Al-Ahly of Egypt hosts Nigeria's Sunshine Stars in the 2nd leg of their CAF champions league semifinal tie. The first leg in Akure ended in a 3-3 draw, which certainly favors Al-Ahly, having scored 3 away goals. The famous Egyptian side need only a 0-0, 1-1, 2-2 draw or a win in order to advance to the final. While the pressure will be on the Akure based team to nick an outright win or at least a 4-4 draw in Cairo.

The fact that visiting teams hardly get a win in Cairo seems daunting, but Sunshine FC might be boosted by the news that the 2nd leg match will be played behind closed doors due to the death of 74 fans at an Egyptian domestic game in Port Said. The referee for this game is Alioum Neant (Cameroon).

The winner of this fixture faces either TP Mazembe of DRC or Esperance of Tunisia.

Ahly Ultras clashed with a
group of Egyptian League
players protesting the
continued suspension of the
domestic league.
The Ultras are a group of hard-
core Al Ahly supporters.
Nigerian club Sunshine Stars,
who were scheduled to play Al
Ahly in a CAF Champions League
semi-final on Sunday, are
lodged at the hotel.
The players, led by former Egypt
international Ayman Abdelaziz,
told KickOffNigeria.com that
they want to draw international
attention to their plight.
"For almost one year, there has
been no football in Egypt,"
Abdelaziz, who represented
Egypt at the 2000 Africa Cup of
Nations, said. "We have no
problem with Sunshine Stars,
we just want those responsible
to take action and restart the
League, otherwise this game
will not go on."
The protest turned violent when
another group, said to be Ah
Ahly Ultras, arrived at the scene.
Sticks and stones were used
freely.
As both group clashed, shots
were fired and tear gas
canisters shot by police.
So far, no one has been
reported injured.
Players and officials of Sunshine
Stars have been confined to
their rooms.
