I saw an ad recently by a Bank or Car Dealer, announcing a special interest free car purchase programme in honour of Eid or Nigeria's jubilee. Does anyone have the details? |
Hey there, old thread, but could not help but add this as I hope it helps someone else - My policy is always to take care of the simple fixes first, before the more complex (read expensive) fixes! I have had the exact same problem in 2 vehicles in the past - a 2003 VW Golf VR6 and a 1997 Range Rover. Both ended up in exactly the same fix - tire (tyre) replacement! Sounds ridiculous, right? So I thought too, until I paid for a new set of tires, and wheel balancing and voila! I remember the LR service tech in Atlanta suggested that I replace the air suspension on the RR ($4000)!! Remember the older RR's had that messed up air suspension that would always go bad after about 50K miles? |
Freedom of of opinion and speech should always be constrained by human decency. Why involve a deceased person in what seems like your personal gripe? People please! Ganjaseed: |
There is no such thing as a 'perfect' marriage because you have 2 imperfect humans involved! |
Yes, gentlemen, I get that it comes down to individual preference and affordability. Makes perfect sense. I drive a G-Class, and lots of people probably wonder why? Because I like it, and because I can. Ok. However, would I take that G-Class and spend an additional $100K on it? Money I can NEVER recover? No, I would not. Same as real estate. I am a real estate developer, and I would NEVER renovate say a kitchen at the cost of $60K when that renovated kitchen only adds $25K to the market value of the end product. It may make the house sell faster, but it does not make financial sense! If I were doing it up for myself, and never intend to sell, FINE. Now where the exit strategy is a sale, then that's just plain foolhardy. That is my concern. Some of these kids go on gut instinct and trends, and at the end of the day, bring their cars to the auction and insist on some ridiculous reserve amount. People may admire it, and it may sell faster, but you pimped it for yourself and you will not recoup your cost, no matter how special you think it is! To be fair, in the case of a celebrity owner and celebrity auction these rules do not apply as Americans pay ridiculous amounts to be associated with celebrities. How many times have we seen folks pay $$$$ for a smelly towel that some hot and sweaty star used to wipe his face? ![]() Hmmn, Maybe I should get football player to live in some of my properties and then sell using their names! ![]() |
I must say I have never been able to understand the culture of spending $30,000 on a car, and then spending $100,000 pimping it. A depreciating asset? Why?!!? |
Thanks, vescucci & toba! Its uncanny, the last line is the same as the meaning of my son's name! There is a testimony to the name, but that must be why this song spoke to me even though I had no clue what it meant. ZACHARY - I called upon the Lord, and He answered. |
I absolutely love this song, but my yoruba is terrible: E ti mu mi gbagbe o igbanuje igbakan ase we re ni se oluwa oba ti mo pe to n ge Thanks! |
I am not a car expert, don't know a transmission from a top cylinder. However, we have 2 peugeot 406's in the family, and they have both been like a recurring nightmare! A LITANY of electrical problems, gear box issues, axle, fuel pumps, brain box replacements - I could go on. Dude, if you want reliable, get a Honda Civic or a Toyota Corolla! |

wholeblaze:We are a wholesale warehouse. We buy items at liquidated prices, and pass the savings to consumers. That could mean anything from toothpaste to speed boats! The items we stock differ with every shipment. In our phone department, we carry Blackberry's and iPhones. They usually sell out fast. We got a shipment of BB's last week, and are sold out. We are awaiting our next shipment. Send us your info, we'll contact you as soon as they arrive - info@lpfinvestments.com We do not plan to carry the iPhone4 at this time, until a proper unlock solution is found (usually a few months after release). The engineers here do not seem to have a good unlock solution for even the iPhone 3Gs - the phones have to be unlocked every time the power cycles off! |
