OLD SCHOOL Vs Modern ,skillful Artists Vs Lazy Artists Blinded With Money Making by BARRISTERS: 11:52pm On Jan 02, 2013
many artists of old school are very skillfull and got something to offer,

as i wacthed Dr moses uwaifo, at sevety something he still dazzles with his guitar strings, 'joromi' was the title of the song he carefully sang by introducing the sound with his guitar,(a popular song used for STAR LAGER advert), the original album was realesed in 1965, and the album 'joromi' still sounds with sense at 47.

Also Dr moses Olaiya, with his sax, at LTV when he staged his 50 yr on stage was skillfull and known with his sax.

King sunny Ade, a skillfull guitarist still dazzles with his dancesteps and still plays his guitar on stage in occassions, his first album Alaanu loluwa, realesed since 1966 still sounds fine.

Bright Chimezie 'okoro junior' his music filled with instrumentals are sweet to reckon with. such as 'respect africa' 'i got the rhythm'.

Onyeka Onwenu, 'one love' still remain a good hit till today.

Sir shina peters, Afro juju ace,1990 ..22yrs ago still sounds fine and can be used for any occassion

few old school mentioned among many,

what has happened to our music that upholds value? what we have NOW is noise! incoherent words! values suffer with these modern music! hell is let loose, and youths are out of the hook!

good, they make more money today, the flaunt money, but many of the so called modern musicians cannot play insruments like guitar, keyboard or sax, they write song for them, they program their beatings, guitar keyboard are directed without the knowledge of the so called musician, then what we see is to swag troussers and some demostrations that do not even explain the music but to form! good for them, its what they want.

i think there should be a level playing field here, while you have the hip hop and rap, then let reasonable musicians be, promote them so new artists who want the old school pattern will no be frustrated,

musicians like Lagbaja, Asa, shola allyson, and many others whose music are sanitised should be given a chance.
