Business Development Manager/Executive[center][/center]

Business development managers are responsible for developing the business side of a company and dealing with the numerous business opportunities which are presented to an organization throughout the year.
Business development managers help an organization become as successful as possible. These managers rely upon in-depth knowledge of business theories to allow enterprises to grow. They evaluate the current performance of a particular business and think about ways in which it should be changed in order for it to reach its full potential. They perform numerous different tasks but, most importantly, they perform thorough assessments of the current marketing opportunities and research the identities of specific target markets.
They perform market research, monitor various business activities, and become responsible for attracting new customers.
A registered Nigerian company seeks suitable qualified candidates for the position of a Business Development Manager/Executive. This position calls for a dynamic leader supporting business development, partnership management, marketing and communication.


Responsibilities:

 Oversee all project/sales and business development activities for the company
 Ensure sales revenue and profitability are in-line with company targets
 Key account management and penetrate new accounts
 Identify, organize, develop and implement effective marketing plans to achieve predetermined sales/projects
 Identify key growth sectors and implement strategic plans to develop new markets/customers
 Identify and resolve client concerns and enquiries
 Planning and follow-up on product presentation
 Establishing and maintaining good business relationships with customers/clients
 Overseeing existing customer/clients and promote sales volume
 Negotiate on new price and/or cost management
 Market research and development
 Prepare sales report and a variety of status reports, including activities, closings, follow up and
 Liaise with principles/partners for technical and customer fulfillment issues
 Keeping up to date with economic and business developments throughout the working day
 Keeping up to date with overall business trends
 Performing research into the market, customer trends, and competition in the market
 Using quantitative and qualitative techniques to collect useful information
 Deciding whether or not market research is useful and using it as necessary
 Preparing detailed business plans which covers relevant goals and objectives
 Looking after the company's financial resources and allocating them as appropriate
 Liaising with other professionals in the company and in other companies, including account managers
 Networking with employees from other companies and potential customers
 Attending workshops, conferences and trade fairs
 Working towards achieving coporate goals
 Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce stock
 Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

 Degree/Diploma in Marketing/Business/Engineering/Sciences or related field
 Sales/Marketing experience will be an advantage
 Result oriented with proven track record in sales, marketing or business development
 Pleasant personality with excellent communication & presentation skills.(Proficiency in other languages is an added advantage)
 Ability to conduct market/ competition analysis & research
 Ability to exhibit tact, diplomacy and creativity
 Ability stay up to date with economic matters
 Ability to stay calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines
 Ability to keep objectives and goals firmly in sight
 Ability to remain flexible and seek alternative options to problems
 Ability to carry out business development activities
 Ability to conduct demos & generating business through closures
 Ability to offer post sales support & upselling to existing accounts
 Ability to conduct client meetings
 Good knowledge in Engineering and Sciences is an advantage
 Must be Self-motivated and result oriented
 Must be Computer literate
 Must possess problem solving skills
 Must have a good grasp of numbers and the ability to write documents in a professional style
 Must possess organizational skills
 Must have good business knowledge and negotiation skills
 Must have a good business sense
 Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customers
 Must have good management skills and problem solving ability
 Must have a positive attitude
 Must have good negotiation skills and persuasiveness
 Must be initiative and enterprising
 Must be Trustworthy in handling confidential information with high level of integrity
 Must be Independent, resourceful and result oriented
 Possess own transport, willing to travel outstation & conduct client meetings

Applicants with more than 4 years sales experience with proven sales track record may apply for Business Development Manager Position. Fresh graduates without experience may also be considered for Trainee position.
