How is it.

It is a very well-made enjoyable movie, a biopic, about Ip Man, Bruce Lee 's martial arts master. It stars Donnie Yen as as the character Ip Man amidst his life adventures before and during the World War 2 occupation of China by Japanese troops.

It's a fun movie even without the fantastic martial arts featured (The Raid just narrowly beat its 'wow!' factor).

Ip Man was a grandmaster in the martial arts of Wing Chun named after the woman who originated the style. Wing chun is also Sammo Hung's liked style and he choreographed the fights then starred in Ip Man 2. Ip Man is credited with spreading the Wing Chun style around the world and famous taught Bruce Lee who would later go on to further develop the techniques into his own Jeet Kune Do.
Interestingly, Donnie Yen, star of Ip Man and Hong Kong's top action star today, learnt his martial arts from his mother as well who was a grandmaster. Plus Donnie Yen is considered the closest to Bruce Lee by many, in terms of speed and technique.

I saw only Part 2. It was spectacular.

Not bad at all. Found his fighting style rather funny though.

I av seen part 1, 2 & 3...
Part 3 is my favourite, its titled (IPMAN Reborn). D story of how he evolved d Wing Chun style & when he was a lot younger as a teen growin up. He met an Old Man (Leung Bik) who schooled him, dat scene wil remain in my memory 4 Ever. This time it was Donnie Yen dat starred as d Main Character. Its 1 Guy av bin seein in Chinese movie lately. D Trio is an Awesome movie.
Part 1 has d Best Combo 've eva seen in a Movie 2 kill dat Japanese Fighter.
part 2 was Equaly Gud.


I lyk dis chinese Peeps, they kip makin Movies bout their Legends. jetli in Fearless. jakie chan as (Wong fei Hong) in Legend of d Druken Master.

There isn't really a 'part 3', that was a different movie about the same person by different people.

The first part's truly the best one.
