]not true but your chances with avant is brighter if you have cgfns
THIS depends on the board of Nursing you are applying to and also the necessary requirement from the board. Not all board of Nursing needs you to have a CGFNS certificate. So CGFNS certificate is not a major prequsite for AVANT to sign up with you.

If your intention is to practice in the US by having an employer or recruitment agency sponsor you, you definitely need CGFNS. CGFNS is the only organization that can issue a visascreen certificate.
However, if you want to get the NCLEX-RN exam done quickly you can go with other evaluation agencies. Keep in mind that you will still come back to CGFNS and you will spend more.
Thank you for the info though I didn't know thought they both issue visa screen.

1]I just came here to read up and get inspired more because that is what you guys do for me.
CgFNS has chosen to delay me like crazy and its affecting my morale. They sent another form to my son since begining of June and as an unregisteted mail only God knows how long it would take.
I started the process in October 2016.i want to know what would happen if they havent given me a report by october this year

I don't think credential evaluation would take this long it is either the required forms and transcripta was not sent on time because I mailed Cgfns and they replied that if the necessary documents are received on time it won't take more than 3 months for the evaluation to be complete.I will equally oblige us to try other credentialing agencies because Cgfns is not the only agency that can offer such services

Hello house,
I must commend everyone who is making one or two contributions in this thread.I would like to suggest or point out that even when we talk about the regisration in different states I would equally suggest we talk about strategies in passing the NCLEX exam and also materials used in studying for the exam.Another thing I would like to suggest is for those who are already in the process of applying they should tell the house how they were able to make payment to the board of nursing

AjaoSandra:
Texas Board of Nursing requires you to have worked within the 4years prior to your registration with the board, don't know about other states, and you can be processing your application with a BON whilst your running the CGFNS too...

So as it stands I can apply because it looks like I have enough working experience but I still want to know if it's advisable to fill in my academic experience as a nurse tutor or better still just ignore it. For TEXAS BON they mentioned finger print capture,I would like to know how one can go about it.

Hello house,
ever since i came across this thread on nairaland I had a rethink about the job am doing here in nigeria.I have dedicated 2 good days to go through every info on this thread. I must commend everyone of you who have in one way contributed. Now down to my question,I have been working with the state government for like 4 years (school of nursing)now, though had some clinical experience for like 5 years before switching to academic line.I want to know if am to use my previous work experience when applying for CES and also when applying to BON or I should state my present job designation.I would still want to know if am expected to apply for both Cgfns andBON at the same time.please I would like to get a proper clarifications.thank you guys once again
