Buy it at your own risk!
The build quality is not it at all, it's creaky and when you press the back, you can feel it squishy!
I'm an android fan but i must warn you, this tablet was ill conceived!
The new multitasking features, floating apps and split screen, just aren't any good.
Compatibility is limited to a handful of not-very-useful TouchWiz apps, and split screen has terrible lag when switching between the two open apps.
A 1280x800 resolution display on a flagship device is not ok.
Asus does 1920x1200, and Samsung makes a 9.7 inch, 2048x1536 display for Apple.
They seriously cheaped out here.
No NFC
Out of the box, this thing runs like crap. I mean it.
I'm talking slower than a Xoom. The home screens, in particular, laboriously move along at around 15 FPS.
The reason is the default widget setup. These 4 squares - Clock, Media Hub, Game Hub, and Music Hub - kill performance. So if you see anyone calling this thing slow, that's why. Remove them and everything speeds up to the normal, expected smoothness.
In all, i think Sammy is taking people for a ride!
Let me reiterate again, i'm still an android fan but with these, i believe Samsung is taking people for a ride! angry

annoymous: Now I'm uber-confused. Is this different from the Galaxy note 2? I thot the essence of the note was to be a go-between the tablet n the fone - why z dis one 10.1 inches? How z it different from Galaxy tab with 10.1" screen? Why are there so many 'Galaxy' categories - tab, phone, note, pocket etc
This is not the Galaxy Note 2 bro.

The guy was joking. Dare compare a customised Gulf Stream jet (SGN 10.1) with Boeing 747 aircraft (BB)

llouis: This is not news na, its been out for like eleven-teen days now.
In SLOT it goes for 105k, and no thanks to it other galaxy tab prices have come down drastically.
Had i known i would have waited a while before rushing to get the 8.9", now i have to patiently await its ICS update, hoping after yhe update it would be able to at least receive calls.

And who's the dude comparing the norebook to the playbook?
Abeg eh, if na play stop am!
sad sad sad

chuckled at ENHANCING LEARNING CAPABILITY. . .obviously Samsung does not really know the Nigerian market, especially the schools.

This is a country where using scientific calculator in schools is still frowned on....Yeah, if you haven't crammed the four figure table, you are not intelligent. So what enhancing learning capability are they talking about? Which teacher, who most likely can't find his way around an ordinary PC, will allow a Galaxy pad in his class?

Except of course Samsung means something else by ENHANCING LEARNING CAPABILITY.

Do they?

Yes they do, it happens all over the workld....they all chea...grin grin
