esere826:
nice news.
however, this is to be expected
I'm sure that almost all state capitals have the highest IGR's amongst the cities in their states.

Where I think that Lagos stands out is that it is one of the few states in Nigeria that is quite welcoming to all ethnic groups.
Maybe because it has outgrown such naked ethnic narrowness

There are some cities in Nigeria that lazy indigenous youths daily lay siege at the gates of companies demanding tributes.
I know of an incident in one of such cities were my friend got a job, and the youths told the company that the job should not be given to him.

In the words of the rascals when ushering the young man out of the oil servicing company's work premises
"Na our farm be this. Una don spoil una own farm, u wan come chop for here. Gerrat!!!"

And that was the end of my friends oil career dream
All SW states are welcoming to all ethnic groups and foreigners grin grin grin grin

Somehow, if everything could be learned on our own, there wouldn't be need for the institutions of learning.
Someone can learn programming without school.. Schools are for certificates.

Why do developed countries have young highly skilled programmershuh It's cos they started learning on their own before they were 12-15 years old.
Programming › Re: How Can I Learn Programming Without Computer School. by zeroshadow: 10:07am On Nov 20, 2014
The fees you'll pay a computer school is more than enough to download free programming videos and books that the computer school would dream of teaching you... Remember, school has an end but learning is forever.. so discipline your mind and begin your self-education...

xlim:
thanks so much. will work on that now
If it doesn't work try putting it in an "if
Statement" to check if something was typed

if(isset($_POST['name1'])&&isset($_POST['school1'])&&isset($_POST['class1'])){
// Retrieve username and password from database according to user's input
$userName=mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['name1']);
$userSchool=mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['school1']);
$userClass=mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['class1']);

//*********retrieving data from Database**********

$query = "SELECT * FROM member WHERE $userName='name1', $userSchool='school1' and $userClass='class1'";
//$login = mysqli_query("SELECT userName,password FROM 'member' WHERE userName= $_post['username'] AND passWord= $_post['password'])";
// Check username and password match
$res = mysql_query($query);

$rows = mysql_num_rows($res);
if ($rows==1) {
// Set username session variable

$_SESSION['userName'] = $_POST['name1'];

// Jump to secured page
header("Location: post.php";
}
else {
// Jump to login page
echo "user name and password not found";
}

}
exit;
Programming › Re: Can Someone Kindly Help Me Correct This Error by zeroshadow: 12:02pm On Nov 19, 2014
xlim:
it's actually saying username and password not found
that's because you're calling the variables wrongly

// Retrieve username and password from database according to user's input
$userName=mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['name1']);
$userSchool=mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['school1']);
$userClass=mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['class1']);

//*********retrieving data from Database**********

$query = "SELECT * FROM member WHERE $userName='name1', $userSchool='school1' and $userClass='class1'";
//$login = mysqli_query("SELECT userName,password FROM 'member' WHERE userName= $_post['username'] AND passWord= $_post['password'])"wink;
is meant to be

// Retrieve username and password from database according to user's input
$userName=mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['name1']);
$userSchool=mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['school1']);
$userClass=mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['class1']);

//*********retrieving data from Database**********

$query = "SELECT * FROM member WHERE userName=$userName, userSchool=$userSchool and userClass='$userClass";
//$login = mysqli_query("SELECT userName,password FROM 'member' WHERE userName= $userName AND passWord= $userPass"wink;
there could be mistakes in my correction but you are not calling the your variables... you're mixing mysql and mysqli(very bad practice)... my battery is dying..

the bolded part below indicates your problem... you might be getting a database error... or undefined variable error... angry angry angry angry

//*********retrieving data from Database**********

//$login = mysqli_query("SELECT userName,password FROM 'member' WHERE userName= $_post['username'] AND passWord= $_post['password'])"wink;

If you was a teacher, you should know that the principal is not in his / her office all day long and that a principal is a very busy person with a very busy schedule.

@bold

How did the girl lie?
she lied to the teacher she submitted her papers to..

Are you sure her teacher or the teacher who invigilated the exam knew it?

And even if he knew it, why did the mother think that she was capable of coping with exam stress?

The mother should blame herself first for sending her SICK child to cope with exam stress. She has NO right to sue the school.
Its not about her suing the school... it was about the health of her child... Its not exam stress.. the girl was suicidal... no matter what happened It was her thinking that had to change and only the parents are capable of influencing her but they failed.. the chances of the girl committing suicide was high so her and her parents needed counseling

You really do not know much about how schools are run.

Do you think the principal is sitting in his / her office all day long?

On some days principals are not even at school but in the town hall negotiating with mayors on budget issues or visiting other schools and developing new concepts.

Teachers have to attend to hundreds of students. They are all important. One kid hurt himself during the break, another one is crying, another wants to talk because someone bullied her. The breaks are short. Teachers have to rush to give lessons, then they have to attend to a meeting.

We are talking about a school here, not about a mental hospital.

Like I said, if she suffered from severe depression and it was known that she was suicidal, she should not be taking exams.

The point is, her mother should be THE LAST to put the blame on others.
I've been a teacher in one of my past jobs. the point is schools have counselors... someone that cheated and has a suicidal history should be handled with supervision but the girl lied and followed her thoughts..

Why and when should they have called her parents?
she was unstable...

babyosisi:
Yes
They should have called her parents to come and collect the phone or beg her to hand it over

your reasoning is out of place..

Sagamite:
Called her parents for what?

How would that have stopped her killing herself?
she walked to the bridge alone.... if they had punished her by keeping her at the principal's office under supervision until her parents arrived it could have been preventable.... No one knows what she was going through at home.

What should the teacher have done?
called her parents or guardianhuh

babyosisi:
Don't you also wonder why her mother sent her school knowing she had mental illness?
Why does she let her out of the house ?
She should have kept her at home free from yells even at the height of provocation
Yes
That's what you are saying
Your level of ignorance is annoying...

Amd you are the one saying someone should not talk out of ignorance?
she was suffering from depression.... so the teachers didn't cause it... the teacher influenced It indirectly...

They should have left her with the phone,that's what he is saying
when did I say they should have left the phone with herhuh

My friend, I've been thru enough life experiences to know what depression is.
For the most part, it comes from being too into one's self. The only cure to depression is to think more of others and focus on expressing love.
There is enough melancholia to go around in this life.

She showed no love to her parents for the sacrifices they made to get her where she is, and she showed none to her future family, who she has now denied the joy of having her as a wife and mother.
your knowledge of depression is pre-depression signs not full blown depression where the patient will need medication..

Please don't play that emotional stuff here
The question is ,"was the school responsible for culpable in her death"
And I say absolutely not
A child cheating should not be allowed to cheat
She died because of her mental illness so the mother shouldn't be trying to make profit from her death
Its the truth, I'm not playing emotional stuff...

do you know the things the teacher would have said to the girlhuh
do you know what she was going through at home and at schoolhuh

she died because of what she was going through.... stop commenting out of ignorance, you obviously haven't seen anyone who is suffering from depression... none of your relatives or close friends have suffered from depression so shut the f*ck up...
