I have interest on this programme - Certified Information System Auditor, CISA. Can someone tell me what the course is all about and where they work. I stay in Abuja. Can i get the requirements for the course and where i can get trained.

It will really be nice to have u aboard the CISA train. Though I'm not CISA certified neither am I based in Abuja, but I must confirm that there's a wealth of job opportunities for IS Auditors. Virtually all multinationals, most medium scale businesses and of course professional consultancy firms require their services from time to time. I intend writing my exams in the December diet, as I'm currently undergoing training at Rhythex consulting, Ilupeju, Lagos. Though the whole package is quite pricey, bt d dearth of these professionals in Nigeria cannot be over-emphasized.
What IS Auditors do?
They give assurance, analyze risks and threats in a coy. They ensure controls, procedures and policies are upheld. Virtually all banks have internal auditors; although one can also function as an external auditor, as it is d case for the likes of Pricewatercoopers, Akintola Williams Deloitte, Jide Taiwo etc.

I read Philosophy and has an MBA. Can i get admitted to read the course. What is the rough financial implication both for local training and the exams proper.

Training ranges btwn 70-75k and exams proper is $545. It doesn't require a prequisite qualification. Just have d interest - which I think u possess and u're good to go!

Does CISA require training in accounting? Or maybe a professional cert like ICAN first? I'm a Mathematics graduate, fresh off uni, undecided about a career path. From wat I've read here, CISA seems to be interesting. But 'd rather not hav to do ICAN first.

CISA, has to do with IT it doesn't require accounting knowledge or training. Anyone can read and pass the exam but to become a success IT Auditor you would need to develop practical IT skills that would help you recognize vulnerabilities in information assets. After you pass the exam you would need to show 5 years working experience before you can be certified a BSC could be substituted for 2 years experience.
