1. AGAPE LOVE is controlled by the heart. (Naive of your status, blinded to circumtances) while PHILEO LOVE is intellectual, calculative and logical (the head or mind). Like "the guy is handsome, cool*** but seems to be cash-stranded ". 2. AGAPE LOVE is Divine while PHILEO LOVE is human 3. AGAPE LOVE always believes. It has faith, patience and can endure longer than you think while PHILEO LOVE would always have doubts and be sceptical. Lacks the will to go the extra mile! 4. AGAPE LOVE is never jealous while PHILEO love is always jealous. 5. AGAPE LOVE is humble anywhere anytime and covers your faults. Nobody will know it. while PHILEO LOVE always has ego to protect. Faults easily get exposed sometimes without apology 6. AGAPE LOVE CANNOT hate while PHILEO LOVE CAN hate!(oops!) "haters". You know them! 7. AGAPE LOVE is Eternal, without end while PHILEO LOVE is only Earth-bound. It all ends here! 8. AGAPE LOVE is Perfect. No increase nor decrease while PHILEO LOVE is subject to growth, development and the factors affecting it. 9. AGAPE LOVE trusts unconditionally whithout strings attached to it while PHILEO LOVE "must test and prove beyond all reasonable doubt" can only trust with strings attached to it. 10. AGAPE LOVE has no fear. It is always confident. while PHILEO LOVE breeds fear and lacks confidence. 11. AGAPE LOVE is NOT selfish and doesnt seek its own first while PHILEO LOVE's theme is "what's in it for me?" (Friends with benefits) 12. AGAPE LOVE can FORGIVE UNCONDITIONALLY FORGET YES FORGET while oga & madam PHILEO LOVE will remember the day, month, year(10 years ago), environment and even remind you that rain was falling that day! imagine that! 13. AGAPE LOVE is not hurt and does not go hurting sombody while PHILEO LOVE is easily hurt and seeks to go on a revenge mission(personal vendetta;"I will show her who I am ": "This guy doesn't know me first!" ![]() 14. AGAPE LOVE is THE GENUINE LOVE. Its the True LOve while PHILEO LOVE is the PERVERTED FORM of genuine Love. 15 AGAPE LOVE has no limits, cannot be overstretched, therefore it CANNOT break while there is a limit to which PHILEO LOVE can go, over which it will react! (what do you call the love that a man will cut the throat of LAWFULLY WEDDED WIFE for suspecting her of infidelity after having 3 children for him. What happened to the I love you honey, baby, sweety and darling?) (lets not go to boyfriend/girlfirend matter) 16. AGAPE LOVE labours and works tirelesly to please and doesn't seem to please enough while PHILEO LOVE will tire after some efforts and begin to seek for excuse to pipe down..like "i don tire with love love thing sef" You might not say it out but it becomes burden to you! 17. When your love for your spouse or friend begins to seem as a burden on you hmm! It is not AGAPE LOVE. 18. AGAPE love is beyond the sexual attraction you have for your wife/husband or girlfriend/boyfrriend 19. PHILEO LOVE is physical love. Anything physical is subject to earthly factors and circumstances. Reaching your breaking point in PHILEO LOVE is natural, you can't help it. But with AGAPE LOVE, your bond goes above the physical, above yourself. Its SPIRITUAL! Its DIVINE! 20. PHILEO LOVE will FAIL!!! AGAPE LOVE CANNOT FAIL!!! *NB: Constructive inputs are welcome. God bless you all. Today is Sunday. Lets spread the word out (@OAM4J)for us to know what LOVE are we actually exhibiting! PHILEO OR AGAPE? |

to tell you what this acronym has become. Even nairaland posters have interchanged February with Febuhari as seen in the pic below. Could this date have an impact on the election. Did INEC envisage this?

Varagous:so you say. But can anyone lay claim to be the sole originator of it? that's my question @varagous |

I have been trying to dig out the first place where this word originated from and which month did its propagation start? Suddenly optimists of Mohammadu Buhari becoming the next president have gotten a perfect match for his campaign. This by-word is now used on social media like Facebook and Twitter and you might have used it as a Buhari Die-Hard fan. Check out "FeBruary" Vs "Buhari"; and since 14th is the date of elections the person (or is it persons or A*C) repackaged or refurbished February 14th as Febuhari 14. Besides, February 14 is valentine's Day(Lovers' day, Buhari's Day? My thinking o!). The thing is, who ever it is that thought this out really "Think am well" and "Goodluck" to him or her. So, who is the founder of Febuhari 14? |

(CNN)—Imagine putting wings on the White House and getting it to fly around the world. It's been done. That's basically Air Force One in a nutshell. Now the Pentagon has announced the next generation of this world-class icon will be a military version of the 747-8. For nearly 30 years, the current jumbo jet Air Force One has been a customized version of the 747-200B. The newer 747-8 is longer and more efficient than its older brother. Why is a new one necessary? "It is time to upgrade," Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James said in a statement Wednesday. The difference between the civilian version and what the President will fly on: the commander in chief gets a plane that's tricked out with top-of-the-line parts and backup systems. And a lot of technology that's -- well -- classified. (What of jona's own na?) Related: What's new about the 747-8? Let's remind ourselves why the world is so fascinated with this flying technological marvel. For more than half a century, passengers aboard the U.S. presidential aircraft have been witness to American history. Consider the fact that all these things happened on an Air Force One: -- President Kennedy's body was flown to Washington for burial. -- Lyndon Johnson was sworn in as president. -- LBJ let a reporter interview him in the plane's stateroom, while dressed only in a towel. -- The only woman ever to swear-in a U.S. president did so aboard Air Force One. -- President Richard Nixon became the first American president to visit China, where he historically opened the door to U.S.-Chinese relations. -- Air Force One served as President George W. Bush's command center during the first hours following the 9/11 attacks. One of the main goals for the new plane, the Air Force said, will be affordability. Although the plane is designed to be more fuel efficient than its predecessor a new 747-8 lists for around $368 million. Add all the presidential bells and whistles and the sticker price goes north rather quickly. The 747-8 is made in the U.S., which the Air Forced hinted was a plus. "The Boeing 747-8 is the only aircraft manufactured in the United States (that), when fully missionized, meets the necessary capabilities," Wednesday's statement said. The four-engine Airbus A380 -- the world's largest airliner -- which is made in France, was thought by some to be Boeing's only competition for Air Force One. When will the President get a new jumbo jet? Hard to say. If everything goes smoothly, Boeing likely will work with the Air Force on hammering out a timeframe and production schedule. In December, Boeing had 36 unfilled orders for 24 passenger versions and 12 freighter models. From humble beginnings as a small, less than impressively outfitted plane during the FDR administration, to its current jumbo jet status, Air Force One has become a world-class icon representing power and privilege. Members of Congress, celebrities and advocates clamor for seats on it, to get rare access to the President(can you imagine!) -- arguably the most powerful person on the planet. The plane's well-known blue and white color scheme was largely created by legendary industrial designer Raymond Loewy and approved by JFK himself. Officially, the aircraft is only called Air Force One while a sitting president is aboard. The presidential fleet includes several aircraft, other than the two 747s, that from time to time carry the "Air Force One" call sign. The presidential helicopter is operated by the Marine Corps and is often seen ferrying the President to and from the South Lawn of the White House. It's called "Marine One." On the rare occasion the President travels by Army aircraft, that is known as "Army One." By the same logic, aircraft used to carry the vice president are given the call sign "Air Force Two." Over the years, the various "Air Force Ones" have had their fair share of Hollywood screen roles. For example, the technological wizardry onboard the present 747s got wide play in the 1997 Harrison Ford action movie "Air Force One," in which the President's jet is hijacked by Russian nationalists. However, many of the more outlandish gizmos featured in the film owed more to, shall we say, artistic license than to airborne fact. The plane for example has no escape pod. Nor is it equipped with parachutes -- the massive slipstream created by an aircraft the size of a 747 means they can't be used. Designed to operate as independently as possible from ground services, the aircraft can fly halfway around the world without refueling. They carry their own automated baggage loaders as well as built-in front and aft stairs enabling them to operate self-sufficiently at airports and airfields around the world, minimizing security risks. Capable of in-flight refueling from airborne tankers, manufacturers say the aircraft has "virtually unlimited range" -- its passengers sustained by galleys capable of storing up to 2,000 meals at a time. The entire aircraft is shielded against the effects of electromagnetic pulse -- a wave of energy generated by the detonation of a nuclear device that can disable unprotected electronics. It features private accommodation, office space and a workout room for the President, first lady and family; as well as accommodation and offices for support staff and security personnel. Also on board is a stateroom and conference rooms that can, should it ever be necessary, be converted into a fully functional airborne medical center. (Please what is our own presidential plane called and what is its specs? just wanna know) Source

A Brazilian man has confessed to killing 39 women in the Rio de Janeiro region, police said Thursday -- shocking claims that, if confirmed, would make him one of the most prolific serial killers in the country's history. In an interview with Brazilian broadcaster TV Globo, the alleged killer, Sailson Jose das Gracas, said that he carried out the first slaying when he was 17 and continued to kill over the next decade. "I started robbing purses and small things like that," he told TV Globo. "And as I got older, I started having a different thoughts. My thoughts started changing. From stealing, I started thinking about killing." Sailson, reported to be 26-years-old, said he didn't kill impulsively but stalked his victims. Rio police said they arrested Sailson on Wednesday on suspicion of killing a woman in the suburb of Nova Iguacu. He confessed to that homicide and then told police about the other killings, they said. Sailson described his need to kill as pathological. "When I didn't kill, I would get nervous," he told TV Globo. "I would pace around the house, and then when I killed, it calmed me." Police chief Marcelo Machado told TV Globo that Sailson is also suspected of killing a 2- year-old boy, the son of one of the dead women. Specialized police teams are carrying out an investigation into his claims. "We must carefully examine, one by one," Machado said. Police said they had located four other cases from the homicide division that had the same modus operandi presented by Sailson, who told them he used knives to kill. Police said they had also arrested a man and woman, who Sailson said had told him to kill the latest victim. The self-declared killer said he had "no regrets" about his actions and would kill again if set free. "What is done is done," he told the TV network. "If I leave here in 10, 15, 20 years, I'll go back to doing the same thing." May God help us o source

debonairprinx:correct. Its a culture thing really. When lasy did any of your parent talk to you about sex, boy /girl friends? Is it a taboo? especially in Nigeria. Our parents seem so***i think "ASHAMED" is the word. WHY? |
bist:GHMOY -God have mercy on you |
If you think you are tech savvy all because you know what "LOL" means, let me test your coolness. Any idea what "IWSN" stands for in Internet slang? It's a declarative statement: I want sex now. If it makes you feel any better, I had no clue, and neither did a number of women I asked about it. Acronyms are widely popular across the Internet, especially on social media and texting apps, because, in some cases, they offer a shorthand for communication that is meant to be instant. So "LMK" -- let me know -- and "WYCM" -- will you call me? -- are innocent enough. But the issue, especially for parents, is understanding the slang that could signal some dangerous teen behavior, such as "GNOC,'" which means "get naked on camera." And it certainly helps for a parent to know that "PIR" means parent in room, which could mean the teen wants to have a conversation about things that his or her mom and dad might not approve of. Katie Greer is a national Internet safety expert who has provided Internet and technology safety training to schools, law enforcement agencies and community organizations throughout the country for more than seven years. She says research shows that a majority of teens believe that their parents are starting to keep tabs on their online and social media lives. "With that, acronyms can be used by kids to hide certain parts of their conversations from attentive parents," Greer said. "Acronyms used for this purpose could potentially raise some red flags for parents." But parents would drive themselves crazy, she said, if they tried to decode every text, email and post they see their teen sending or receiving. "I've seen some before and it's like 'The Da Vinci Code,' where only the kids hold the true meanings (and most of the time they're fairly innocuous)," she said. Still, if parents come across any acronyms they believe could be problematic, they should talk with their kids about them, said Greer. But how, on earth, is a parent to keep up with all these acronyms, especially since new ones are being introduced every day? "It's a lot to keep track of," Greer said. Parents can always do a Google search if they stumble upon a phrase they aren't familiar with, but the other option is asking their children, since these phrases can have different meanings for different people. "Asking kids not only gives you great information, but it shows that you're paying attention and sparks the conversation around their online behaviors, which is imperative." Micky Morrison, a mom of two in Islamorada, Florida, says she finds Internet acronyms "baffling, annoying and hilarious at the same time." She's none too pleased that acronyms like "LOL" and "OMG" are being adopted into conversation, and already told her 12-year-old son -- whom she jokingly calls "deprived," since he does not have a phone yet -- that acronym talk is not allowed in her presence. But the issue really came to a head when her son and his adolescent friends got together and were all "ignoring one another with noses in their phones," said Morrison, founder of BabyWeightTV. "I announced my invention of a new acronym: 'PYFPD.' Put your freaking phone down." LOL! But back to the serious issue at hand, below are 28 Internet acronyms, which I learned from Greer and other parents I talked with, as well as from sites such as NoSlang.com and NetLingo.com, and from Cool Mom Tech's 99 acronyms and phrases that every parent should know. After you read this list, you'll likely start looking at your teen's texts in a whole new way. 1. IWSN - I want sex now 2. GNOC - Get naked on camera 3. NIFOC - Naked in front of computer 4. Chinese woman Yan had tumoured covering her entire body but the four-stone monster that covered her back and right leg all the way up to her ankle was by far the largest. The 35-year-old from Changsha, China, endured 10 hours of surgery for the tumour to finally be removed. Yan was born covered with brown marks but family poverty stopped her from going to a doctor to get them treated. But the tumour on her back started to grow extremely quickly about 10 years ago, which exrted so much pressure on her spine that it bent it out of shape. The tumour grew so big that it weighed even more than Yan, who found it extremely difficult to move as a result. It was only when kind-hearted people donated money to Yan for her to undergo surgery to finally rid the growth from her body. Unbelievably, Yan said she only visited the hospital when it got too difficult to move. She said: "I may not come to visit the hospital if the tumour wasn't too heavy and didn't press me too much." Chief surgeon Fan Peng said that the tumor has distorted Yan's spine so much it is now in a "C" shape. He added: "Most of the body nutrition was supplied to the tumour, which exerted heavy pressure to the heart. "The spine can't be straightened, but removing the tumour can greatly improve her life quality and extend her life." "So what can i do for you today?" "Well, i have this lump....." Why on earth was it allowed to grow that big? www.dailystar.co.uk/real-life/402459/Yan-four-stone-tumour-removed-body

A 17-year-old girl, who was at risk of dying from an enormous football-sized tumour, has had life-saving surgery. Grace, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, would have eventually died from suffocation if the aggressive bone tumour had continued to grow. The huge tumour, which was larger than the young girl's head, started growing in the centre of the jaw bone - formed by cells that usually make the enamel of teeth. Miraculously Grace was still able to speak and eat but was so self-conscious that she stopped going to school. After local hospitals failed to help, charity hospital Mercy Ships admitted the teen for a four-hour operation to remove the debilitating tumour, as well as her lower jaw and teeth. Grace had been suffering with the unsightly tumour for ten years as it gradually increased in size. Together with her mother she went to the local hospital to get help - but doctors remained baffled by her condition and offered no treatment. "It started from a little swelling inside and the gums started growing little by little," said Grace. "We went to hospital and they didn't know what it was - they did nothing." Grace's mother Christine was left to watch her daughter suffer and had no idea who to turn to for help. "I didn't know what to do - in hospital they just talked a lot but did nothing," said Christine. Meanwhile Grace was stuck indoors suffering from the horrific growth. "I was sick, I was always indoors, I was not happy anymore, I worried all the time," said grace. Eventually the teen was discovered by a Christian pastor who campaigned to get her medical help. The pastor posted Grace's story on the church website and a reader told them about Mercy Ships. Dr Parker added: "To remove the tumour we had to open the neck to allow access to the jaw and separate the tumour from the normal jaw." After cutting away the football-sized lump Dr Parker replaced the removed jaw with metal plates made of titanium. "When she heals six months from now she can have artificial teeth if she wants," said Dr Parker. "That will help her with her chewing - appearance-wise and functionally she should be able to have a normal life." Grace's life has been completely transformed by the surgery. With her new-found confidence, she is hoping to study medicine and pursue a career in nursing so that she can help others with complicated medical conditions in the future. www.dailystar.co.uk/real-life/402459/Yan-four-stone-tumour-removed-body
