For me it's a place for breaking news. Most news hit nairaland even before they become news. A place to learn about human behaviour and public opinion. A place to share ideas, and listen to opinions of others. A place to take a peep at what is happening in naija. At times, a place to bear insult from people who think you are of their age or category. A place to get to know the importance of garri from the garri team. I have noticed that for some people,it is a place to practice the ambiguous,unintelligent and offensive words they have picked up from the gutters. It is not uncommon to see threads derailed by some very familiar words like the one that starts with f,shut up,go tell your mother...blablabla.... Nairaland, a place of tribal war. (I never knew the meaning of tribalism until i came to Nairaland). Also, Nairaland is my writing tool. I used to be a very good writer. I've written some short stories, poems even drama. But along the way i lost interest in writing. But in Nairaland i am poised to writing even when i don't feel like. |
