Also i chose b1/b2 visa for my spouse and I and chose B2 for the kids. Thinking that I do not want to be questioned why 7year old would need B1 visa to do business. But when it was approved they gave us all including the kids b1/b2.

I need some advice. I paid for my VISA fee using the GT Bank App and I put all the details needed correctly. However, I got to discover that on the receipt, the date of birth isn't correct? Instead of 29th of August, it says 30th of August.

Has anyone faced any issue similar to this? How do I resolve it? Would I have to pay a new fee?

But the actual date is correct on the application form. You have a print out of that right. If that is correct on the visa application, receipt might not really be an issue.

Hopefully, the gurus in the house can give more insight.

Although, I actually made an error with the place of birth on my spouse application, i applied for us all as a family of 4, and we were still granted.

This is long over due. So sorry for the late response, i had the interview outside the country in Qatar, apply around April I think, got a date around June/July. I had to reschedule for Sept. because I was occupied. I think the waiting times are probably different in Nigeria.

It was outside the country. Applied i think April. Got dated July, but had to reschedule to September. Also she asked to see old passports. I was glad we took them along.

Visa approved today 🎉. Family of 4. Just my husband and I went for the interview, the kids were in school. Twins both 7 years old.

9th June - Biometrics.

23rd June - Paid mail.

24th June - Application is being considered.

25th June - NSF requesting explanation for 7 years study gap and bank statements.

28th June - Reply to NSF of zero work experience but cover letter and a few attachments about these years as a housewife and a mum. Along with updated more recent bank statements.

1st July - Decision made.

3rd July - Pass-back mail from VAC, as I applied to keep my passport with me during application. I was to travel.

27th July - Flew back into the Country, returned my passport to VAC same day.

28th July - Collection mail, went to get it same day. Vignette sitting pretty.

I got a NSF email yesterday asking me to explain my 9 years study gap.

I worked with an organisation for four years, (I have the appointment letter and all) but quit in 2018 due to pregnancy and baby nursing. I nursed from 2018 without employment but opened my own private business in 2020. I hope mentioning the business and nursing will not be a red flag that me deny me visa. I intend to mention all in the reply.

Hi, submit the appointment letters, and follow it up with a cover letter explaining the rest of the gap. State and explain your pregnancy and nursing. Attachment birth certificate and photos. E.t.c

I have 7years study gap, zero work experience. And as advised here, I went with the truth, told my story in 900 words. I got decision made mail on 1st July, and Passport passback mail on the 3rd of July ( I am yet to collect my vignette because I am out of the Country). I believe it was approved as I had no refusal mails.

From my checklist, I am to upload a bank statement, International passport and my degree certificate. I also know that TB cert is constant

From my wife's checklist, she is to upload her International passport, our marriage cert and of course, TB cert.



I finished my NYSC in November 2020. Though I worked briefly in the north from that November 2020 to August 2021, I left there due to some reasons.
I want to upload just my NYSC cert as my additional document. Given that the date on it is November 2020, will they ask for additional documents?

For my wife, other than the above, do I have to upload additional documents for her? If yes what are they please? (D marriage cert we intend to upload is from port harcourt federal marriage) registry)

You are on the right track. Stick to your checklist. If they need additional documents. They will email you to ask. But so far, you are good to go.

I just got an email from VAC that a decision is ready to be made on my passport. I am currently out of the country, so I paid for passport pass back; meaning I went back to get my passport during application progression, so I could travel with it. I was told when a decision is ready, i would be emailed to bring back my passport.

Now, I did not get email from UKVI itself, I do not know maybe it because today is Sunday, non working day. Anyway, my anxiety is how am I to know if My visa was approved or refused.

I do not think so. They just want to know what you have been up to since you graduated. I got same mail on Saturday. And I have not been working. Currently working on a detailed cover letter to send them.

You have to really address this issue.

Your cover letter should be very solid and convincing,

Confirm you have received their request to provide documents and state however you have been a full time stay home mom since you gave birth to your kids,explain how long and why you chose this path, explain how your husband has been incharge of the expenses and link all that to why you have now

decided to go for Masters.

This is going to be tough one but I believe being honest is better.

Thinking of any additional document you might need, if any I will add more
