The Future Awards Africa,( FAA) Celebrates 10 years of presenting Africa's true leaders this year. In that spirit, they crafted an amazing invitation card which represents different countries in Africa! Most celebrities across Africa, have received theirs, and our very own Don Jazzy has also received his.

His own is crafted in the Tanzanian map format (Pictured below).

The FAA will hold on 6th December, 2015 in Lagos, and is strictly under special invitation! I have my I.V though, you wanna see? ;-)

I think its high time we started passing our own bills! What's the meaning of the picture above?

Dear ChuzzysBlog readers, here's Senator Bala Ibn Na'Allah who's moving the bill to gag you all on social media. He receives at least 6 digits of Nigerian currency for wardrobe allowance, but behold what he is rocking in the above picture!

The government should as a matter of urgency suspend this wardrobe allowance or make a uniform for our lawmakers or sign a contract with serious and world class tailors like (No adverts, you know a few) or any other reasonable fashion designer!

Read the press statement from the office of the Senate president below.

Clarification on false claim that Senate passed a bill proposing to jail social media users for two years. The bill being made reference to, is An Act to Prohibit Frivolous Petitions and Other Related Matters, which absolutely makes no mention of jailing social media users.

Senator Na’Allah’s bill seeks to make illegal, the common act of individuals sponsoring frivolous petitions to tarnish/blackmail public servants or political office holders for selfish purposes.

The bill also seeks to make it a requirement for petitioners to depose to an affidavit in court which will must be attached to any petition. Where such petition is discovered to be frivolous, or mischievous or the fact there in are false, the proposed bill makes it a case of perjury which is an offense under the law.

The Deputy Senate leader in his submission expressed concern that with such frivolous petitions, the right of an individual to be presumed innocent until proven guilty by a competent court, would have eroded such presumption of innocence as these petitions lead to media trials that hampers the rule of law.

In the developed societies and in particular, the US, if one files a petition with the Federal Bureau of Investigation or any other government agency, aimed at defaming someone, ruining their reputation or family and such petition is discovered to be false, such a person will be held liable and would pay dearly for it.

One can only imagine that if countries allowed dishonest elements to file petitions against their opponents without having to hold them accountable, this will amount to impunity.

No fewer than 10 suspected armed robbers have been killed in the last 12 days in different parts of Lagos State during an exchange of gunfire with the police.

The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, made the disclosure on Monday while addressing journalists.

Mr. Owoseni said that while some of suspects died exchanging gunfire with the police during gridlock robbery, others died robbing some residents in different areas.

He said that 19 other robbery suspects and 11 cultists were arrested and 15 ammunition, eight guns and two vehicles were recovered within the same period.

According to him, other exhibits recovered are four speed boats, two canoes, four military camouflage uniforms, two mobile police uniform and handsets used by the robbers to attack banks in Agbara, Ogun.

The commissioner said that within the period, 949 suspected miscreants were arrested during raids of some black spots but 83 were released after screening.

Mr. Owoseni said 866 were charged with various offences, adding that 1,060 motorcycles were impounded for contravening the ban on commercial motorcycles plying the highways.

He noted that the incident of traffic robbery had reduced but said that there was the need for members of the public to give prompt information to the police.

Some of the arrested suspects and exhibits were also paraded.

A raging fire gutted 118 shops at the Kabong Market in Jos on Thursday.
According to reports from a source who visited the market, could not access the burnt section because some of the shops were still in flames.

The actual cause of the fire could not be ascertained, but the Chairman, Kabong Market Traders Association, Mr. Christopher Jama, said the fire started by 4am.

Jama claimed that the fire was caused by an electrical spark when public power supply was restored in the night.

He told Governor Simon Lalong, who visited the market, that 118 shops were burnt, adding that goods destroyed included bags of maize, beans and rice.

Lalong promised to remodel the market and also address the traders’ plight.
The governor directed the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce to liaise with the market union to get details of the incident
