Information About Studying In Norway by macphilip: 11:10pm On Sep 24, 2012
Hello guys, pls i need info from Nigerians who are currently studying their masters programme in Norway.
Am a 2009 graduate of Physics with Second Class Upper (3.7). I finished from FUTA.
Am having interest in doing my M.Sc programme in Norway.

I intend going for an M.Sc in Medical Physics or Geophysics, i discovered there are very scare qualified medical physicists/Radiologists in Nigerian hospitals. Geophysics is my second choice.

When does their admission application starts? how is their school calender as i don't really under the Autumn/Winter period there. what cities/towns are the best place to study & live?

Please what are the major challenges one would encounter along the way from applying to getting your permit and traveling?
If am granted an admission and the student residence permit, What about the Language barrier, is it advisable i learn the Norwegian language before traveling.

On securing an admission, About the immigration requirements, what account would i send the NOK89600 to, my family are saying is it safe to send such huge money abroad before getting there, would the school/bank not deny receiving such money after i may have sent it.
does the student permit covers for my 2 years of masters study in Norway or I would have to renew it the second year.

Also, in terms of students part time jobs, can i easily get one to support myself while studying.

finally, i heard the Norwegians may be unfriendly, or racially abusive. Am pointing to the terrorism bombings that happened recently there?
So many questions, please pardon me as i need this info in order to convince my sponsors.

Have already been to the relevant Norwegian study websites, i just need real life responses from Nigerians already living and studying there.
Thanks
