Team News
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will bring back all his big names for Sunday's visit of Manchester United.

Steven Gerrard, Luis Suárez, Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger, Joe Allen and Martin Kelly were all rested for Thursday night's 5-3 Europa League win at Young Boys but will return as the Reds go looking for their first Premier League victory of the season.

Forwards Fabio Borini and Raheem Sterling, substitutes in Switzerland, are likely to start while midfielder Jonjo Shelvey pressed his claims for inclusion with a two-goal second-half cameo.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young misses the match after being ruled out for a further two to three weeks with knee cartilage trouble.

Wayne Rooney will also be absent due to a gashed thigh despite reports he was due to make an earlier-than-expected comeback.

Darren Fletcher, who came on as a substitute in the Champions League win over Galatasaray in midweek having recovered from a chronic bowel condition, is not being considered for a return to the starting line-up with Sir Alex Ferguson instead pin-pointing next Wednesday's Capital One Cup clash with Newcastle.

Match Notes
Nobody wants to see the ferocity of this fixture compromised, but the boundaries of ill taste are being judged when the supporters come face to face.

Liverpool’s first home game since the recent Hillsborough report ensures an afternoon of raw emotion.

There could be no more appropriate time for Brendan Rodgers to secure his first win, but United have enjoyed more success at Anfield than any other team in the Premier League.

u expect Valencia to be on the bench? ok! undecided and Paul Scholes to start his third game in just over 7 days? ok! shocked u expect Sir Alex to play 4-4-2 in a difficult place like Anfield? angry ok! u really underestimate the intelligence of the man cheesy

4-5-1 formation: De Gea; Rafael, Evans, Vidic, Evra; Anderson, Cleverley, Valencia, Nani, Kagawa; van Persie.

there may be one or two alterations tho {Ferdinand, Buttner, Carrick}. don't bet on Liverpool, United have a habit of shooting miracles even when they play shyte wink

DID YOU KNOW?

* In their last five Premier League meetings, both sides have been on the scoresheet; the last time a side kept a clean sheet in this fixture was in October 2010 when Liverpool won 2-0.

* Brendan Rodgers’ side are still looking for their first clean sheet of this season, having kept 11 in the Premier League last year

* Liverpool have had 75 shots so far this season – the most in the league – but only 15 of them have been on target.

* Luis Suarez has created more goalscoring chances than anyone in the Premier League (12), but has yet to register an assist.

* Nemanja Vidic and Michael Carrick are the only two players to have started all four Premier League games for Manchester United this term.

* Danny Welbeck has yet to have a shot on target in the Premier League, despite 10 attempts so far this season; seven of them came in last week’s win over Wigan.

Then where did our 9 points come from?
@topic, its gona be a hard game for both sides. Fergie's gona pack the midfield wit 5 players, the flank is goin to be the key to success, and wit wingers like Nani and Valencia, manutd wil have an upper hand. But lets keep a close eye on Shevey, that bald headed guy has been runing agog since this season.

I pray Rodgers uses his brain tomoro. Our midfield is better united's midfield. A 4-4-2 formation with Shelvy and Suarez up front while d likes of Allen, Sahin, Gerrard and Henderson do the dirty work in d midfield. Play Kelly at right bak and Johnson at left to mark Valencia so that Skrtel and Agger will play in d central defence. While Sterling, Borini and Coates start from d bench. The highest united will get is a draw. UP LIVERPOOL

RODGERS is a " one-way" thinking manager, He is gonna play his normal 4-3-3 formation, I just pray this time around he starts Suarez from the left and Boroni centre!
Suarez seems 2 be having goal hard luck and should be left wide 2 cause havoc for defenders and in position 2 set up others for goal as well as cutting deep and shooting! While this Boroni of a guy doesn't have amazing footworks but He sure makes some inteligent runs and looks much more hungry 4 goals.
GOODLUCK 2 de REDS!

When Sunday's game kicks-off, Liverpool FC have to
be confident.
All of a sudden now, you play Manchester United and
know you are going to get chances.
There was a period not so long ago, when you faced
them and knew it was going to be a really tough 90
minutes.
But now, you look at their central midfield and it's
not great and they still don't have what I would call a
top class right back.
In the past, when the team-sheets have come
through and you've seen names such as Roy Keane
or Paul Ince, you immediately felt you had your work
cut out.
But the partnership of Tom Cleverly and Michael
Carrick doesn't quite give you the same feeling.
And it didn't surprise me to hear that Galatasaray
had a number of chances to score on Wednesday
night in the Champions League tie at Old Trafford.
Every side that has played them so far has had
chances.
United got out of jail down at St Mary's against a
Southampton side who do not look a particularly
great Premier League side yet.
So it gives me hope and if we can produce a similar
type of performance to the one we delivered against
Manchester City and Sunderland then it is very much
game on.

All these names u mentioned sound strange. Used to see Liverpool's team sheet and fringe at the sight of names like Alonso, kuyt, torres, gerrard, luis garcia, sissoko etc. Lvpul's glory days went wit the departure of Rafæl benitex.
