I think that The NYSC programme should be scrapped! Frankly if u think about the number of months some people have to wait before going 4 service and also the fact that Nysc just wastes one year of most pples' lives (except for a lucky few who are retained where they served), the whole thing can be considered irrelevant. Maybe before NYSc was doing some good when d number of graduates wasn't so high and when there wasn't so much "striking" in our schools but now that we all know how unkind the job market is to graduates over a certain age who have no 'working experience'its not right to ask pple to go for such exercise. The Govt does not have any right use young nigerians where they have failed to provide qualified teachers or adequate human resources especially they didn't contribute enough to giving us quality education or providing us with a learning environment where we can calculate exactly when we'll gradaute!!

Seriously, I don't know who makes decision in Nigeria. You get out of school late due to ASUU, then u wait at home 4-6 months for NYSc and then waste another 1 year serving in a dead place or where you won't be retained. Wasted youth
