RomanceRe: Top Ten Reasons For Relationships Break Up by Zamar: 3:59pm On Apr 16, 2019
ThrillPlus:
Here are 10 primary reasons why breakups and divorces happen, and 10 ways to avoid them.
1. Bad behaviors.
Maybe when you were young, it was cool to be “bad,” but as an adult, especially if you have a family, those old behaviors, whatever they may be (smoking, drinking, chewing tobacco, or spending your children’s college tuition on Botox or fantasy football), have to stop. If you can’t do it on your own, your next step is rehab. Start now, and by next year you may be a new person.

Fellow Nigerians, a lot of things have been happening in our nation that call for concern. Politically, economically and security wise, things are tough. I humbly suggest the following remedies as ways out:
1 Let us seek the face of the Lord, Whether we are Christians or not, as long as we believe in God, let us remember that if we diligently seek the face of the Lord, He will heal our land.
2. Let us lead righteous life. The Bible says righteousness exalts a nation. The level of wickedness in our nation is too much. Violence, killings, kidanapping, ritual deaths and many other evil practices are too many. Let there love and unity.

God bless us all.

PoliticsThe Victims by Zamar(op):
Let no man or woman rejoice over the sufferings of other humans.
Let no one mock the travails of others.
It is bad enough to be the victims.
But who are the victims?
They are the ones who believe in brawn rather than brain.
They look up to man for deliverance rather than looking up to God.
The victims are the ones who refuse to be as gentle as a dove but as wise as a serpent.
They preach hatred rather than love.
But the victims can stop being the victims,
if they seek wisdom - the principal thing.

Modified
The victims are those who helplessly find themselves at the mercy of tragic incidents.
RIP to the tanker accident victims, to the Jos killings, and to other victims of senselessness.

The Yoruba agitation then and even now is a productive one.
You are quite right. The essence of that article is to point out the fact the Yorubas are not 'parasitic' and are not afraid of being on their own. Yorubas actually deserve respect for having foresight.

In my opinion, the Northerners are perfectly entitled to consider whether or not they should secede from the indissoluble union which nature has formed between it and the South, but it would be calamitous to the corporate existence of the North should the clamour for secession prevail. I, therefore, counsel Northern leaders to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of secession before embarking upon this dangerous course.

As one who was born in the North, I have a deep spiritual attachment to that part of the country, but it would be a capital political blunder if the North should break away from the South. The latter is in a better position to make rapid constitutional advance, so that if the North should become truncated from the South, it would benefit both Southerners and Northerners who are domiciled in the South more than their kith and kin who are domiciled in the North. - Nnamdi Azikiwe 1953

http://www.blackpast.org/1953-nnamdi-azikiwe-speech-secession
A year after that speech, Zik went ahead to align with the North in ensuring that 'seccession' clause was not included in the constitution. Was that not a political blunder?

Ojukwu and Igbos? with all your backbone, what did you get losing over 3M souls? zilch!! With all your backbone, it took a secondary school teacher's magnanimity to grant your lord amnesty to come back into his father's house in Nnewi.
With all your backbone, it took not a bullet but intelligent to end the war with blockade to deny you food and other supplies.

The difference between you and Yoruba is clear, Yorubas know that you don't go into a war you are not 100% certain to come victorious, while you act without thinking only to come back to blame others for your woes you foolishly go into.
Now, you are about to repeat the same mistake your fathers made.

Only if Zik was with half the foresight of Awolowo, you Ibos will not be in this mess you are in Nigeria, Awo saw the need to insert a secession clause in our independent constitution, because he consulted wide and far about issues of new nations and how nationhood works, but the greed of an ibo man in Zik and the fears of an Hausa man in Bello put paid to it
Sentiments apart, Awolowo was indeed a visionary leader. However, as at that time Zik preferred alliance with NPC.

Yorubas threatening secession? Is that a joke or what? Secession is for people with backbone such as Ojukwu and Igbos.

Secession is not for those who are still in Nigeria begging the North for restructuring.

Maybe Awolowo did suggest that secession be added to the contitution but that in no way implies that the Yorubas ever threatend secession.
As at that time in 1954, the other reprsentatives saw it as a threat to national unity.

Seccession is not a new thing in Nigeria. Even before independence, there was a threat of seccession.
During the 1954 London constitutional conference, the Action Group ( a political party predomant in the western part and associated with the Yoruba) made a demand that the right for seccession be put in the constitution of the emerging nation.
According to Tekena N. Tamuno in The Journal of Modern African Studies, 1970 (and also available on Wikipedia) and other historical facts, the other major political parties namely NCNC (led by Nnamdi Azikiwe) and NPC (led by Sir Ahmadu Bello) viewed the provision of 'seccession clause' as detrimental to the unity and progress of Nigeria and therefore rejected it.
If the seccession clause had been accepted, the Biafran/Nigerian civil war would have been unneccesay.. Certainly, the current agitations would be a thing of the past.
Ever since that Independece constitution which ushered in Nigeria's independence, the Nigerian law did not allow seccession.
PoliticsRe: Biafra/IPOB What Exactly Is The Fear Of The Fed.govt.? by Zamar: 7:29pm On Sep 04, 2017
The issue of referendum is not as easy as it appears. Presently, there is no clause for it in the constitution.
It is not a thing the President or the Executive can declare by fiat. It is is going to happen, the National Assembly will be involed and the constitution must be amended to accommodate it before it can take place.

Politics3 Genuine Ways Nigeria Can Be Restructed by Zamar(op): 7:05pm On Aug 24, 2017
In Nigeria today, the clamour for restucturing is becoming more strident by the day. From former Vice President Atiku to prominent leaders from southern Nigeria, it appears the common lingua now is 'restructure'.
How can we achieve this? Is it something the federal government can just declare by fiat? Is it something that is possible in a short time? This write up will attempt to answer these questions.
1. One of the most pragmatic ways to achieve fiscal restructuring or power devolution or whatever change we desire is through constitued means. One of these is the existing national assembly, as unpalatable as this may sound to some people. Vested interest groups will need to bombard their representatives with their demands or agitations. That is one of the legimiate ways to go about it. Civic groups, interest groups, regional bodies and so on can meet on the things that will be restructed. There will be need for reaching to various people and even other ethnic and interest groups in the country. This is to bring about people-oriented constitution that we have always desired. No group can do it all alone.
2. There will be need for patience. Restructuring takes time. Consultaions, reaching agreements and making compromises will definately take some time. No group can have all its demands met. There will be need to fashion out agreements and to make some concessions, and all these take time. Those giving ultimatum are only heating up the polity, although the ultimatum has served as a wake up call on the government on the fact that people desire changes. Practically, things like resructuring a nation can not be achieved as fast and as easy as some people will want us believe.
3. Demands can be made in a very civil manner without recourse to vile and gutter language. There is also no need to abuse or curse any person, ethnic or group of persons. The current spate of hate expressions in Nigeria is sickening. Let us be decent, please.
Let us all work assiduously for a better society. I believe that with sincerity of purpose and determination, things will turn around for good.
PoliticsKanu Is A Kid, Can' Be Leader - Igbokwe by Zamar(op): 3:08pm On Aug 13, 2017
In an interview conducted by Punch newspaper reporter 13th August, Joe Igbokwe revealed that Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader is only a 'kid' who does not have the qualities to be Igbo leader. He said even the late Ojukwu would not support the hate speeches and violence that Kanu propagated. Igbokwe admitted that the Igbos are marginalized but insisted that a united Nigeria where fairness, justice, and equity reign is better than a Biafra with constrained space.

Something like this should not happen. In as much as people have the right to demand for autonomy, I strongly believe it should be devoid of harrassment, intimidation, hatred and violence.
