Gowon Jack Musa, a k a Jack Spencer, was arrested on November 18, 1992, for conspiring to import in excess of 1kg of heroin into the USA. Detectives found, in his room, a Swiss Air Global Hotel Guide on which Musa had written a reference to "The Heroin Connection." They also found a television documentary on the recruitment of individuals in the Dallas area to smuggle heroin into the U.S. He had also written a phone number for Donald Iwegbu, an alleged co-conspirator who had admitted that the goal of the operation was to smuggle heroin into the U.S. He was found guilty by a jury and was sentenced to 27 years in prison followed by 5 years of supervised release, but thanks to the new prison reform in the USA, he was among those granted pardon and released earlier this week. Although, his father disowned him after being arrested, Musa, now 47, is said to be the product of the romance between Edith Ike Okongwu, who died while Musa was in prison, and former Nigerian president, Gen. Yakubu Gowon. Edith allegedly lived with Gowon during the war till she was kicked her out of the house. She relocated to the U.S and later came to "kidnap" Musa and took him to U.S. The move backfired as Musa became rebellious as he didn't approve of his mothers single and flamboyant lifestyle. He was left for dead as his father had also cut him off. This was said to have prompted him go into pushing drugs and he became a high ranking member his drug cartel. He briefly reconciled with his father after he became rich but was disowned again after being arrested. During his trial, he was said to have refused to sellout on his cartel member just to get a softer sentence. As we speak, he is currently in the U.S Immigration detention where he is undergoing the process of being deported back to Nigeria. http://www.chuzzysblog.com/2015/11/son-of-former-nigerian-president-yakubu.html cc: lalasticlala |

Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has told the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 governorship election, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, not to delude himself on the possibility of a rerun of the poll in the state. Wike, who said Peterside embarked on an illegal campaign on Saturday, explained that the APC leader’s action could heat up the polity. The governor, who spoke on Tuesday through his Media Assistant, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, disclosed that his lawyers were concluding the appeal process to challenge the ruling of the Justice Suleiman Ambrosa-led Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal. He noted that the ruling, which was premised on card reader accreditation and hearsay testimonies, had already been expunged from the tribunal’s records by the Court of Appeal. “The defeated Rivers State APC governorship candidate, Mr. Dakuku Peterside, should desist from self-deceit and unnecessary political campaigns as there will be no re-run of the governorship election in Rivers State. “We understand the desperation of Mr. Peterside as he is merely dancing to the tunes being played by external forces who want their filthy hands on the resources of Rivers State like they did under the failed administration of Rotimi Amaechi. “The people of Rivers State voted overwhelmingly for Governor Wike on April 11 and 12. The earlier Mr. Peterside comes to terms with this fact, the better for him and his political party. “The use of falsehood and propaganda will not take Peterside anywhere near the Government House, Port Harcourt. Governor Wike has the mandate of the people of Rivers State and this will be reaffirmed in the appeal process.” Reacting, the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Chris Finebone, said Wike should stop playing God, adding that the governor should allow the Appeal Court to do its work. Finebone explained that Wike had been boasting that he (Wike) would win the governorship election even if it was held a hundred times, adding that the governor appears to be afraid of a rerun. “If he (Wike) says that Dr. Peterside is deluding himself on the possibility of any rerun, it shows that Wike is unstable because it is Wike that said that he would win the governorship election even if it were conducted 100 times.” http://www.chuzzysblog.com/2015/11/forget-about-rerun-wike-tells-peterside.html cc: lalasticlala |

The Federal government say civil servants under its payroll will get their October salaries today November 3rd. A statement from the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on media and publicity, Shehu Garba, states that the delay in the salaries was due to the crashing of some computers that were being used when the salaries were to be disbursed last week. The salaries were meant to have been paid a week before the end of October. http://www.chuzzysblog.com/2015/11/civil-servants-under-governments.html cc: lalasticlala |

Today Monday 2nd November, 2015, The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Eket office, gave a strict warning to Fuel marketers that they have just 3 days to revert their inflated fuel prices to the normal N87 pump price or face sanctions. Operations controller of the state's DRP, Mr Asuquo Antai, in an interview in Uyo, made it clear that there is absolutely no reason for the fuel hike in the state because, three Million liters of fuel was supplied to the state last month. His exact words: “From Thursday Nov. 5, no retail outlet should sell above government approved price of N87 per litre. “Any filling station that sells above the price will be shut for three months and defaulters will have to pay fine before being reopened for business. “Any retail outlet that cannot sell for N87 per litre should close because we are going to monitor them strictly to ensure compliance,” Antai said. Antai went ahead to warn that anyone caught in the fuel price hike, will have the department to content with. He also expressed his disappointment with the fact that some major marketers including the NNPC, also divert the product allocated to them for higher gain. http://www.chuzzysblog.com/2015/11/you-have-3-days-to-revert-to-normal-n87.html cc lalasticlala |

Former Chelsea coach, Andre Villas-Boas who is Portuguese and manages Zenith St Petersburg was reportedly planning to leave at the end of the season but it’s unclear if his tenure will last that long now. According to Eurosport, the bill was signed on September 21st and published on the official web portal of legal information on October 28th. Interestingly, the Russian national team can still be run by a foreign coach. At clubs, they can employ foreigners as coaches – but not the head coach. Of the sixteen clubs in the Russian Premier League, six are run by foreigners. It’s unclear how soon they will be forced to leave their jobs. This is happening in the 21st century.. but Only in Russia!! http://www.chuzzysblog.com/2015/10/foreign-managers-banned-from-russian.html cc: lalasticlaa |

Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, governorship candidate of the APC in the last election, is challenging the victory of the governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who was the People Democratic Party, PDP, candidate. Labour Party governorship candidate, Chief Great Ogboru, is also contesting Okowa’s election. As at 9.02 am, police officers and operatives of the Department of State Services were still busy screening people, but many were denied entrance because of the small space in the court room. However, lawyers, journalists and party officials, who properly identified themselves were allowed entry. As of the time of this report, Senator James Manager representing Delta South Senatorial district, chair, PDP in the state, Chief Edwin Uzor and his Labour Party counterpart, Chief Tony Ezeagu were already seated in the court room. Some Terrorists had a fresh plot to plant bombs at the popular Wuse Market in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
