Sometimes in November I missed an early flight to Maiduguri. I decided to take another flight (Arik) to Jos so that I can proceed from there and make it same day to Maiduguri not knowing that things are never the way they used to be. Immediately I landed Jos I asked the cab guy to take me to Bauchi park so that I can take a taxi heading to Bauchi since it`s one of the closest city to Maiduguri. The guy replied Oga no try am ooo, time don pass, make e no be your dead body them go carry come back. That was when I knew things had totally gone bad. My flight to Jos is now waste. I had to lodge in a hotel owned by a Christian that day.

The next day I set out for Maiduguri. Military check points from Jos to Maiduguri all the way. Most towns/cities were all deserted. No network service as most if not all the telecommunication mast has been blast by the Boko boys. That means is anything happen to us on the road we are on our own. I started making prayers and blaming myself for embarking on this journey. My long throat for money no gree me stay back and enjoy the little I have. I met a an older fellow who happens to be a lawyer who told me all the havoc wrenched on the city. He said most Igbo guys are selling their properties. He even asked me to buy if am interested as properties worth 15m is now about 1.5m or less. undecided

Thank God we arrived Maiduguri safe. Right from Sir Kasim Road to Baga Road, you will notice either two things Military guys or people that look like Boko boys. I had to find my way back South cause my liver failed me this time.

Watch out for more pix

I dont know why we refuse to practice true federalism/regionalism. It really obvious we dont need same thing at same time. The FG is busy building dualizing this road when there is no one using it when most of the roads in the South are unmotorable. Traffic on Southern roads are too high to be ignored.

What do you mean no one is using it? that road connects major cities and you say no one is using it. na wa o. Be objective.

When I say no one is using them, I mean the traffic is so low compared to any FG road in the South. I dont see any urgency in dualizing those roads when passengers are stranded everyday along Benin/Ore road.

See Benin/Ore road below.

No people dont dont wee blood but something similar to that do happen in Maiduguri during heat. I wonder how people survive in that city because it like the city is not too far from hell.

I used to work with a bank in Maiduguri 2002 to 2005.after work there are loads of places to go ;GRA,unimaid,Ramat poly, maimalari barracks,Baga road and Baga fish mkt, custom area, london chinki,Lagos street,Bulumkutu area ,Post office is the city centre It was such a beautiful place. Saturdays when am off work I used to tour loads of cities and Villages around Borno,Adamawa,Yobe and even Taraba then.
In Borno state I can still remember lovely places like Biu,Mongunu,Gworza,Baga fish market... I remember entering Border town called Marwa ... And loads of other places that I cant remember now.
There used to be religious tolerance in Borno then because its a Xtian and Muslim state . Many southern Borno indigenes are Xtians.
Another thing I cant forget to mention, the native name of maiduguri is Yerwa and we call Maiduguri Home of Peace . I pray the Peace of God that passeth all understanding reign again in Borno state.

So you had the effrontery to take pictures at an army checkpoint. Be happy you weren't caught.
