Collins4u1: Thank you, it's just spending the money that would be the challenge.
Exactly the concern of the VO and that's exactly what they are trying to weed out from the system. People declaring money no available for spending then they get to Canada with hope of working and paying tuition and when that doesn't happen, they drop out of school.
Collins4u1: Hello Everyone. Please I need input and advice on how to navigate this issue. My friend's visa was declined and GCSM note has been ordered and the major factor borders on proof of fund. Both sufficiency and documentation because there is lump sum on the statement provided. Applicant is sponsored by Brother in Law and 41 years old. He has deffered to sept, if you can assist kindly help. Thanks
The possible chance you have is to demonstrate that lump sum is available by spending it and paying the tuition balance from it. And you would still have to explain the source of the funds with proper supporting docs.
Doladollz: Hello everyone! Please I need your opinion.
My visa was refused twice last year so I’m planning to reapply again.
NOTE! - I submitted my dad’s personal account, his business account and my own personal accounts. - He transferred some money to my account(30m) and we did a gift deed affidavit. - I paid one semester tuition (It’s a one year programme)
My application was refused based on financial reasons. After requesting for my GCMS notes, I found out that they focused more on my dad’s business account which had some lump sums and they didn’t even check my personal account.
Now, to move forward, I want to pay my complete tuition and I intend to use only my account which has #30,000,000 as POF for living expenses because I don’t want my dad’s account to complicate things. The money has been in my account for 4 months. Do you think that will be enough?
To be honest, the standards are high now as the yearly quotas continue to reduce further.
They didn't focus on your acct because the focus was on the source of the money and you planning to reapply without your father's acct doesn't address the issue. In my opinion, the source of the funds inside that your acct still has to be addresses since it's your father's supporting docs you will submit. Hence it's important to still explain those lump sums and attach his acct statement to the new application. Mind you, some people have paid full tuition, did GIC of 20k and still chop refusal because the source of funds weren't explained with appropriate supporting docs.
Kattybaby1981: Good day. Please I want to ask questions. My case is long please bear with me. 😁 I'm a medical doctor graduated 2023 and my husband is a medical doctor too graduated 2022(we got married this last Dec). We applied for masters in public health separately at Simon Fraser University and Memorial University of Newfoundland for fall 2025. We need the masters, not just as a means of Japa but also to help us in our career as we both want to venture into public health.
1. Will it affect visa application as they will wonder why 2 married ppl both want to do masters? Cos it's 2 different study permits Or should we not mention anything about each other at all?
2. I'm being sponsored by my father. He has the full funds in his account. He's self employed and a lawyer with his own chambers. Please what are the documents we need to start getting ready to support the proof of funds on my dad's part now. I also have 2 landed properties.
3. Whose account does the money stay for the 6months POF duration. Cos it has been in my dad's account this whole time. When he eventually sends it to me do I need to wait for another 4-6months before applying for visa?
3. My husband is being sponsored by his elder brother who also has all his funds ready too. What are the documents they need in preparation for his too.
Thank you all
1. Well, a VO will not be wondering why a couple want to individually advance their professional careers. Instead you focus on convincing the vo why the master's is important to your professional careers a.d goals back in Nigeria. However, using your partner as home tie has been severely weakened here. So ensure there are other solid home and economic ties. Also, seeing that both of you recently graduated means your economic ties or financial establishment in your country wouldn't be seen as that Great.
2. Well, everything that has to show his earnings in his chamber as a legal practicioner. Evidence of payments of legal fees, invoices for commission earned on legal fees, his legal license, and many more.
3. Since he has the full funds and have held.it for 6 months, the best thing to do to demonstrate that the funds are genuinely available and accessible for you is to pay your tuition from his acct, then transfer your living expenses into your acct. You can decide to do GIC with the money in your acct to further demonstrate it's availability. No, you don't need to hold the money in your acct. All this can be done in the last week week before submission. The most important thing is providing sufficient docs to prove the funds held in your dad's acct are genuinely his and they are available and accessible which you would have proven by paying tuition from his acct and sending your living expenses to your acct. Bot your acct and your daddy will eventually be submitted in the application.
4. Documents depends on the nature of his business . And in both cases of sponsors, you have to prove relationship btw you and your dad and your hubby and his brother. This will be done by providing birth certificates of your hubby and his brother and their parents NIN, and your birth certificate accompanied with your dad's NIN for your own application.
affoncad: Let mclarify one thing first, so others don’t make the same mistake. Dropping out of school after just one month shows you were unprepared for the financial challenges of studying in Canada. Let’s set the exchange rate aside for now.
Secondly, you broke several rules. You cannot be out of school for more than three months, and even if you are, you must notify IRCC and are not allowed to work during that period. While some students managed to avoid consequences last year, schools have now started filing official reports, especially the University of Manitoba. Last year, this school required no tuition deposit, which was the main reason many students applied just to land in Canada, often following the advice of visa agents. You even asked the same question about this situation when you applied for your visa and again after you got it, so you were fully aware of the risks. What happened to all this advice and information? This stricter enforcement this year has made the situation even more challenging. Now, even to change schools, you must apply for a new study permit.
I know a student who did exactly what you did last year. He was out of school for even fewer months and then changed schools. However, after completing his program this year, his postgraduate work permit (PGWP) was refused. Instead of seeking proper legal advice like you doing now , a poorly informed quack individual advised him to claim asylum—a highly flawed approach to solving a PGWP rejection. His case was expedited, and just 3 months after applying for asylum he was giving very fast asylum hearing date with ircc offical present to add salt to his injury , his claim was denied because it was clearly weak. He is now on appeal, but given the current circumstances, it’s unlikely he will win.
Since you are now in a new school, the record of what you have done since arriving in Canada will significantly impact your future PGWP or PR applications. Seek professional advice immediately.l wish you all the best
Just to correct some things, the law says you can't be out of school for more than 150days. That's 5 months. I don't know about your friend you put out here, but as long as you didn't violate the conditions of your study permit which are you must be enrolled and actively studying with the DLI that brought you into the country, and you aren't out of school for more than 5 months and didn't work during that period the person was out of school, he would have no issue with his PGWP.
eDokita: Please family, I need urgent help, i know this is study permit forum but i feel i can still get the best advise here. I have a challenge right now on my PR application. I am an outland applicant
please i need help. I got nomination with AAIP under rural Renewal stream path way. But had issue with employer business name not being active on CAC website, it is actually struck off as we speak, during the PNP the officer noted this and asked for clarifications which I was able to proof to the officer handling my file that though the company is not active on CAC portal, but it is active physically. I sent in taxes paid, signage and contracts gotten from state government, and was given nomination on that basis. Now my employer have started the process of reactivation and has made necessary payment but the portal did not allow to pay for the last year and we are asked to go to court for court order so the process can be completed and this always takes months before judge seat. Now the court hearing date is next year June. This means the employer business name would be inactive while my application is ongoing. Please note the PNP also saw this infact then it was even struck off but I was later granted nomination after my loe and submitted documents. Now I have applied for PR and waiting for AOR. I am scared cos of employment verification, I might not have the luck I had during PNP.
Don't Know if i should inform IRCC OR wait if they will contact me just like PNP did, but my fear is, what if they did not reach out and reject my application
Please what can I do, and way forward, how can i handle this?
Wait it out. They will ask you for clarification hopefully as PNP did.
Marcgrace: Hello @Everyone! My study permit application was refused yesterday based on the following factors: • Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable). I paid for two years of tuition, had two statement of accounts of 26 million Naira and 28,000 Dollars. I'm feeling let down and could use some guidance - any advice would be appreciated.
Harforlarbee: With my 1000 deposit upon acceptance can I apply for visa with that
You can give it a go but it's risky. Wouldn't advise anyone to take that path cos Canada actually want strong demonstration that you are there to school and best way to demonstrate that is committing significant part of your tuition
Please how long do i need to wait before i can apply for a visit visa, we all know processing time is now 6 month.
My spouse will be going for a 2 years diploma course by September, can i apply for the visit visa by October?
Please has anyone done this before ? Pls share experience.
Thank you. 🙏
October/November will be ideal. Know someone that got in January, did visit visa application for the family in February and was approved in July. But it all depends on how you put out your statement of purpose of visit to convince the VO that you that just entered a month ago is already requesting for your family to join you.
Please my niece is a registered midwifery (Nurse that graduated from college) in Nigeria and she is currently working/practicing.
Recently she started some training on care work to take advantage of the PR IRCC advertised this year for foreign care workers but her challenge now is Nurse and Midwifery portal is down and they are unable to certify her that she is a practicing nurse in Nigeria so WES evaluation may not be possible.
I want her to apply for Personal Supporr Worker (PSW) in Canada but I don't know if Visa Officer will grant her study permit should she get an admission as we may not be able to defend her returning back to Nigeria which is always the basis for getting study permit visa approved.
Other option is to go for her nursing course line but we re looking at the cost which will be more expensive.
I need am advice please for those who have applied for PSW what did you tell the visa officer as the reason you re studying in your SoP because PSW doesn't sell in Nigeria or Africa to justify going to read in Canada and then returning home after graduation.
Kindly advise.
There is option of Post graduate in Gerontology. You can check Fanshawe College or Macewan University.
Just as you were told earlier, a VO might question purpose of study if you go for a basic PSW program with your Nursing BSc.
Ibrahim8358: the password pattern is not working i want to register and track my application
This their tracker is useless. My family visit visa was recently approved. Last time the tracker was updated was when I submitted the application in February
Gifty28: Good afternoon, have you written CIIN foundation level? If yes do you’ve the textbooks. F04 & F07 or F08. The foundation level is 1 year equivalent
So you are saying WES evaluates it as 1 year equivalent right?
As for the books, my wife wrote it few years back. She has given all of them out. Thanks
My wife wrote the CIIN exam in 2021 and just had it evaluated by WES. The report shows it as an "undergraduate certificate (one year)." From my research, this can't be combined with a B.Sc. to claim points for "two or more degrees." Do you know if anyone has used it to claim points along with a B.Sc.?
Hello. Can you put me through on step by step on how your wife evaluated her CIIN with WES? Also was it the foundational certificate she evaluated
chrisifeanyi: You can still pay all your 2 years tuition with enough money in account and still get denied. Paying tuition is encouraged but can never be a basis for rejection. An Iranian guy took IRCC to court in 2023 because his visa was denied reason being he didn't pay any tuition fee except the deposit, he won the case. Go and read about it. People get visa with only tuition deposit. People get denied after paying 1 year tuition and low pof. Payment of tuition is not a criteria for visa. Deposit and LOA is what's is needed to apply for visa. However if you have, pay.
The guy is even asking for schools that wouldn't request for tuition deposit. Don't be quick to refer to past instances as it's not everyone that can go that pathway. Besides, ircc are purposely trying to cut down the visa approvals so why do you want to make their decision very easy for them? Yes you stated the minimum requirements which is tuition deposit, but itcc are now genuinely looking at intl students with genuine funds and ready to study. So if you claim you have sufficient funds why not spend it and show them its available.
Gman08: Please, I want to ask if anyone knows any school or college in Canada where one can apply for a Project Management Masters of Advance Diploma for a study visa without paying any acceptance/school fees before applying for the visa. I will be grateful if anyone has an idea. Thanks
Even those that their school requested for only low tuition deposit ranging from 1k to 2k cad are seeing reasons to pay atleast one semester tuition before applying to boost their chances of approval, you are looking for one that will not request for tuition deposit. Goodluck with your search
My study visa has just been refused for this reason “ That I didn’t submit a valid LOA”… Ofwch I’m very sure i submitted the LOA sent to me from my DLI….
Nothing like home ties of financial wahala… na LOA wahala I con see… 😩
Please what to I do next?
Sorry for the refusal.
What's the name of your school?
It's possible your school didn't respond to ircc enquiry during the verification of LOA within their timeline hence the refusal.
You would have to consult your school first and explain things to them before reapplication. This is me assuming you didn't get admission via an agent that probably gave you a fake LOA.
Finally, in your reapplication, don't be in a hurry to assume every other parts of your application were faultless especially your pof, etc. Reapply while assuming it's a first application even though you will address the LOA issue.
MarksmanD: What people are trying to tell you is that you won't get a visa due to the school that admitted you. It's not a DLI(Designated Learning Institution) institution and you won't be given a PAL(Provincial Attestation Letter) for your study visa application process. You also can't get a Post Graduate Work Permit. What you should do now is to ask the school to refund your deposit. Go on Google, search for DLI institutions in Canada. Click on any of the websites you see in the search result, and apply to any of the schools you see on that list. When you get admitted to any of those schools on the DLI list, you can come back here and ask questions on how to be guided in your study visa application.
The school is a DLI. Every other thing you said is true
Lifewithhardey: I did a one-year program in communications and then another one in journalism. I came in with a one-year program and applied for another course after my first year, which gave me a three-year work permit. You can apply for a one-year permit and reapply for admission, as it is easy to get admission if you are already in the school/Canada system. I also explained it here.
An international student cannot get a study permit approved if the school is not a DLI school. However, they will need to be sure their program is eligible for PGWP. You mixed that up alot.
Also, I was hoping to see how You can apply for a one-year permit and reapply for admission as you said in your write up. Guess what you meant was "you can apply for a 1 year program and reapply for admission.
Momoney77: Good evening all I was denied around February for insufficient funds and lack of home ties... But am planning on re-applying Now my Sponsor who lives abroad is using her account to sponsor me. She wants to transfer some money to my account here as proof of commitment to my study. I have two accounts, Access bank, I have up to 4m dia and GTB which is not my active account. My sponsor wants to send 8m to my GTB account, but it doesn't have any financial activity on it. Reason is that she has a GTB account too Will this be a problem for me if a lump sum of 8-9m is sent into my account that has no activity on it?
This shouldn't be an issue. However your concern should be why your sponsor is sending just 8 million. I hope you have enough funds in your own person acct sufficient to cover your living expenses and miscellaneous expenses
Jeboy: While I agree with you that it is not ideal to claim a situation you cannot defend the ask here is NOT for proof of hometie but proof of Purpose.
Probing Purpose cones first before hometies because even if you are worth over 200 million naira and all the people in your village are your parents and siblings...if your purpose isn't strong you will be rejected. Purpose determines the first reason why you should be considered for the admission so it is very strong.
What he can do here is to approach someone who has an IT company let him get a backdated offer of employment letter with the companys letter head for an entry level IT role and back it up with salary payment to your account which you will also print that you work there. At least 2 months salary payment evidence before you apply.
Also include Leave of absence that shows your employer support your study abroad detailing how it is going to help the company and that your job is guaranteed when you return back. This letter must be written by the company HR or MD. That's how to improve your purpose for applying for the course. This is what I have used before that works. I come in peace.
Also be ready for the HR or MD to be emailed in case there will be need to prove.
The information you dropped here is too much for public consumption especially for a country that has actively been doing all they can do to reduce temporary migration into their country. One have to be smart with the kind of sensitive information dropped here.
Ejeh123: Hello, I really need an advise on what to do. I was at first bank all through last week to send mybankstatment to Canada embassy I was told that It has been deactivate by CBN. Kindly advise me on what to do. I’m set to go for visa submission. Your honest advise will be appreciated.
MBS isn't mandatory. If you can't access your MBS, then Submit a copy generated from your online banking app.
Kambelu: Good day all. Pls has anyone travelled to other countries that Canadian visa permits and returned to canada within days without being questioned at the airport?
I intend to visit Canada and stay for 4 weeks but during my stay I also want to visit Mexico (since the visa permits travel to the country) and spend 5days. Will I be able to go back into Canada and complete my vacation without being asked why I left and returned in just 5days?
Yes with your Canada visit visa, you can visit Mexico and return back to Canada as long as you still have a valid Canada visit visa which is a multiple entry visa. It's legally allowed just have evidence of your activities in Mexico just incase you are asked at the point of reentry into Canada. You will be fine
igmentality: please guys i need suggestions on what to do from here. i intend to reapply so as to meet up with the fall semester or maybe winter. please i need suggestions
These reasons are generic. You would have to drop more details of what was submitted. And a way detailed SOP is needed to address this issue.
