Don't get discouraged.
1. walk into the bank of ur choice or any branch of ur bank where ur money is, ask them for their current rate.
They'll give u 3 offers, which will be around 91 days,182 days, 365 days at different rates can range from 9% - 15%. Could be higher depends on period.
2. write a letter addressed to the branch manager, stating ur account,the amount u wish to invest and the tenor,which is the number of days U've chosed.
3. Ur account will be debited but leaving u ur interest. which is the face value. A notification should be sent to ur email with the details.

To calculate ur interest for example on N1.2 mil at a rate of 10.5% for 91days

1200000 × 10.5/100 = 126000
so u get N126000 for a period of 365 days
But u went with 91 days , so...
365÷91= 4.011, I don't know how many decimal places bankers use.

Then....

126000÷4.011= 31,413.61
Ur interest on N1.2mil for 91days at 10.5% N31,413

Face value: N1.2 mil
Discounted value: 1,200,000 - 31,413 = 1,168,587
N1,168,587 will be debited from ur account which implies that ur interest has been paid upfront.

Bid, when u can predict what CBN rates will be. If u bid higher then u lose our and wait till the next time. It's done thru ur bank.

A. Usually u will be asked for update on proof of funds,after PER before MR from ur local visa office. This must be unencumbered funds in form of bank account balance (they might specify the number of months or a 3 months statement will suffice) , can be in fixed deposit, treasury bills,
B. Must be c$12k(whatever is required for u) and above.

Second one was when my elder brother was graduating from the faculty of engineering in unilag...the HOD called my mum and explained to her that my elder brother couldn't be given a first class because he isn't from the West, a Yoruba...so he graduated with a 2:1. These are real facts that can be proven... This also happens to a friend of mine who graduated as a doctor from LUTH, he wasn't given as distinction because he wasn't yoruba. So when the schools are teaching tribalism what do you expect? Igbos born in the west are indirectly taught to hate their language and tribe, hence a lot of them try to be Yoruba. I feel so sad about this tribalism problem facing this country for its too far gone to be helped.

I can relate with ur write-up. Had a very similar experience many years back. I used to think our generation will correct all these but from what I've seen on social media, I've given up.
