sins carry with them greater
consequences. Murder somebody and you get
jail time, gossip about your roommate and you
get nothing. Both are sins. One has greater
consequences. But this idea that avoiding a
particular group of sins makes you more
awesome than the group that has not is utterly
ridiculous. We are all sinners.

It is time for Christians to stop ranking sins. The
Cross is for every person. Let’s treat people this
way.

It is time for Christians to stop ranking sins. The
Cross is for every person. Let’s treat people this
way.

2. God is Not OK With Doubt and Anger.

In a way, the logic for this mindset makes sense.
It is disrespectful to yell at our earthly father and
doubt his ways, so it must be the same (and
more so) with God.

But this idea discounts most of Psalms, where
the psalmists write clearly of their doubt and
anger with God. Listen, God is all powerful. His
love for you is so deep He sent His son to give
you life. He can handle some doubt and anger.
He knows this life is hard. He knows we are
limited.

If you are reading this and have doubts about
God, welcome to the club. We’ve all struggled
with doubt, but doubt is an opportunity to draw
near to God, not run from Him.

3. God’s Love for Me is Determined by My
Behavior.

The problem here is that we think too highly of
ourselves. We think we can control our behavior
and be “good” and then God will love us.

But I suck at living up to God’s standard. Even on
my most awesome day, I still end up light years
short of God’s standard.

You are a child of God for one reason: What
Jesus did for you. It’s not about you. You can’t
earn God’s love. You can’t earn God’s favor. You
are driving down an exhausting road. Take the
next exit and get off!

You are awesome because of God. When you
really suck at life, praise God. His love for you
hasn’t changed. When you knock it out of the
park, praise God. His love for you hasn’t
changed.

4. We Should Never ‘Water Down’ the Message.

All right, some of you are ready to write me off.
Hear me out.

I am not interested in changing the message. The
message must stay the same. It is the message
of Jesus that transforms lives. It is of first
importance (I Cor. 15:1-3). I am interested in
changing the delivery of the message. This idea
that we should never alter the message so those
who do not know Jesus can comprehend it is
ridiculous.

I was talking recently with a guy who did not
grow up in church. He has been a Christian for
about 20 years now, but he told me, “I struggle to
understand the message most Sundays. I don’t
speak the language. So, most of the time I just
tune out when the sermon starts.”

Translation: Christians often speak a language
that is native to us, but foreign to those who have
no framework for God. Call it Christianese. Call it
whatever. But it is prideful to believe people
should constantly reach up to our level.

Yes, we have a standard. Yes, we are called to be
holy. But that isn’t the issue here. The issue is
making the Gospel clear to everyone. It is
equivalent to expecting a toddler to comprehend
high school concepts. Ridiculous.

Christians often speak a language that is native
to us, but foreign to those who have no
framework for God.

Churches that are bringing non Christians to
Jesus get this. The message is not watered down.
It is convicting, and it is powerful. But it is not
littered with big Christian words that only locals
understand.

5. God Wants Me to Be Happy.

The word “happy” appears six times in the Bible,
none of those in reference to God’s intention for
your life. This is not a bad thing, though.
Happiness is more fleeting than a relationship on
The Bachelor.

Right now, I am in a great mood. How quickly
can that change? Happiness is almost always tied
to the present. If we constantly lived for our
current happiness, what a miserable life most of
us would have. How many times has something
awesome birthed from something not so
awesome?

The good news for you and me is that God is
much more concerned with lasting qualities such
as joy and peace. Those qualities are unaffected
by the fragility of life.

Nairaland / General / Asari-dokubo Arrested In Benin Republic : Via: @sahara Reporters by zakson4real(m): 1:21am On Nov 27, 2013
The leader of the Niger Delta People’s
Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari,
was today arrested in Cotonou, Benin
Republic.
A statement by his lawyer, Festus Keyamo,
said Dokubo was picked up by the police
between 1:00pm and 2:00pm around the
Lubeleyi roundabout, and taken to an
unknown destination.
The wealthy former militant reportedly
opened a private university in the Benin
Republic, the King Amachree African
University that is preparing to start degree-
awarding programmes in 2014.
“We want to emphasise that Alhaji Dokubo-
Asari carries on legitimate business and has
been living partly in Benin Republic for many
years now,” Keyamo said in his statement.
“In fact, he owns houses, schools and an
academy in that country. All these places
have been searched as at this evening and
nothing incriminating was found.”
He suggested that Dokubo’s arrest and
detention may be a ploy by “certain forces in
Nigeria in unholy alliance with the Beninoise
government” to keep his client away as 2015
approaches.
“We call on the Nigerian government to
immediately intervene and ensure that no
harm befalls Alhaji Dokubo-Asari and to use
all diplomatic means to secure his immediate
release and safe return to Nigeria,” he said.
Dokubo has in recent times vowed that
unless Mr. President Jonathan retains the
presidency in 2015, Nigeria would break up.
Sports / Conversation With A Golden Eagletparent by zakson4real(m): 11:14am On Nov 25, 2013
Telephone rings…….
Chief Effiong……Hello who is this?
Alhaji Maigari...If I am on to Chief Effiong, I
am Aminu Maigari the President of the NFF
Chief Effiong….Ah interesting how are you?
You are the one who wants to teach me
how to manage my son? When I bought
him his first ball when he was three years
old where were you? At age six, I got him a
football boot because I knew he was
destined for greatness.
You needed to be at my house on that day
of the final. Over fifty people came to watch
the match with me. Neighbours, relatives
and well wishers they all came.
And my wife had to cook for all of them
because we knew there was going to be a
celebration at the end of the match.
Do you know how much we spent for food
and the drinks?
Without consulting me as the father, you
went and wrote the two million naira
cheque in his name. Do you know how
much we spend every time he plays? You
went and wrote a two million naira cheque
in the name of a 16 year old?
I want to return the cheque so that you can
reissue it in my name.
Alhaji Maigari.….on the contrary sir, I advice
that you use the cheque to open an account
in his name, so that as he grows up you can
help him to invest and….
Chief Effiong.. ( cuts in ) Invest what? I have
told you what we have put in so far to
bring him to this level and you want to put
enmity between me and my son?
Alhaji Maigari….God forbid sir. In fact that is
why I called to first of all congratulate you
for siring a child who has the potential of
becoming a great footballer if properly
nurtured
Chief Effiong….Did you hear when I told you
that I knew he was going to be great? Look
if not for injury, today I would have been
one of Nigeria’s best footballers. I played
for my primary school and I was always the
one called upon to take corner kicks…
Alhaji Maigari….No wonder your son is so
good. Congrats Sir. As earlier said we will
find time to sit with you and discuss how
best to handle your son’s future, because
right from UAE, we noticed the influx of
scouts who we believe can short circuit the
future of these boys if we do not intervene.
Chief Effiong…listen Alahaji Maigari, I am not
a novice, I know what is good for my son
and I do not need you to tell me about his
future…
Alhaji Maigari.….hold on sir, talk to the
Honourable Sports Minister.
Chief Effiong….Hon Minister, are you one of
those who want to reap from where you
did not sow?
Hon Minister…..I beg your pardon
Chief…..reap from where we did not sow? If
you must know. We are the ones that have
sowed. This country invested millions in
those children. For the past three years we
have given them the best in terms of
comfort of living and personal
development. I don’t know about your son,
but nearly all those kids stayed in hotels for
the first time when we took them over.
None of them had flown in an aircraft
before. Since we adopted them they have
benefited the best of training from first
class coaches and international academies.
Ask them about the Aspire Academy in
Dubai, five star hotels, best of airlines……
they owe this country Sir you owe us for
bringing your child to the level where he
has become a global celebrity…dines with
Presidents, met face to face with Mr Vice
President, Senate President, Speaker of The
House, Ministers…..
Chief Effiong ….Hon Minister, I withdraw my
statement.. I think you have a point
there…..I apologise. In fact it was when he
always came back from camp that we
discovered he could eat rice with a fork and
knife.
Hon Minister.…Apology accepted. Sir I asked
the NFF President to call you because I
heard, and authoritatively too, that an agent
offered you one million naira which you
collected….
Chief Effiong….Don’t go there….don’t just go
there. A whole country gave my son two
million naira, an individual brought one
million naira and you are querying me…?
Hon Minister…The federal Government’s
donation was an appreciation, one that is
bound to open the flood gates for more of
such. The one million naira from the agent
may be an invitation to slavery, a bet that
you may regret…..
Chief Effiong …What makes you think you
people are the only ones that know about
football?
Hon Minister.…Far from it, we are not the
only ones, but this is our culture medium.
We plan and sincerely too to bring together
experts in the business to sit down with all
the parents of the kids and the kids
themselves to advice on the way forward.
We have multiples examples of bright
youngsters whose careers were destroyed
by self seeking and selfish agents. We do
not want that to happen to this glorious
bunch at our disposal.
Let me also congratulate you for being the
father of such a wonderful footballer as I
hand you back to the NFF President
Alhaji Maigari….So sir we are planning to
come and see you.
Chief Effiong….Are you coming alone?
Alhaji Maigari…No sir, I am likely to come
with one of the coaches and the chairman
of the technical committee of the NFF. In
fact if possible with other members of that
committee including Chairman Christian
Chukwu, JJ Okocha, Victor Ikpeba, Garba
Lawal…….those who have seen it all and are
in a position to give wise counsel…….we
also have your country man Paul Bassey in
that committee
Chief Effiong……Ah Paul Bassey….we are
proud of him. Tell him I saw him on Tv
during the Algeria Burkina Faso match. He
has added weight…..he is chopping FIFA
money….
Alhaji Maigari....We thought so too but when
we confronted him he said the cold forced
him to wear two jackets that is why he
appeared fat…
Chief Effiong …..None of you will admit to
chopping money until we catch you with oil
on your lips. On a serious note, let me know
when you will come because we must
celebrate with a feast
Alhaji Maigari…..Sir, that will not be
necessary. What we are coming for is
serious, bordering on the future of your
child and of course the sustained sports
glory of this country.
Chief Effiong….My friend we in this part of
this country are noted for culinary
excellence ask Paul Bassey. Do you know
what it means to be visited by the Award
winning NFF president? I am not talking
about all those junk you eat in hotels….I am
talking about home made buffet that
includes afangsoup, edikang ikon, white
soup with goat meat to go with pounded
yam, fresh fish pepper soup……..do you eat
dog meat?
Alhaji Maigari…..No thanks I don’t like it.
Chief Effiong… What is no thanks? How can
you not like what you have not tasted? The
day you eat well prepared dog meat with
unripe plantain to boot that day you will
bow…..
Alhaji Maigari…(..laughter)……I pray that day
does not come ( more laughter) so sir in
summary of what the Honourable minister
said, it is our desire and the wish of all
Nigerians that these boys be guided and
monitored for a better tomorrow. Rather
than collect a one million that is like a one
off…
Chief Effiong….President, forget this one
million….forget it. I have collected it and
have spent it, except you want to refund
it…
Alhaji Maigari…..Sir I was saying that rather
than collecting a one off, we will prefer a
500,000 thousand that will come again and
again…..I give you the classic case of Mikel
Obi and how two great clubs Man U and
Chelsea were fighting for him. On paper,
Man U was the better choice, but a lot of
other factors were taken into consideration
in counseling him, including playing
regularly and the presence of Africans in
the team that will help him settle down
faster, and today Mikel is one of the world’s
greatest footballers whose profile rises
daily…
Chief Effiong….Alhaji Maigari, I am not dumb,
I appreciate all you are trying to say…..my
only concern is that you people should
consider the interest of the parents in all
that you do. I could not have invested so
much in a child only for you to come and
issue a two million naira cheque in his
name..
Alhaji Maigari….Sir, again this is a one off.
What we are saying here is a stable future.
Go to Jos and see what Mikel has done to his
parents and siblings…..Kanu, Okocha, Finidi
George, Obafemi Martins. With the benefit of
proper counseling and good upbringing,
even the sky will not be his limit…. Chief
Effiong…Anyway, money is like a spirit. If
you don’t have, no problem, but the
moment it enters your hand you feel like
taking a big bottle of stout with every meal.
Besides this agent looked quite honest and
serious…
Alhaji Maigari…..Sir we are not saying all
agents are bad. By the time we know who
you are dealing with, he may just be
someone we can trust.
Chief Effiong….Ok till you come. You people
must bring something for me and my
wifeoooooo. You are busy chopping CAF
and FIFA money
Alhaji Maigari….( laughter )Have I also added
weight? You must be a very interesting
person.
Chief Effiong….See let me tell you, did you
see that first goal my son scored? That was
me in my youth. All I needed from my team
mates was for them to put the ball in my left
leg and off I went. My nick name was
okokobioko…….
Alhaji Maigari ( prolonged laughter….)
Politics / Why Jonathan Isguaranteed To Fail by zakson4real(m): 9:46am On Nov 11, 2013
Running a good government is not
as difficult as President Goodluck
Jonathan has made it seem. There is
no magic to why nations succeed
or fail. It’s all about the quality of
the mind of the leader. And until
President Jonathan does a mind
transplant, he is guaranteed to fail.
Last week, the Ghanaian president,
John Mahama, fired a minister,
Victoria Hammah, who played a
major role in his election as
president. Her offence? She was
caught on tape saying she would
remain in politics until she made a
million dollars. In Nigeria, that’s
about N160 million. Note that
Victoria Hammah was not yet guilty
of corruption. So why should we
be surprised that Ghana has done
so well in the past few years so
much so that we now send our
children to schools in the country,
troop to its hospitals for treatment,
and those who can afford it are
locating their holiday homes there?
Ghana is not even nearly as
endowed as Nigeria. Yet, it has
recorded an average of 8 per cent
growth rate consistently for a very
long time. It produces only 115,000
barrels of crude per day, which is
less than a third of the total
quantity stolen by oil thieves in
Nigeria without repercussions
whatsoever. Officially, Nigeria is
supposed to be producing 2.5
million barrels per day; with a
better president, we can produce
up to 4 million barrels daily. No
president in the world ever
achieves anything if that president
does not see corruption as a
grievous crime. President Jonathan
does not think that corruption is
such a big deal and he does not
even pretend about it.
As always, President Jonathan is
currently in a rowdy corruption
row. Stella Oduah, his very dear
minister, has been caught red-
handed with her fingers in the till.
Nigerians everywhere, including
several members of the president’s
government and party, think Stella
should resign, and, if she refuses,
the president should sack her just
like his Ghanaian counterpart did.
Instead, what we hear filtering out
of Jonathan’s villa is that Stella is
being persecuted because she is
Igbo. What has being Igbo got to do
withstealing? Some of the fiercest
advocates of “Stella must go” are
Igbo. The truth is that it is not Stella
that is on trial here; it is Jonathan
himself. And if he insists on keeping
her, it is he that should go.
During the latest media chat,
someone asked the president what
he thought about corruption in his
government. Every other president,
even the most thieving president in
the world, would have pretended
and talked tough about fighting
corruption. But not our president!
Instead, he started quoting a
nebulous report which placed
corruption as the fourth most
serious problem facing Nigeria. It
was not the first, second or third,
he said, feeling very happy with
himself. So what if corruption was
placed fourth in the order of
Nigeria’s problems? Does that mean
it is not an issue?
It’s not only Stella’s aviation cars
that do not mean anything to the
president. The N1.6 trillion fuel
subsidy heist also means absolutely
nothing to the president; the N100
billion stolen police pension fund
means nothing to the president. It
was the Senate that was more
concerned and the president was
even accused of shielding the thief.
The Nuhu Ribadu Report means
nothing to the president. There are
sundry others.
Lee Kuan Yew, former prime
minister of Singapore and one
credited with transforming his very
tiny backward state into a First
World nation, has proved that
running a good government is not
nuclear science. He said that the
first thing he tackled as prime
minister was the corruption issue.
He made it very clear that no
country can ever make progress if
it is soft on corruption. Till today,
Singapore remains harsh on
corruption. President Jonathan
would gladly say that Singapore is a
small country compared to Nigeria;
what about China? China moved
from a very big, backward and
messy country into the country
with the second largest economy in
the world today and on its way to
becoming the biggest economy in
the world in the coming years.
Listen to the Chinese leaders speak
on corruption and you know one of
thereasons they are doing so well.
China is one of the very few
countries in the world where some
types of corruption carry the death
sentence.
But I know our president doesn’t
care and doesn’t give a damn. That
is why he will never succeed as
president of Nigeria or even as
chairman of a local government.
EARSHOT
‘Jonathan Under Pressure To Run’
A presidential handler amused the
world last week when he said
Jonathan was under pressure to
run. Of course, Jonathan is under
pressure to run. There are so many
groups that want the president to
run, most especially thieves (both
government officials and oil
thieves). But the presidential
handler is even more correct than
he realises. It is not only the thieves
that want Jonathan to run. I also
desperately want Jonathan to run.
That is the surest way to dismantle
that gangster party called the PDP.
Nigeria desperately needs to move
forward; so please Jonathan run,
run, run.

Politics / You Deserve The Insults Of Don’t Give A Damn Government by zakson4real(m): 6:40am On Nov 03, 2013
“Every country has the government it
deserves”, Joseph de Maistre, August 15,
1811.
The PUNCH of Wednesday October 23, 2013
was for me particularly remarkable. Its
reports – regular columns and opinions –
summarized all Nigerians need to know
about the government they
overwhelmingly elected in 2011. Many long
term readers of this column would recall my
strident calls for Nigerians to massively
reject the PDP, including Jonathan, at the
polls. My reason was simple. Based on
information at my command, some of
which was published in my book, PDP:
CORRUPTION INCORPORATED, Nigeria could
never get out of the mess in which we are
stuck as long as the PDP, as presently
constituted, is in power at the centre. And,
by power, I mean the legislature as well as
the Presidency.
I continue to recollect how even highly
intelligent persons, the professors of ASUU,
and others, just as intelligent but not wise,
allowed themselves to be persuaded that
Jonathan could head a political party
remarkably different in style from the one
Obasanjo headed. And, let me hasten to add
that, Obasanjo headed what some believe to
be the most corrupt government in Nigeria
from 1999 to 2007. Some of the evidence is
there in that book.
Even as the votes for the 1999 elections,
which brought Obasanjo to power for the
second time were still to be ratified by INEC,
the President-elect granted an interview to
CNN – because for OBJ, charity begins
abroad, not at home. Asked what would be
his top priorities, he declared, with feigned
sincerity, that he would reduce poverty and
fight corruption to a standstill. Instead, he
left more Nigerian living in poverty than he
met in 1999 and headed what is believed to
be the most corrupt government in history.
He has since April 2010, when Jonathan
became President, emerged as President-
Emeritus giving advice, even when not
asked and often the wrong ones when
asked. If a man is known by the company
he keeps, a President can also be judged by
the type of advisers he chooses. Judged
strictly on his own two top priorities –
poverty alleviation and corruption
eradication – Obasanjo was a failure. And he
failed because instead of eradicating
corruption he fostered it.
Fish rots from the head; as most people
who grew up along the waterways know.
The PDP has been led by people who “don’t
give a damn”, about Nigerians, to use the
words of the current President – Goodluck
Jonathan. They have also appointed into top
office, mostly people who are clones of
themselves. The truth is; bad leaders cannot
be comfortable with selfless public servants.
Incidentally, when I read in the papers,
criticism of Jonathan’s administration by the
likes of Fani-Kayode and Dr Ezekwesili, what
passes through my mind is that this is a
case of the kettle calling the pot black. Fani-
Kayode, like his predecessor in the office of
the Ministry of Aviation, is still facing
corruption charges. Until exonerated, he
should be the last person to cast aspersions
at Princess Oduah. Where, at any rate, were
they when Petroleum Development Trust
Fund, PDTF, money was used to purchase a
Peugeot 607, for a woman of easy virtue
contrary to the provisions of the Decree
which established the Fund?
It is in my book. What is the difference
between that and “Oduahgate”?
Prominent among the stories in the PUNCH
of that day was one titled:
PRESIDENTIAL FLEET LARGER THAN THREE
DOMESTIC AIRLINES. It then went on to
inform us that the Nigerian presidential fleet
had more planes than those of Germany,
Britain, Netherlands, and other larger
economies of the world. If that was
supposed to be a reflection on President
Jonathan, the author of that and the writer
of another piece titled A PRESIDENT’S
FLEETING FANCY were telling us stale stories
and they were putting the blame only on
Jonathan when the origin remains
untouched. Like a doctor, treating
symptoms instead of the causes of
diseases, they would not go very far.
To start with Jonathan was not the
originator of large presidential fleets. One
commentator said to me that he did not
expect a man who confessed to going to
school shoeless to engage in such
profligacy. I had to remind him that
Obasanjo, who was the originator of large
presidential fleets, which did not disturb
Fani-Kayode or Dr Oby, was also born poor,
and he left prison almost destitute in 1998.
That did not stop him from sending a
request to the National Assembly in 1999
for a jet which was superior to what the
Queen of England, not born shoeless, uses.
That also did not stop him from giving N10
billion for Poverty Alleviation Programme,
PAP, for which there has been no account till
today. From the same PDTF account
Obasanjo paid N300 million for the
registration of a company in Nigeria; a task
which could have been undertaken by any
“Charge and Bail” for two million and he
would consider himself overpaid. I cannot
recollect Fani-Kayode or anyone else in his
cabinet raising objections and going to the
press to denounce it. Apparently something
is either good or bad depending on
whether you serve in the government
involved or not. We are sick and tired of the
self-righteousness of OBJ’s people.
President Jonathan and former President
Obasanjo
The truth is Obasanjo designed the template
for the waste and fraud and it was
supported and funded by the PDP-
controlled National Assembly; partly
because all the Senate Presidents, the party’s
National Chairmen and other officials, close
to the corridors of power, also use the
planes for vainglorious reasons. The crash
of a presidential helicopter, which took the
lives of the former National Security Adviser
and a Governor, while running kabukabu
errand for Jonathan’s Senior Special Adviser,
is a clear testimony to uses for which this
mammoth fleet has been established and
retained. A President of Nigeria can only use
one aircraft at a time and not everyday; so
why have ten? Don’t ask Jonathan alone
that question, ask Obasanjo as well. He
started it.
That N9.2 billion per annum is spent on
running costs of the PRESIDENTIAL AIRLINE
is also stale news. What Nigerians need to
know are the opportunity costs of the N9.2
billion, to which the “don’t give a damn”
PDP presidents have subjected Nigerians.
They were, of course, ably supported by
David Mark as two-time Senate President
and his predecessors in office. To the best
of my knowledge, no single Senate
President or Speaker of the House had ever
objected to the maintenance of a large fleet.
They had faithfully budgeted for them – as
members of a cabal are supposed to do for
OGA.
Why stop at planes alone, if we want to root
out official waste and corruption
completely. We should also ask how many
cars are in the Presidential fleet, the models
and costs. Nigerians will again be
astonished by how much gap there is
between their President, leader of one of
the poorest nations on earth and those of
the USA, Germany, China, Japan, Brazil and
even South Africa. Aso Rock is like the
parking lot of a luxury car dealer. Out of our
three civilian Presidents since 1999, the
most prudent, Yar’Adua, was ironically the
only one of noble birth. The other two, born
poor, had not spared a thought for how
many poor people can be helped by their
prodigal spending on frivolities.
The day before Wednesday’s stories, which
includes comments about Madam Aviation’s
cars, procured at outrageous prices, PUNCH
had informed us about N3 billion being
spent by the Federal Capital Authority, FCA,
to build houses for National Assembly
leaders whose remunerations had been
monetized after Obasanjo (again, you say!),
unilaterally sold off the houses that were
provided for them to the occupants. Tucked
in that story was another scandal authored
by OBJ.
The former Speaker, Dimeji Bankole, was
allowed to go away with his own palatial
residence for a paltry N45 million. He now
lets it out for N40 million per annum.
Perhaps, it was another coincidence that
Bankole and Obasanjo are both PDP
members from Abeokuta. Perhaps! But,
where else does a patriotic President sell off
his country’s property at less than the
market price and where else does a patriotic
Speaker buy the same knowing that the
nation is being cheated out of funds
needed for the seventy per cent poor?
Where else?
Politics / 100 Jonathans Cannot Be Compared Tobuhari – Tam David-west by zakson4real(m): 11:45pm On Oct 30, 2013
Former Petroleum Minister, Prof. Tam David-
West, says the only reason Governor Rotimi
Amaechi of Rivers State is being harrassed by
some political forces is his refusal to be
anybody’s ‘Yes man’.
Prof. David-West, speaking on a radio
programme in Port Harcourt, also asked
President Goodluck Jonathan to be wary of
the Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark and leader
of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force
(NDPVF), Alhaji Mujaheed Dokubo-Asari. He
said neither of them had the powers to make
him win the 2015 election.
David-West showered encomiums on General
Muhammadu Buhari, who he said stood tall
when compared to President Jonathan in
terms of achievement as Nigeria’s leader.
According to the former minister, Amaechi
has had to fight alleged injustice of ceding oil
wells belonging to Rivers State in the Kalabari
axis to President Jonathan’s Bayelsa State.
This, he said has not gone down well with
some people.
He added: “I am not a politician. No amount
of money in the world can make me to
change my mind. I support causes, not
persons. What has Amaechi done wrong? He
has not done anything wrong. Professional
praise singers are making millions of naira
through the crisis.
“Those who said Amaechi has received N2.4
trillion since he became Rivers governor,
without commensurate projects on the
ground, are talking rubbish. The Kalabari
people fighting Amaechi are not serious.
They are not more Kalabari than me. Amaechi
has not disappointed Kalabari people.”
Pressed to assess President Jonathan’s
achievements, he said: “I am an unapologetic
critic of President Jonathan. I do not support
you because you are an Ijaw person, from
the South South zone or a Niger Deltan. I
support performers. Twenty four per cent of
Jonathan’s votes came from the South South.
“It is completely illogical to say Jonathan must
be re-elected in 2015, because he is a South
South man. Jonathan is not a South South
President, but the President of Nigeria.
“Clark, Dokubo-Asari and others cannot save
Jonathan in 2015. In an interview in a
national newspaper on June 15, 2012,
Dokubo-Asari declared that Jonathan would
not go beyond 2015 as President. Why is he
speaking from both sides of his mouth?
“You cannot compare one hundred
Jonathans to one Buhari. I will always give
my support to Buhari. He is the finest man I
have ever known. Negative things that they
say about him are not factual. I will continue
to work for Buhari.
“Corruption is the bane of Nigeria. Buhari is
against corruption. Buhari is not corrupt. He
is very clean and disciplined. Election rigging
is worse than armed robbery. Buhari wants
free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria.”

Politics / How To Remain As Governoreven If Mentally Sick! by zakson4real(m): 3:32pm On Aug 28, 2013
1. First, be a
member of the best
criminal political party in Africa 2.
Make sure you are elected as governor of your state based on
your religion. Forget about integrity
and character and vision - they
don't count here 3. Use public funds
to build a replica
of the State Government House in your village, and be operating from
there most often in addition to
Abuja the federal capital 4. Convert
the state's financial
resources into your own personal
account 5. Forget about infrastructural
development. Even if some people
complain ask your media people to
label them as bad losers 6. While in
office enrol as a trainee
pilot in one of the flight training schools 7. Meanwhile build a mini-
airport in
your village for your own use 8.
Neglect to develop all the roads in
the state 9. Purchase your own
aircraft with the public funds you have converted
for your personal use 10. Begin to
fly the plane by yourself
even though you just spent six
months training as a pilot 11.
Meanwhile cause your deputy to be removed by your State House of
Assembly over charges of financial
fraud, a crime which you are guilty
of billions of times over 12. Appoint
a more malleable deputy
you think you can trust 101% 13. Your plane crashes with you as
pilot in a forest area not far from
your own state 14. You were initially
assumed dead
but by a stroke of miracle you
didn't die 15. The hospitals in the country
which idiots and rogues like you in
power neglected to develop cannot
manage your critical health
condition 16. Public funds that could
have been used to better the poor have to be
used to fly you overseas for
specialists to handle you 17. It
happens that you are brain
damaged, and you cannot function
positively in any work (except perhaps your bedroom duty) 18.
Concerns are raised about your
inability to work, for the law is
clear that you shouldn't remain as
governor 19. Problem is, your deputy
is not of the same religion with you 20. Your
state branch of the
Religious Association of Nigeria
(RAN) will make it clear that they
will not have someone of a
different religion as governor, and a good number of the citizens in
your state will agree with them
because they think the state is only
for them 21. Your loyalists and the
other
religious bigots will engage in all manner of propaganda about your
health recovery 22. They arrange for
you to return
home in your sordid state of health
so that you can takeover
governance 23. They use trusted aides to prop
you up at the various airports, and
they also shield you from news
reporters. In fact, they make you to
even snub your loyal deputy who
was at the airport to receive and welcome you 24. Be sure not to
make a state
wide broadcast on radio and
television so that the people will
not see that you are actually a
vegetable with incoherent speech 25. You takeover governance, take
an official leave of duty, and go
back to the U.S.A for continuation
of treatment so that that other
religion does not become full time
governor and convert everyone in your state to his religion by force!
Hahaha.... 26. Meanwhile public funds
will
continue to flow to you and your
family in millions 27. Your people will
be happy because, at least someone of their
religion is still the governor even if
he is now a vegetable 28. Then what
next? 29. Then stupidity of the
electorate
continues. That's all. # TarabaStateWakeUp # #

Family / Wonder Child Born With A Miracletasabih Muslim Rosary In Bida by zakson4real(m): 6:22am On Jul 15, 2013
A child
was born today, around 2 pm, in
Bida with a Tasabih Muslim rosary
around its neck. Our reporters learnt that the mother of the child,
a Yoruba woman, went to a popular
midwifery outfit, known as ‘Asibiti
Shasha’, at Emi Sarkin Kudu in the
Kota Woro neighbourhood of Bida
when she felt she was in labour. The midwife, a Nupe woman, said that
after safely delivering the child she
felt a cord around the neck of the
child which she mistook for the usual
umbilical cord. But as she made to
remove and cut the cord she realized that this was not the
umbilical cord at all. The midwife
said as she tried to pull on this
strange cord it expanded and grew
larger in size. That was when she
called others to come and see what was happening. When they poured
water on the cord and washed it
they were all shocked to see that it
was a Muslim rosary usually called
Tasabih in Nupe or Tasbaha in Hausa.
They said when they tried to pull the Tasabih rosary from the child the
rosary grew larger and began to
shine and glow. Eventually the child
itself held on to the Tasabih rosary.
A gargantuan crowd of curious
Bidacizhi immediately gathered round the Sarkin Kudu house to such
an extent that the Kota Woro road
was almost blocked. This latest
happening has shocked and
mesmerized Bidacizhi and is
immediately the most popular topic of discussion not only in Bida but in
all parts of KinNupe and Niger State
already. Many Muslims and Islamic
scholars are saying that this is a
divine miracle from Allah as a
blessing in this holy month of Ramadan. Below are pictures of the
