I have two for sale . . .just cleared from tin-can island grin
Re: Brand New Honda Accord 2008 Model by sultaan(m): 1:14am On Dec 17, 2007
All of you guys claiming to have one for sale didn't even know that the attached pic is of a prototype, and the real accord is slightly different from one posted.

A $20,000 car for N4m+ is pure madness to me.
Re: Brand New Honda Accord 2008 Model by blueband(m): 1:01pm On Dec 17, 2007

That accord is not that finer than 2007 model to me.I mean the all red tail light accord(that's 2007.right?)I saw a v6 of the socalled 2008 the other day and iam disappointed.2007 camry still beats them all
Re: Brand New Honda Accord 2008 Model by Teejay07(m): 3:33am On Dec 21, 2007
thegame,

the Camry 2007 Model definitely is no match for the Honda in question. You need to check out the styling and other features of the Camry, it beats the Honda anyday. And, with mu experience Toyota Brands are generally more durable than Hondas. Overtime, Honda seems to have lost touch with reality.

For Year 2007,the Camry is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Somebody needs to explain where the extra $38,000 came from [6700000/115 = $58260.9]. Cost more than an E350. Cars in Nigeria aren't this expensive. That Honda is not what is currently in production either.

Me Sir, Me sir,

Somebody told me that Nigerians have more money than sense, and anyway it's all stolen money and that the ground in Lagos is paved with oil.

But seriously isn't 100% profit the norn in Lagos, especially when selling imaginary products.

Who in his right mind will burn almost $40000 on a car with has been technology and light weight? This is nothing but a reason for inflation. If 100% profit is the normality in Lagos, then Nigerians need to start changing the way they think. $60,000 for a Honda!!! Car dealing redefined!

The Nigerian Government is the cause of inflated price of all comodities in Nigeria.
Its a player, referee and game commisioner at the same time.
Make laws on car shipping/importation to benefit local assemblies(not Nigerians); also a major shareholder in assemblies. The failure of these arrangement was the reason the government was the only customer of local assemblies. Decision of government to use supplied BMW forCOJA instead of buyiny locally assembled imports sealed the coffin. All the government does now is sit at ports and extort $2000 dollars from Nigerians on each car they bring in for personal use. If the government enriches itself at detriment of Nigerians trying to get affordable transportation, why won't people sell cars for more than double listed price. When the government divested from auto assemblies, it decided to make money in auto without breaking any sweat by robbing Nigerians at gunpoint in ports(refuse to pay, they take your car) collecting $2000 on <$3000 car does not make any mathematical/economic sense. Anyway Nigerian economy doesn't make much sense either

Here is the going rate for a 2008 Accord

Is this Accord 2.0L or 2.4L  and what's the sales price? To be fair, the Honda is about £26,000 in the UK, for those of you screaming that the price is doubled in Nigeria. Cars are cheaper in the USA because the manufacturers make their money in the volume of cars sold.

cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy grin , this is so funny!
Guys, open your minds. The rich do not spend their time looking for how much it is sold in the US.
They simply buy because the money isn't a big deal. How much is N6.0Million??, they don't care!! They simply want to be the first guy or girlfriend/wife to use it. The high cost is the price of novelty for them! A girlfriend probably stole N3.0Million from his hotel closet last weekend anyway!!
People spend stupendous money on hopeless real estate in Lagos. Some of the real estate prices in Lagos makes Manhattan look cheap!. Yet you are surprised at them spending $60,000 on a toy? - try N650million ($5million +) for undeveloped land in Ikoyi/VI or $25,000 on a wrist watch!
Although everything in Nigeria is grossly inflated due to our convoluted and unintelligent government policies, the real culprit is our culture of hype, oppression and a brazen desire to display ill-gotten and ostentatious wealth (gotten at the expense of the masses!). This trend can be seen in almost every Nigerian - they want the best of everything (even if they can't afford it) and no thought is given to simple and productive lifestyles - We are simply consumers!!
Anyhow, nobody cares! - because the people that suffer most from it are the same people who are most impressed by it!!. I am first of all a business man and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to sell one to the so-called Noveau-Rich if I have gone through the stress of bringing one in.

I concur with the statement above. N6million is like pennies to hundreds of thousands of Nigerians, and these lucky ones will continue to spend their money as they see fit. Trust me, some of them are regular forumites here, and they do indeed buy these expensive cars. It is their right to spend their money as they wish and our right to provide them with sales services with pleasure.

We all hope the politicians will deal with the economic divide and provide an environment that will promote economic well-being for all Nigerians. But at the end of the day, each individual is responsible for his own successes and failures.

Cheers
