An auntie of his, who is a USA citizen is coming in as a financial supporter, she is paying the first semester tuition and giving him her documents (20k in her bank statement, notarized documents showing she is d mum young sister, her employment letter and ID).
While my kid bro is to arrange about 10-15m POF in his account...

Do u think it's fine to secure a study visa?

Unfortunately this will likely not fly. First, his sponsor being his auntie means it's advisable he holds his 1 year living expenses as well as travel cost in his personal acct while the auntie can hold his tuition balance in her acct as long as the first semester was paid from her acct.

So she can do a gift deed of cash to you but I think the struggle will be convincing the VO why your auntie should be almost clearing her whole savings to see you through school

But in this case, I’ve already paid for the tuition in full, there’s a GIC of $20,635 for living expenses and an additional 25M in my personal account which has been there for close to 6 months. My question is not about the proof of funds, it’s more about the SOURCE, to show that the money is legit, my dad is my sponsor and he has given me everything needed which I listed above, plus an affidavit of sponsorship.
So my question is, to show that the money came from a legit source are his employment records enough? In this case, Appointment letter, Payslips, CAC, Personal Tax Clearance and Business tax clearance. Or is it a must add that I add his SOA ?

People have gotten visa approvals on the 3rd or 4th attemp after initial refusal(s). So the answer is yes if you can address the concerns of the VO. Be ready to prove the funds you have aren't for demonstrative purposes anyway

The POF was in my sponsor's account and I explained his sourcec of funds. I only attached my business document to prove home ties that I am coming back to the business after studies

The honest truth is from my personal observation on various GCMs notes I have seen recently, no matter who your sponsor is, the applicant's economic/employment establishment in his/her country is greatly influential in these applications especially those applicant's that have finished school atleast 5 years ago. Newly school leavers in their late 20s can be excused. Don't know your age or when you finished school. But these stuffs are factors that also now affect applications.
Apart from making sure you show relationship between your dad and you, show his source of income and all supporting docs, if possible demonstrate further by making further Expenses from his acct, you will need to convince the VO that you are economically established in your country if you have finished school significant years ago.

I saw an application rejected for this same reason. GCMS notes stated the person wasn't economically established because his salary was about 300dollars(VO converted the naira months salary of the person). This is despite the person fully paying tuition and doing 20k GIC for a 1 year program that his brother fully sponsored him for.
I understood the VO logic cos the person was presumed to have finished school years back and been working for over 6 to 7years. VO is probably asking himself, will this person return to naija after study in Canada? Am sure you understand my point.

If you want to do it yourself, I advise you invest your time and be patient enough to visit previous threads and start from page 1 where you get the basic required docs. Then if you diligently go through the pages of the thread especially previous threads when this place was really active, you will see useful responses to possible questions you might want to ask along the way.

Ofcourse. 1 year gets your 1 year pgwp
2 years gets you 3years pgwp. I am assuming the courses are pgwp eligible.
With the current immigration policies in canada, getting a PR with a 1 year pgwp has even become very very difficult and almost impossible now.

It's your responsibility to point out to the VO in your sop/loe that you have an unconditional scholarship of 5000

Yes he can. And you do a gift deed for the total amount sent to you. Then also write a sponsorship letter from your sponsor

It was a wrong move. Well, just wait and get your decision letter.

Not submitting your personal acct or not having sufficient funds in your personal acct to cover atleast your one year living expenses and travel cost could get the VO doubting your accessibility and availability of the funds declared in your sponsor's acct.
Also, VO could deem it that you aren't economically established in your home country

Your own acct should be holding atleast your first year living expenses and travel cost.

Either you do an 18months masters or you do 2 different 1 academic year programs. It's called 1+1. But each of the program must ne eligible for pgwp for it to count.

Yes it's possible but the few ppl I knew that did it actually did it within same school. So it was easier for them.
You will need to extend your study permit almost immediately especially if you are changing to a different school.

First, if she wants to apply for a visit visa, I will advise you get in first and stay atleast a month before you invite them so you have a solid logical reasoning of inviting them.
The challenge is your program is just 8 months and the application could easily be rejected for purpose of visit as why are you suddenly inviting them when your program will be done in next u months and you are returning to your country. You understand my point right?
But you can give it a try, in the past, it use to easily fly but since the whole thing became tighter, getting a visit visa has become difficult and most applications are easily dismissed for purpose of visit.
As for her going to school, isn't that waste of funds? It's not going to be easy both of you studying and having to try work part time and still take care of the kids.

If you don't want to explore the option of doing the visit visa which I advise you wait till you enter first, then explore option of getting in, try change to a 16months masters program, get a study permit extension then apply for sowp for your wife and visit/study permit for your kids. Changing to masters program depends on alot though.

All my siblings have gone through this process and they all stay in Canada, I also have a US B1/B2 visa and a Schengen visa. I always came back on time, will my travel history be enough to convince the visa officer.

You will need to come up with solid convincing home ties because your canada ties are looking very solid assuming your siblings that all left are still in Canada

It can fly. Let her just give explanation why she wants to do that second program. She can say while doing the PSW, she volunteered at so so places and that spiked her interest in taking a second program in social works or ECE. If the place she is currently working at in Canada has anything related to do with the second program, that will be better. But just stating that volunteering will also fly. Done it for quite a handful of ppl.

Finally, the most important thing is for the vo to be convinced that she has the pof to cover the second program. If she has completed tuition for the first PSW program, let her draw the vo attention to it.

Should they put the money in one person’s account or split it, can they use their account or it’s compulsory to present the sponsor bank statement?
I meant should the money be transferred to their wife or his and account or they should leave it in the mother in law account? If they are to use their account will they still need the sponsor bank statement?

Their greatest challenge will be convincing the VO due to their economic establishment in Nigeria. I am referring to their low salary. On top of that, the husband and wife want to travel same time been sponsored by husband's mum. Will be very difficult convincing a VO of your intention is to truly study and return to Nigeria

Please its been over 6months i applied for study permit extension together with work permit extension for my spouse and study permit extension for our kids, and no response on our application.
The authorization to work given to my husband after submitting the application will expire in a few days, does that mean he has to stop working until he a decision is made on our application? His employer is disturbing him to provide his work permit too.

Note that I submitted the extension application at first because I needed time to complete my first program. When my first program was completed without hearing from ircc, I submitted my new LOA for a new program as addition to my ongoing application as advised here. Did I do anything wrong?

Is your program a masters program or any of these programs that are eligible for OAPs since the change of the policy? If no, was the application submitted after the change of the policy last year? If yes, then you will need serious prayers because alot of renewal of SOWPs for ppl in this category i mentioned above have had their SOWP applications rejected apparently due to them not being eligible.

Volatile nature of the acct, the opening and closing balance, and the explanations you give for all i listed including the supporting docs will determine if you are well economically established.

For visit visa, your chances of successfully getting a visa solely depends on how you can convince the visa officer that you are temporarily going to visit and you will definitely leave after visiting.
The things that you can use to convince them are:
If the VO is fully convinced you are economically well established in Nigeria. Which is determined by the sufficient supporting documents you submit to show you are gainfully employed for years consistently and well paid, or have a well established striving business. If you fail to do this, you will not be getting a visit visa approved.

Other things to be considered are solid home and family ties.

We all know that the international student Open Work Permit mobility program is what international students use in bringing their spouses and dependent children or minor to Canada. Int'l students' status give room for OWP qualification and then dependent children.

Can you apply for dependent children study alone without linking it to a parent who holds/will hold an Intl Student visa or an OWP via the mobility program? There lies the answer, just take the OWP (head) away and dependent (study visa) is cut off. Intl Student brings FDI so it is economically viable to avoid recession.

The whole idea is Canada wants to reduce foreign immigration population to barely 5% due to social infrastructure which they say is currently overstretched.

They can only accommodate spouse with in-demand skills as trade-off to allowing that foreign population number because it comes as a win-win not dependents.

They know foreign dependents takes toll on schools, healthcare, housing and these are the things they want to reduce. It all pure National Immigration Policy to preserve their social infrastructure. Look at the policy with the big picture (goals and objectives).

Are you saying what you think it should be or what the law clearly states?
You also forget that there are single parents that don't have spouses that would be interested in taking their kids along or intl students that their spouses aren't even interested in going to Canada. In those cases, the intl student travel with the kids.

The current revised policy is clear, dependent kids eligible for school still get to travel and study in Canada.

Yes it affects them. The law is already was effective jan 21 for everyone.
Your spouse will have to get a job offer in teer 0,1 and some selected jobs in teer 1 and 2 for you to be eligible for OWP when he/she switches to pgwp.

Generally, most of the kids aren't affected. However, dependent kids that were eligible for OWP are no longer eligible. Example dependent kids not more than 21 that were through with secondary schools and were in the past eligible for OWP are no longer eligible.

I currently hold a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and plan to apply for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) under the Student Stream. I have a PhD from Nigeria, which I did not declare when I applied for my study visa/permit a few years ago. This was due to the unavailability of the certificate and WES verification at that time.

My question is whether it is advisable to now declare my PhD in the OINP application, as it would earn me an additional 2 points. The PhD certificate predates both the date of my initial study visa application and my extension.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or input on this matter.

Yes you can add it. But be ready to explain if the VO notices it. Just gather your evidence of the certificate not being available when you applied for your study permit
