Just seeing ur quote. D boss(agentofchange1) has fone justice to it. But will upload a detailed(though lengthy) pix of wat i did

that's nothing .

.BTW: recheck ur solution on #2

z= 1+ i√3

z^8 = 256( cos 8Π/3. +isin 8Π/3) ....

( using De-moivre's theorem )

Ok boss. But actually De-moivre's theorem ends up giving up same answer as normal expansion .So it can be solved further than where you stopped. Will modify n upload wat i did. And tanx on d De-moivre's stuff, had to do some learning today.

Modified
Same answer as d previous.

gurus in the house pls i need ur help on this
1.solve the simultaneous equations for x and y
(a).log x 2 4 +log 2 y +5.=0 ,,xy=1/4
(b).express(√ 3+2√2) in the form √a+√b.(please note that the first square root sign covers the whole of 3+2√2)
(2) evaluate Z 8 where z=1+i√3.
(3)prove that tan 2A-tanA=2sinA/cosA+cos3A.
(4)find the value of sin-1 2x+sin-1 x for x=1/2 leaving your answer in radians
Hello boss, made a mistake with my signs earlier with regards number 2.check again cos i just replaced d old pix with d correct one .tanx n sorry 4 d error

Re: Nairaland Mathematics Clinic by Ajibade105(m): 6:50am On Apr 28, 2016
This is a tutorial questions and this must be done by only you. This group was created to help solve a problem that has been tried and...

Haven't said that, the person in need must upload his/her solution (s), then he/she can be guided on what to do.

My thought tho!

I can solve questions 1a, 2 & the last question
I've learnt d solutions u posted and I believe its correct (u knw, no lecturer will give u solutions here in my sch)
But I'm in need of num 4 solution badly. that one looks more confusing.

BTW, anyone here who can prove d equation of the binomial expansion through mathematical induction?
(I've searched d net and I don't understand d way they did it) and I bet this question is coming out in our exam

I represent titre with x because I don't have the titre sign on my phone.
.
1-cosx. 1-cosx
________ X. ________
1+ cosx. 1-cosx

1-cosx-cosx+cos2x
___________________________
1-cosx+cosx-cos2x

1-2cosx+cos2x
_________________________
1-cos2x

Recall that 1-cos2x= sin2x

1-2cosx+cos2x
_________________________
sin2x

1/sin2x - 2cosx/sin2x + cos2x/sin2x [dividing through by sin2x]

1/sin2x - 2. Cosx/sinx . 1/sinx + cos2x/sin2x

Cosec2x -2cotxcosecx+cot2x

Recall that cosec2x= 1+cot2x

1+cot2x - 2cotxcosecx + cot2x

1+cot2x + cot2x - 2cotxcosecx

1+2cot2x-2cotxcosecx

1+2cotx(cotx-cosecx)

2cotx(cotx-cosecx)+1

Proven!
