Do you know? OAU believe their the best in Nigeria, and their products are good enough. OAU no longer accept 3rd class graduate applicants for msc after doing PGD even in OAU. If you hav your Phd elsewhere, unless foreign university, OAU will hardly hardly accept you for a lecturing job. whether first class or not, its difficult to get admitted into mphil in most dept in OAU, better apply for msc because they say mphil is for those with msc before. OAU new postgraduate policy says you cannot spend morethan 3yrs for masters, after 6semesters one can't round up, you pack up! OAU doesn't accept HND plus different professional qualifications or certificates for PGD how much more msc. OAU chemical engineering is pretty slow, i hope this new policy will help matters. OAU don't like admitting people jumping away from their first degree into another for msc. E.g from Bsc plant science to Msc Microbiology, Msc Microbiology to Biochemistry, Bed economics to bsc economics, unless in professional courses such as mba, managerial psychology where you will hav to do another mphil before PhD.
