There are two options to shipping a vehicle by ocean freight:
RoRo
Container

RoRo ($975.00)
RoRo refers to Roll On/Roll Over; this is where the vehicle is rolled onto the vessel, then rolled over in it's destination country. The process for this works as follows:
Arrangements and the decision to ship by RoRo have been made and agreed upon
Upon receipt of the title, or scanned copy of it (as the original title should always stay with the vehicle), we can make a booking with the ocean liner.
Depending on your location, we can request a quote from our clients and give you the best price for transport to the port
Please know that you can drive the vehicle to the port yourself, however, you should be aware that there is generally a 4-6 hour wait while there
As the NY port is a major port on the eastern seaboard, it sees VERY heavy traffic. Due to the high volume of vehicles that are shipped internationally, the RoRo vehicles are considered "first come first serve." This means that, upon arrival to the port, the vehicle will remain there until the ocean liner assigns it a vessel.
Once the vehicle has been assigned to a vessel, the ocean liner contacts Grandbelle with the day of departure and the estimated time arrival.
The ocean liner then mails us a Bill of Lading (original) for the vehicle which we send to Nigeria and consign to our Lagos office
During this time, a scanned copy of the Bill of Lading is also forwarded to the client's email
Upon receipt of the Bill of Lading (original) in Nigeria, our Lagos office will contact the consignee to pick up the document
Once the vessel arrives in Nigeria, with the Bill of Lading, the customer can now retrieve their vehicle
RoRo vehicles must be empty upon arrival to the port, meaning NO personal items should be left inside.
There is NO way to track a RoRo at the port awaiting a vessel
There is NO way to track a RoRo during it's journey
Container ($1,650.00)
The process for shipping a vehicle by container is as follows:

Depending on your location, we can request a quote from our clients and give you the best price for transport to the warehouse
Please know that you can drive the vehicle to the warehouse yourself, once they and Grandbelle are both aware of the day you wish to do so

Vehicles that are being sent by container CAN have goods in them, however, note the following:
If we are transporting the vehicle for you, please ensure that the vehicle can be driven safely with the goods in them
If we are transporting the vehicle for you, we generally do NOT load goods into them, as this is extra liability on our part, and would rather avoid the possible complications
If you are driving the vehicle to our warehouse, yourself, still please ensure that the vehicle can be driven with the goods in them
At the warehouse, our ocean manager, Khris, personally oversees the loading of the containers and ensures that your vehicle is safe and secure inside of the the container
Once the container is loaded, the warehouse staff moves the container to the port to be loaded on the pre-assigned vessel
Once the container has sailed, tracking is available from the Container Number, and the estimated time of arrival to Lagos is updated daily

Our container bookings are generally with the ocean liner ACL-Grimaldi, as they are direct connections and have an estimated sail time of eighteen (18) days
Delmas is trans-shipment that has stops and an estimated sail time of thirty five (35) days

Upon arrival to Nigeria, the consignees will be contacted to retrieve their goods and vehicles
Please allow 7-10 days for clearing
Shipping your vehicle by container is the recommended method we give to our clients, due to the ability to track and the additional safety
The extra safety is there, due to the fact that the vehicle is always in Grandbelle's care, and we are the ones to oversee is, every step of the way
Shipping your vehicle by container allows for it to be filled with personal goods as well
Although some people choose RoRo over container, solely based on the pricing, they oversee the loss of volume within the vehicles. This volume alone is cheaper to fill in a vehicle going by container, than the same volume in a container not in a vehicle

No offense bro, but surely this is a typo?
Why would I pay to have my vehicle damaged by being rolled over? Surely you mean ROLL ON, ROLL OFF?
Otherwise, good information!

Have they been changes or is this information still up to date? I'm looking to import a car from the US and I want it shipped in a sealed container.
