Hi all,
I have a nissan maxima 2000 SE. Been showing "service engine soon" light for some weeks now.
Also the transmission has been acting funny lately. I had the AC compressor changed some weeks ago and in the process some ATF drained.
My mechanic topped the ATF up after which I noticed a drop in performance of the transmission. After investigation I realised he topped it which a wrong type of fluid (Type A). The can revs more shifting gear from 1 to 2 and 3. Atimes the car seem to be crawling.

I need someone to please recommended a reliable Nissan auto repairer who can carry out a proper scan/diagnostic on my car. Intend to have the ATF change but I need expert opinion before I do so. My preference is someone on the island, reasonable price and experienced. Please recommend. Thanks.

1. Check d gearbox sensors and make sure its ok. 2. Did you guage d ATF fluid. Before you do work on it!. Make sure the fluid is at least a little above guage. My 1999 ALTIMA needs d transmission fluid to be a bit excess before it picks up excellently.. But if you are sure its a wrong ATF. Get it drained. Then fill in d new one, let it be a little bit above d guage. Then let d car steam for like 20 mins.
