Hello Bankers in the house, i was just concerned about your plights and stuffs. one thing i know is that there's a degree of these same things you complain about in almost every profession. Believe me, it's so amazing that most of us complain when we don't have a job, and as soon as we get it, we forget about those days of idleness when all we wanted was just to get busy. Someone said, in the room that he wants to resign. please make sure you know what you're doing. make sure you already have an alternative before you do so and not just speculations. |
Re: How Do You Blend Eurocentric And Afrocentric Fashion? « #13 on: Yesterday at 10:04:01 PM » Yeah i've seen suits and party dresses made with ankara, they look stunning. But i can't think of using it for something casual enough for school.Once my classmate wore an ankara gypsy skirt with a vest top, adorned with the right accessories and it was lovely. It was a good blend of the traditional and foreign, and it looked good for school.Got other ideas? alright, think of it this way, then you'd know that it's more than a casual yet fit for school. A coffee brown linen top that has a chinese neck style, fitted on your body with a carton brown hand knitted embroidery, worn on brown{any shade} pair of jean, or a gypsy skirt made of linen. |
there's one point i would really like to get straight, must a designer know how to sew? if he is truely talented and finds it as a hobby creating designs and styles, must he go to any fashion school? despite he's commitment to other artistic career! |
yes i have a collection of about 80 pictures, although working on my website presently here on the internet. so you all can have access to them as soon as it's ready. |
how do you determine if an attire look good on you, by your look in the mirror, a feel of comfortability or other people's opinion about what you are wearing.? |
have u ever had the opportunity to see a guy in a suit made with "Ankara"?, or a lady in a cocktail dress creatively designed with Ankara or Linen with a little embroidery. IT's really really nice. if haven't get someone to do it for you and give a try, better still, you can have me get you one from my collections. |
can any one give a constructive explanation on the differences and similarities of both above, regarding scriptural context |
thanks for the correction, i should have known that. you are looking at it from the point of wearing an afrocentric top on an eurocentric pant. don't you think that using an african fabrique to make an english style of shirt for instance would look better. instead of wearing the two typically different cultured oriented fashion simultaneosly. |
i should have known or seen this forum a long time ago, i usually enter the fashion forum, but this is exactly where i have been looking for. anyway, i am a fashion designer too, do not sew but have a great deal of wonderful designs of about 80 collections. target market are the middle class paid employees. i have been into the business for about 2 years now but would still need some strong financial backup somewhere. i also have a couple of customers in the UK who takes some to sell there. if there's anyone interested to invest in me should pls contact me via dre01_4_real@yahoo.com |
what would come to your mind first seeing a white wearing an afrocentric AGBADA or the IGBO APOCHE with a staff in his hand? |
am not trying to embarras anyone here, am just concerned about the interest of the poor little girl. press wahala and all of that u know. |
if there's anylady out there who wishes to contest, it's good and am offering you a chance to have me as your designer. i have a quality experience in the profession, and would make sure you represent ![]() |
whitesoft, can i benefit from your free service too? where do i start from? |
perhaps after i gain her consent and approval, ok |
seun, i have a couple of designs/styles that'd make you feel a lot more comfortable. and portrays african fashion too. |
i design with linen and cotton |
GUESS WHAT? I'VE SEEN A MAN OF ABOUT 47 YRS WEAR A TRADITIONAL LINEN CLOTHE, ALL PINK WITH A PINK AND BLACK SHOE. IMAGINE THAT ![]() |
am not suprised to find miss lagos win the contest, i know her personally and i must tell u dat she did not win owing to her beauty, but for her intelligence. |
the trend of fashion today shows that a lot of pple try to blend euro and afrocentric fashion without a professional skill. how do u go about doing yours? |
what does it take to be a fashion designer? what educational qualification? what intrinsic value is required? any views? |
what exactly do u need omoge? |
here i am omoge |
i typically like the book cut style of trousers, and the safari shirts. but would not dare the old skool hair cut. i really can't imagine sleeping at nite with so much hair on my head, makes me feel uncomfortable. |
it quite apparent that old school fashion trend is here, and i think good of it. the old way of dressing with slight civilised manipulations makes it good |
i quite agree with the fact that pink is hot on guys; not just hot 'REAL HOT'. What matters most is the concept behind your color combination. a shirt striped with pink, black and a bit of grey will go well with a plain pikish tie. however, not on a pink shoes or trouser! |
goodguy if the contest was based on cute chests, the organisers and judges would have had their eyes and mind corrupted by now, ![]() |
whether u are a fashion follower or not, i do believe that u are going to be addressed the way you are dressed. do not 4get the custom relevant in the community in which you are regardless of your personal opinion, gay concentrated areas would definitely regard a pinkily dressed guy as gay, while other areas would see it as a perfect fashion statement |
u guys should just appreciate what achievement God has granted the poor girl and allow her counterparts to feel challenged so as to become stronger in their weaknesses. all the girls are beautiful as far as am concerned. |
