She is pregnant and will like her mother to come for Omugwo in May 2019.

Her husband is only soft landing and will move permanently to join them in Dec 2019 as he has to complete his work contract.

She does not plan working on the interim until the baby comes. They have enough funds and her husband will keep supporting from Nigeria.

Her mother has a petty business and has never travelled before.

Please how best can they package her visit visa application.

There's nothing much the Mother can submit. They have to prove that they can support the mother. Account statements, salary pay stub etc. Do a return flight booking for her and a letter of invite for her.

I am actually in the US presently. I came in on the 5th of October but was told when I was checking in that I would need a Canadian visa for my return leg. My brother here bought the ticket and didn't check the conditions. I did some research and applied for a transit visa online but up till now there has been no update on my account. I have raised CSE three times but I keep getting the same response "your application is still in process". I am really in a fix now because I have contacted the airline and it will cost $1,066 to change my flight route! I just want to go back to Lagos in peace. I can't believe a 1hr20mins layover is giving me all this headache.

I feel your pain. They'll grant you, the issue is when? That's a weird ticket to buy though, first time seeing someone transiting from the US thru Canada to Lagos, usually the other way round. You're likely flying through Vancouver. Why not give them a call? call the Ottawa office, 8am local time.

Just curious, where are you headed to? Alaska or Greenland? There's a huge delay on almost all visas currently, just have to wait or you can raise a CSE, takes 2 weeks or more for a response.

Applied in August, still nothing. The processing time currently is 39days. Count from ur biometrics was taken.

hmmm. was that stamped on ur passport page or was it printed on a paper? It's really strange getting a Visa without biometrics.

what form is that? I know there's one u don't need to sign, just type ur name and that's it.

Still no update from CSE, however i got this feedback from their social media team to make payment for biometrics and upload the receipt through my online application or through the webform. I think that may be more practical

It is my first application, there was obviously an error in the system, because it was originally showing biometric collection fees when i started the application, but after july 31st when they rolled out the compulsory bometrics for all regions in middle east, africa and so on, the fees stopped showing. My friend that applied second week in august got the biometrics letter after 24 hours. I sent a CSE, all i have to do now is wait till they respond

Same experience. I suspect a glitch caused by their recent update. So, I just got off the phone with a staff in Ontario, she was surprised to learn of the situation, she advised I contact the Lagos vfs.

Same situation here. Aug 3rd applicant also, didn't get to pay the biometric fee too. I just hope they've started the process though.

For those that applied online after July 31st. how long did it take to get ur biometrics request. It's been 2weeks now no word from them. Thinking of raising a CSE.

No it's not the same. Nhis covers pregnancy from beginning to the end irrespective of the complications

please is there a list of Nhis hospitals in Lagos. spoke to Faith city clinic for out of pocket costs. I would like to have a health insurance.

Go to any NHIS office in ur state or wherever you are in Nigeria... Tell them you want to go for a package called VCship(not sure of the spelling).. It's #15000 one off payment.. you'll be guided as appropriate there. it really pays. it lasts for one year from the date of activation. You'll have to choose a very good hospital you're sure you'll want to birth cos that's the name that will be printed on the slip when it's ready. please don't delay as it involves some time.. if you need more information, feel free to ask me.

Now my summary.
If you want to take the chance of being wealthy,amassing so much riches in the midst of a largely suffering masses, how u made the money is nobody's business - stay in Nigeria.
If u want to live an average, decent, peaceful life. Where the essential things in life are guaranteed- go abroad.
Let me break the cost of living naija vs Canada. Using the guy doing a menial job of $2k/monthly and the big boy manager with 400k/mothly

Canada
1. single room with all the bills. $600
2. car insurance. $100
3. Gas for car. $100
4. Feeding plus flexing for a single guy. $ 100
( should be less)
5. Misc. $50
Total. $950
Can save $1k. which is roughly N400k.

Nigeria
1. Rent mini flat, surulere. N70k
2. Feeding in house and outside. N50k

5. beggy beggy from peeps as per shairman. N15k

Also note he spent large chunk of money furnishing the house as a big boy compared to the guy in Canada that moved into the house with just his clothes.

The Canada guy will spend about 30mins a day on transit to and from work.
Lagos boy will likely spend 4hrs a day on transit, shortening his rest time, ageing him, noisy and polluted air and so on....

If the Canadian guy loses his job, higher chances of him finding something else or the government pays him almost $2k monthly.
