Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), Dr Victoria Okojie has called on security operatives in the country to ensure the prompt release of one of its members kidnapped at the weekend in Rivers State.

According to a statement by LRCN’s Chief Information Officer, Mrs Ngozi Oboh, the Chairman of Nigerian Library Association, Rivers State Chapter, Dr Femi Quadri, also the Librarian of the Federal College of EducationTechnical) Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on October 13, 2012 at 7:00pm in a village near Omoku, his work station.

Okojie condemned the act, describing it as “most inhuman and unpatriotic.” She said the time had come for a more holistic approach to
nipping the nefarious act of kidnapping.
