Nigeria’s Peter Odemwingie was the match winner in West Brom’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea,in their week 12 fixture of the English Premiership.
West Brom went into the lead through Shane Long,after evading David Luiz to head home a cross beyond Petr Cech. The Albions looked the livelier of both teams,with Chelsea looking tired as Ramirez,Oscar and Juan Mata,started on the bench after a tiring international midweek.
Chelsea came back in the game,with Eden Hazard crossing the ball to Aziplicueta,who in turn crossed it back to the Belgian whose head shot took a deflection on Jones for the equaliser.
The goal breathed life into Chelsea,who started rampaging West Brom’s defence,but it ended 1-1 going into the half-time.
West Brom showed that their position in the league was no fluke,going in front through Odemwingie,who connected his head to Shane Long’s cross to make the scores 2-1.
