Sedan 4 doors, coupe 2 door. |

An old post, but hey, it's educative, so here goes. . . Not all Sedans have 2 doors, and not all 2 door cars are classed as Coupés. The Sedan and Coupé reference is more to do with the shape of the car. Examples are Volkswagen Jetta Sedan - available both as 2 and 4 door guise. Of late, Coupés are now available as 4-door models, with low rooflines. A prime example is the 2006> Volkswagen Passat CC (Comfort Coupé) which is a 4-door, but with a low, wide profile. Note: The Sedan reference is used in Canada, North America, Australia and New Zealand. In Europe, the Sedan reference is replaced by Saloon. |
