In the recent past, students of external examinations have been performing below expectations, especially in English Language. To rectify this, a registered tutorial centre in ile-ife, Apex Tutors swung into action and embarked on a research to find out why more than 70 per cent of candidates perform poorly. WAEC-GCE, which is considered a more difficult and tasking examinations was chosen. Ogbosa Imafidon was enrolled for the examinations and Apex Tutors provided her with the three Ts (Tools, Techniques and Thrust) needed for the examinations. She was able to sit with adult more than twice her age and still got credit in English and passes in Economic and Chemistry. Ogbosa, 13, with registration number 5301105194, would have done better in Mathematics and other subjects but for ill health on the days of those papers, her friends and teachers disclosed. She sees mathematics as more interesting than English Language and she felt bad when she couldn't write Mathematics due to ill health. Ogbosa, currently in SS1, hopes to perform better in subsequent examinations. She said "You can make great success in examinations if you believe in God, yourself and your teachers because great teachers produce great students." In. A chat with the Director of the award winning tutorial centre, Dennis. Imafidon (APEX), he asserted that every child can achieve feats even better if given the right thrusts, tools and techniques which are readily available at the centre. Ogbosa's mother commended the management of Apex Tutr, adding that they can do more. It will be recalled that the tutorial centre, which is duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commision, CAC, and affliated to Excellence in Education (IEI), U.K, recently won the award of the best tutorial centre in Osun state. The citadel of learning also parades international students from countries such as Ghana and Botswana and has produced braniacs over the years. Most of it's teachers, majorly graduates of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, have authored books such as The New English Compass by Paul Akpomuje, which is one of the tools used in preparing Ogbosa and others for the examinations.
