GuyfawkesAB: I dont know why Fayemi's name is being bandied around more tha n necessary over this vote-buying issue. Do you know that Fayose initially credited civil servants with N3k each; paid Bus drivers and okada riders N1,500 and N1, 000 respectively to park their vehicles so as to shut down Ado-Ekiti the day the President visited; and then the big box of cash that flew in from a South-South governor from which people got N4k each. Fayemi's party was only sharing N4,000 to N5,000 on election day.
If you are raising this issue, point to both parties and stop crying Fayemi alone GUY,YOU DEY WINE ME?!!!!! i lived in ikere and Ado for over 5 years...do you know how much bus drivers make per day that Fayose will pay them 1k5... if i hear say hin try am... if you say 20k i believe you... 20k is more like it and fayose only did it in Ado and Ikere only thats why his candidate won both LGAs |

cyndy1000: Even Ghana isn't there Because of the rampant inflation in the decades before the exchange the second cedi was only worth a small fraction of its original value. The government decided to "cut" four zeros off the currency by the switch to the third cedi. The new currency was not introduced as the third cedi but is instead officially called the Ghanaian Cedi, in contrast to the second cedi that was officially known as the New Cedi. In the second half of 2007 both the second and third cedi were legal tender as the old currency were being gradually withdrawn. At the end of December 2007 more than 90% of all old coins and notes had been withdrawn. [3] From January 2008 old banknotes could only be exchanged at banks and was no longer legal tender. sweetrace: It is political, but Kogi state politicians use the youth to perform their horrible acts. The youth of Kogi state take listening to their elders to untold heights. If they're told to rise up and stone a person, they rarely ask why. They just stone. They act like they lack the brains to think for themselves. Someone else has to do their thinking for them and give them instructions. Of course the igallas act like the egbiras are the problem, and the egbiras claim the igallas are responsible for the ills of the state. The truth is they are the same kind of people - very backward, wicked people who are not even trying to keep up with the rest of Nigeria not to talk of the rest of the world. Meanwhile they feel that they are so moral that they are the epitome of criticism. This long epistle is just to say that while it is political, it is only possible because the youth are willing to be used for such nonsense. They actually take pride in it and would boast about their connections to the politicians. Connections!!! Ha!!!! Stooges more like it. the youths are the workforce... good or bad the youths get it done... dont put all the blame on the youths... what of the masterminds? People who are suppose to be good examples and have positive influence are the same financially motivating these youths to execute these dastardly acts... so think... on one hand you have youths that want to make a quick buck and on the other you have Men of great political standing baiting these youths to do their dirty jobs but you dont deem it fit to condemn the godfathers? |

Dannybammz: After scrutinizing the results released by the INEC for the just concluded Ekiti state elections, my observations were as follows... APC: 197,459 PDP: 178,114 Total: 316,019 According to the INEC... But 197,459 + 178,114 = 375,573 according to how l was taught Arithmetic in school, so INEC where is the difference of 59,554... Meanwhile 4 LGs gave the PDP 178,114 While 12 LGs gave APC 197,459 according to the Malthusian Theory of INEC?? Secondly according to the empirical formula of INEC which was posted on their website # EkitiDecides2018 goes thus... *Accredited nos of voters= 405,585* *Valid votes=384,594* *Reject=18,857* *Vote cast=403,451* *Valid + rejected=493,188.* So now how come valid votes plus Rejected votes is greater than numbers of Accredited votes of 405,585... And u say we should not ask INEC where they got their own Pythagoras theory of 40 degrees! When we all know that Pythagoras theory says Right angle Triangle is always 90 degrees.. webbro007: *Christiano Ronaldo's* lesson! When he received one of his awards recently, Ronaldo dedicated it to a certain ... Alberto Fantrau. Then said: "Yes I am a great footballer and all my success is due to my friend Alberto good heart" People looked at one another and said, "Who is this Mr. Fantrau?" Then Ronaldo went on: "We played together in a youth team. When Sporting of Lisbon recruiters came to observe us, they told us that the striker who scored the most goals will be recruited into the sports academy. That day we won 3-0. I scored the first goal and then Albert scored the 2nd with the head. And then the 3rd goal was the one that impressed everyone. Alberto started from the wing, then found himself face to face with the keeper, dribbled the goalkeeper and all he had to do was to push the ball into the empty goal post . In the meantime I was running to his side and instead of shooting into the empty goal post, Alberto decided to pass the ball to me and I scored. This is how I found myself at the Sporting Lisbon Academy. After the game I went to him, and asked him "why did you do that?" And he replied, *"Because I know that you are better than I am and You will go far in life in this game, you needed that push* " Curious to know more, the journalists began to investigate and were able to meet this Alberto Fantrau to ask him if the story told by Ronaldo is true, and he confirmed it, adding that his career as a footballer ended after that match as it was the only opportunity to become professional but i was sure Ronaldo would go far and do better. So I remained unemployed fulfilled and happy. However, journalists, observing his luxurious house and his fleet of cars parked in the garage asked Alberto "but being unemployed how could you have such a house and cars and living so luxuriously? You seem rather comfortable physically " Alberto's answer: "All that? .. is Ronaldo " Moral of this story: Let us ask ourselves the following question: How many of us have ever done something like Ronaldo and Alberto? On the contrary, many of us show the opposite of this story displaying selfishness and ingratitude. Friends! Let's help one another to succeed, don't think blocking that intelligent, talented and good fellow can add to your ordained destiny. You can not go nor have beyond what God has destined for you. Helping another person to succeed can only make your life better and above all guarantee a blissful hereafter for you. Alberto might not have made it big like Ronaldo, and Ronald might still have made it in another way but Alberto wouldn't have had access to such Luxury. You see life! Open your heart and broaden your thinking. Be an abundant mentality personality. God will always be there at your own point of need too. And when we help a person to succeed, the latter must never forget those who contributed to his success. Whether they forget or not, God doesn't abandon His own. Above all, we shoud never forget that God is watching and He will judge us Life is all about Your CONTRIBUTION and never about your POSSESSION! Word of wisdom. Pleasant morning hmmm.... |

apolonius: Exactly. That decision will hurt them badly in 2019. I mean why pick a chair from a base that you can easily mobilise and leave the APC to keep the South West?
Why didn’t Fayose pick Adeyeye who has a political base, face and networks to fight a Fayemi better?
Yet their supporters will be shouting hate songs and sentiments than get busy understanding their weaknesses of their very wrong strategies.
No PDP candidate can compete with Buhari in the north-NW,NE and large parts of the NC. Yes while Ortom May move in Benue, the state structure is controlled by a happy Akume who is determined to stay and impose Jime as successor to Ortom.
Saraki May go,but there PDP governorship candidate in 2015 and many key PDP leaders are being lured to join forces with Lai and others to fight him in Kwara. He may fall out with the governor whose senatorial ambition he doesn’t want to support.
In Kogi State,Bello is sure of block votes from an angry Ebira who is determined to keep the governorship A.T Ahmed died fighting to get them.
Bello’s plan to present Smart Adeyemi as Kogi West senate candidate will fetch them some decent votes too.
Igala people may rebel against Buhari because of Bello’s poor governance but Buhari will get votes from the APC strategy of picking popular Igala sons for senate and all-Jibrin Isah Echocho.
There is Nassarawa,Niger,Plateau, Abuja.
So North Central May still largely go for Buhari.

babaolofin: 80% of people on this thread are ibos. Those fighting & making argument at vendors are about 90% Ibos . There was protest in IBO land of Owerri over the police activity at Ado - Ekiti.
In 2014, by this time, the election was already a done deal for GEJ & Fayose. In fact most people have forgotten about the election praying for the large number of soldiers & mopol to leave & for those APC party leaders arrested / kidnapped to be released. The IBOs celebrated that oppression & victory but not the ekitis.
It is true APC cannot try it in Anambra because IBO sees APC as a Yoruba party & Igbos have hatred for Yorubas. In Rivers, the Ikwerre people & the closeness of Aba to PHC coupled with the fact that Sea ports are only in Rivers for the area have made Ibos to dominate portharcourt & bought most of the land thereby imposing themselves on the wish of the native people. This is what they are planning in Lagos but Oba of Lagos on behalf of Lagos State Council of Obas told them in 2015, it cannot work.
In Rivers, the natives need empowerment. Anything can happen. The Ogonis & Calabaris must not allow the ibos to cage them. They should decide their political destination. APC can win Rivers sad... i wonder why that is... i grew up with some Igbo guys and they all seemed fine. ...Igbo guys who grew up in the North seemed fine too...Igbo guys who grew up in the south east have this Nnamdi Kanu like prejudice against the Yorubas which to me is shocking. ... my question is if they had issues against a person or group of persons of yoruba ancestry, why generalise and hate a whole race? it seems illogical and demented to me. .. |

What people fail to understand is the majority of Igbo's doesn't hate APC government, it's just that IPOB youths are jobless as such have dominated social media to the extent people thinks all Igbos are brainless IPOB's. If you interview ordinary Igbo personality on the street, he'll tell you he appreciates and commends the APC Federal government for all the projects in the SE, that's the authentic opinion. So don't relay on selfish, brainless, naive, greedy Nairaland's IPOB guys and judge the entire Igbo people. Actually i feel those ones who grew up and never left their regions till adulthood are more inclined to IPOB than those who grew up amongst various tribes like in Lagos for instance... |

apolonius: Political realities in states largely determine national outcomes. The way grassroots politics work is that the perception of national leadership hinges heavily on the performance and influence of state and local political leaders.
An elementary example will be that Wike’s hold on Rivers state and resources is central to his control of the party nationally.
Of course, remember that the criticisms of Buhari are not shared in the North East and North West where vast resources, endless patronages and appointments are concentrated. By the way, this is his traditional base since he joined politics in 2002.
Also, the PDP foolishly excluded its forces in the South West by refusing to give them the chairmanship slot on the advice of this same Fayose.
Too much to say to your points. But go and study the political dynamics and undercurrents of Nigeria since 1990 and you will be better educated. Very true.... pdp played the tribal card which clearly is a self destructive move... in a country so diverse you are playing regionalism this is 2018 not 1973... smarter leadership woild have seen a reason for more inter regional partnership |
