I read recently that in army recruitment drives to beef up security forces, those from the SE had by far the smallest number volunteers to join the army and police.

An absolutely negligible number of volunteers, to the point of embarrassment.

One would have thought that, as the most vociferously opposed to insecurity, that they would be First in Line to volunteer their service to the nation, but the reverse is the case

So I ask once again.

Who are you demanding should protect you?

You're missing a lot and most importantly the point. Don't make this about a particular region or geographical location. The army and police here are not well funded and lots of their personnel have lost their lives through the negligence of past administration and this present one. You can't ask people to sacrifice their lives in a shithole where politicians are stealing with reckless abandonment while the masses cry on daily basis. I expect this administration on day one to declare state of emergency on insecurity and commit state resources to ensure we get total victory in our fight against insurgency.

This is what you get in a failed and lawless country like ours. The gust of these bastards terrorists is so brazen and it's so unwise for Mr president to sit duck under his leadership.

There are many ways to make money intelligently that doesn't have to be "visible" or known to busybodies. So rather focus on the people whose jobs and income is known, which makes it automatically impossible for them to be legitimately wealthy.
