Although the French, who have plenty of NBA-caliber talent in their squad, were able to match them for the first quater, the defending champions quickly began to wear them down there after.
Kevin Durant led the Americans with 22points while Kevin Love had 14 and Kobe Bryant 10. Durant added nine rebounds. We started off slow, but we did a great job of fighting through a little adversity and pulling out a good win, said Durant. Everybody expect us to win by a great margin but we know the game is not that easy. There are so many great players and team here, we know the process, but if we don't start well we will do a better job of finishing.
