Sienna, I need some advice from your end about Audis. Couldn't find a PM function in this forum so I guessed this might be the best place to post my question.

I drive a Right Hand Drive 5-speed automatic transmission B5 1.8T from 1997. I'm intending to swap to a manual gearbox, however I was told all B5 1.8T manuals from 1997 are Quattro models, what are your advice on this?

I wished to perform the manual tranny swap without modifying to Quattro, need your advice please. I am no mechanic, basically my cars with a mechanic, and all mechanics in Malaysia are not exactly smart people, worst of all, they're sort of lazy and only loves buying new parts and replacing them for us, and not wanting to explore into multiple possibilities.

Thank you so much, and my car has been stranded for 2 months, I really wouldn't want to overhaul my gearbox again, as the last round I overhauled is just a mere 1 year back, and now its dead again, so I can't really trust whether they really did a good job overhauling gearboxes, and Audi's reputation had suffered because of irresponsible mechanics like the ones we had in Malaysia. Thank you!
