4. Mexican photographer Caludio Contreras Koob snapped this image in the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve in the state of Yucatán, which is home to Mexico’s largest flock of Caribbean flamingos. Caludio says that the chick in the image is less than five days old, so it will stay in its nest less than a week before it joins a crèche of other youngsters who wander around the colony searching for food

3. UK-based photographer Sam Rowley shot this fascinating image, which he calls 'station squabble'. He discovered the best way to photograph the mice inhabiting London’s Underground was to lie on the platform and wait. He only saw them fight over scraps of food dropped by passengers a few times, possibly because it is so abundant. This fight lasted a split second before one grabbed a crumb and they went their separate ways

2 It took three years of planning by Norwegian photographer Audan Rikardsen to capture this image of a majestic bird of prey in its coastal environment. He snapped the shot from a hide on the coast of northern Norway

AS MANY OF THE PHOTOS HERE MAY NOT BE VERY FASCINATING TO MANY. I THINK THE DEDICATION OF THE PHOTOGRAPHERS IS PRICELESS.1. When German photographer Stefan Christmann came across this penguin couple in Atka Bay, Antarctica, seemingly with an egg, he was surprised as it was too early in the season for egg-laying. However, upon closer inspection, he discovered the egg was a snowball and wondered if the diligent couple were practising egg transfer in preparation for when their real egg arrived. Stefan claims it's possibly the first time it has ever been witnessed and documented

5. PORCUPINE Porcupines are large rodents with coats of sharp spines, or quills, that protect them against predators. Porcupine quills can become embedded in the skin and are painful and difficult to remove. They are also able to spread porcupine diseases like rabies. You don't want to be like this afterwards www.nairaland.com/attachments/12153937_mainqimg3205e921d94f38ddaa74d019d8e1c459_webp_webp01fb61694db4f874fbd6c03360b971c6 www.nairaland.com/attachments/12153936_images20200727t224411_921_jpeg_jpegf40030072671b0862305c37d9e4f629b SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA

4. ELECTRIC EEL www.nairaland.com/attachments/12153797_74scaryandcreepyanimalsthatactuallyexisteverywherewild_jpeg_jpeg83249a6a262ee6aee32c5c13509930d5 Despite their serpentine appearance, electric eels are not actually eels. Their scientific classification is closer to carp and catfish.Their bodies contain electric organs with about 6,000 specialized cells called electrocytes that store power like tiny batteries. An electric eel is capable of delivering up to 600volts of shock to its victim. Human deaths from electric eels are extremely rare. However, multiple shocks can cause respiratory or heart failure, and people have been known to drown in shallow water after a stunning jolt. Source: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

3. INLAND TAIPAN www.nairaland.com/attachments/12153732_800pxfiercesnakeoxyuranusmicrolepidotus_jpeg282c3ea73520efa599db9058a07b7538 Based on the median lethal dose value in mice, the venom of the inland taipan is by far the most toxic of any snake – much more so than even that of sea snakes and it has the most toxic venom of any reptile when tested on human heart cell culture. It has the potential to kill someone in as little as 30 to 45 minutes if left untreated. It is an extremely fast and agile snake that can strike instantly with extreme accuracy. SOURCE

2. CONE SNAILS Cone snails, cone shells, or cones are common names for a large group of small- to large-sized extremely venomous predatory sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs. www.nairaland.com/attachments/12153671_800pxtextilecone_jpeg_jpeg45ec5944f82ca8e9977f60fef61dd260 Because all cone snails are venomous and capable of "stinging" humans, live ones should never be handled, as their venomous sting will occur without warning and can be fatal.READ MORE HERE I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD EAT IT TOO

1. DEATHSTALKER [SCORPION GENERALLY] www.nairaland.com/attachments/12153580_the24deadliestanimalsonearthranked_jpeg_jpeg8bb1efd3f7725fef48d555c621994b66 The deathstalker is one of the most dangerous species of scorpions. www.nairaland.com/attachments/12153579_10mostpoisonousanimalsintheworld_jpeg_jpeg67c769c60f4a81f84990d89bd0f15243 While a sting from this scorpion is extraordinarily painful, it normally would not kill a healthy adult human. However, young children, the elderly, or infirm (such as those with a heart condition and those who are allergic) are at much greater risk. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT MULTIPLE STINGS FROM THIS CREATURE COULD BE LIFE THREATENINGSource: HERE
