i am doing this free tutorial to help those who are newbie or frustrated in internet business. i will be sharing some tips and giving out some materials all for free. so, i want you to comment to show interest so as to keep me motivated.

7 IMPORTANT FACTS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU START INTERNET BUSINESS

Quite a lot of people want to make money online. They start out by reading an advert in the newspaper promising that they'll make a certain amount of money, some stumbled on an advert online, others join in because they are jobless and do not have a source of income.

However, most individuals (and probably you) have not made a dime since they started. They've bought several reports, guru formulas, swipe file, video formula's etc.

And for some reason, in the hope to find answers, they keep on moving from one secret system to another. Trying to find that simple set-up that will help them to start making money overnight.

Heck, it could be the reason why you are on this forum. However, it doesn't matter what your background is, i can assure you that this thread will open your eyes to what you've been doing wrong and help you to do it right.

it will show you exactly where you should start and how to do it. So just read the entire thread carefully. Do not scan through, or else, you'll just end up not learning the rudiments and you'll go back to your normal life.

So i am going to start out by sharing with you, all the things you need to know first before you even try to venture into online business. Either you like it or not, what i'll say here are true and you can apply it for your own benefit or be sorry if you ignore it.

I'll choose each tip in and elaborate on it. Just watch out for this space.....and you'll be glad you did!

No1: The Internet is not a casino/lottery, its a platform

A lot of individuals approach me and ask me how they can "make money" on the internet. I simply replied by saying, i don't know how to make money on the internet, but that i know how to use thee internet as a tool to make money.

While the above statement might look a little bit confusing, its actually true. There is no money on the internet. The internet is just a tool that you can use to enhance the way you do business. The internet is not a casino or lottery where you can win money by luck or make money because some "guru" showed you the secret to making money or channeling the cash to you.

The funny thing is, thats how some newbies sees it. They think they can do some magic abracadabra, and walah....Money will flow to them. And they even go to the extent of believing that once they pay a certain GURU a certain amount of money, they'll get make some money as a result of it. If you've been to a lot of seminars or speak to individuals who are trying to make moeny online, you'll hear phrases like "i bought Mr Guru's ebook, he said his system can make me $10,000 weekly, but yet i am yet to make a dime".

While i understand that there are many fake Guru's out there (individuals who claim that they know, but in actual sense, they are idiots), the point is, the individuals who are looking to make money as a result of buying a Guru's ebook are simply idiots themselves.

A while back, an individual rang me and ranted about how he has tried to make money online, bought many ebooks and yet never made a dime. I asked him a simple question, "tell me 3 things you've done in the last 7 days to improve on your business". He couldn't give me a single answer.

The internet is not a lottery/casino that you keep trying, and hoping to be in LUCk one day that you'll win. It is a platform. A platform that can help you enhance your business. A platform that can help you sell a product, A platform that can help you reach a wider audience. That is exactly what it is. It is "in itself" not a money maker. It is simply a tool.

You can compare the internet to a "Newspaper". Can you make money on a newspaper? No! Can you advertise on your newspaper? Yes! Can you reach a wide audience with a newspaper? Yes! Can you make money on a newspaper without selling something? No!

That's how you should see the internet, but irrespective, the Internet is bigger. Bigger than newspapers/ TV combined. It is a technological tool. The more you realize this, the better you'll start learning how things work online.

How do i know that the internet is a tool? You have the Television right? Now....on the internet , you have Youtube.com

You have newspapers in real life (daily mail, guardian etc), online you have news websites like www.bbc.co.uk andwww.234next.com

In real life you have pen pals and address books, online we have facebook.com and myspace.com where you can connect to friends on the other side of the world etc.

Let it sink deep into your mindset. The internet is simply a platform. It is just a tool. It does not have money flowing through it (literarily), It does not have a stash of Billions kept in a safe deposit box that only some "Gurus" have access to it. It is simply a platform that is accessed by anybody!

Go back to the start of this article, ensure you read it all over again....its very important! This is the start of a long series, and it will help you understand a lot what took me 5 years to learn.... It will shorten your journey and it will help you start out as a newbie. before you go out there to buy another GURU's secret...ensure you read this section to the end. At least, by doing so, you'll know exactly what you are doing and why you are doing it and it will distinguish you from the individuals who are always whining about how much money they've lost. My job is to let you have access to what you need to know, your own duty is to let it sink deep and follow it.

TO SUCCEED OR MAKE MONEY ONLINE, YOU HAVE TO SELL SOMETHING

Often times, i get asked by a lot of newbies and individuals who want to make money how they can do so without selling something. They say please i don't want to sell anything, i just want the cash to roll into my account". I simply shake my head at their ignorance and just say pitifully, " i am sorry i cannot help you, if you are afraid or are not willing to sell something".

You need three things:

1. A product

2. Willing Buyers

3. A medium

Running a business on the internet is not magic. For you to become wealthy, you have to follow the laws of wealth transfer. The law of wealth transfer states that for you to have wealth transfer to you, you must give something in exchange for that wealth. What you give in exchange could be your knowledge, your product, your service etc.

if you look at the richest set of individuals today. I am talking of successful and rich people, they are individuals who sell:

a. Akin Alabi - This guy sells like crazy. He sells knowledge, games, etc

b. Dr Sunny Obazu - As a publisher, he sells his magazines, he sells lots of information products etc

c. Headmaster - He sells ebooks, he sells knowledge, he sells services

If i go to the big ones:

a: AY the comedian - He sells comedy. That guy is one of the craziest comedy marketer i ever know

b: AlikoDangote - Aliko sells food. he has a goal to put his product into every household in Nigeria

c: Mike Adenuga - He sells Oil, he sells credit through GLO etc. And just in case you think the guy stole money, Mike Adenuga (the Bull) started out as a cabby Driver and then went on to sell Lace Materials before he delve into oil business.


Now, you might think, those people don't know what it feels like to be a newbie. Infact, they don't know your predicament. The truth is, they don't have to know how you feel, they were once in your position. They were once newbies, they worked their way up the ladder. They made mistakes, learn from it and move on. They do not whine, they are not afraid to learn to sell, they sell, sell, sell and sell until they made millions.

If we look at the internet, its exactly same thing. You might say "Hey, i have used many website that don't charge me for their service, so what are they selling?"

A. Yahoo Mail - Many of you use yahoo mail for free right? And you think the service is free? In actual sense it is not! While yahoo allows you to use their email service for free, if you notice carefully, they always serve you adverts on your yahoo inbox. Those adverts are paid for by the company that offers them. So those company's pay yahoo to advertise to you...Yes, you the owner of the yahoo email box!

B. Facebook - While you use facebook to meet friends, find girlfriends (like some do) and connect with high school mates and friends overseas, the owner of facebook, who is the youngest billionaire anyway is raking in cash by serving adverts to you. These adverts are paid by other people who are targetting their products to you. So for example, i can advertise my product to all Nigerians on facebook! All i have to do is pay facebook.com to be able to do that. While you as asindividualusesfacebook for free, facebook earn money by selling your data to people like me to advertise to!

C - Nairaland - Nairaland is more than 5 years old. The site is owned by SeunOsewa right? The guy who lives in Ota Ogun state. The truth is that, Seun makes a killing on that website every month! While you sign up to Nairaland for free, SeunOsewa actually makes money by putting up adsense advert on that website. Seun has never disclosed how much he makes from Nairaland, however, i can tell you that he does $5000 sometimes in a month!

NOTE: I know a lot of individuals who attend N10k googleadsense seminar and think all they have to do is copy and paste 10 articles from ezine unto their and put adsense and they'll start making money. IF you still have that mentality, then you'll become poorer and poorer as you'l never make money this way. To be successful with adsense, you have to be an authority website pulling in massive content and traffic. A feat that cannot be achieved in 2 months.

Nairaland.com is 6 yrs old, BellaNaija is about 4 years old, LindaIkeji..com site is about 3 years old etc. The owners of these sites spend everyday adding content to their blogs and they do this on a daily basis and it took them time before they started making money! And by the way, Linda just bought a Totyota Camry 2008 (worth about 2.5 - 3 Million Naira)!

So that's it guys, for you to earn/succeed online, you need to learn the Psychology of selling. I personally have over 50 different ebooks on selling/marketing on my laptop that i consume on a daily basis. That is to tell you that i understand the concept and want to make use of it. Now, i forgot to add this to the No 2 above and i just need to tell you about it. If you are selling something, you HAVE TO sell something that people want, not what they need.

See, i created this trend to show you something you need. If you notice, i have NEVER sold anything to you. On this website, i do not intend to do that...well, maybe not at the moment, maybe i will at some point, but not now definitely.
But really, when i sell, i sell to make money. That is the only reason why i sell. I don't sell because i have passion for it, I don't sell because i am obsessed. I sell what people want. Same thing goes with other direct marketers like me.

Few months back, a young man sent me an email asking to do a JV with me. I personally don't do JV's as a matter of principle. I only sell my own stuff, because i believe more in what i create than what others create, afterall, i only sell what i have used and works for me. By the way, i digressed.

If you are not following me, you have to pay Attention RIGHT NOW! If you don't you'll miss something very important that might change the way you do business and sky rocket your earnings.

This guy wants me to help him sell a product on motivation. How to become a new you. He wants me to promote my product to my email list. Now, let me ask you...if i am to show you a product that will help you "change to a brand new you" or an ebook/CD that will show you "how you can move on to greatness", how much will you pay for it?

If i price this Motivational Ebook/CD N7,500 or N10,000 would you buy? I am absolutely sure you'll not even care to consider it. Now, why is this so? Its because, you are not really interested to become "brand new". Moreover, your pastor/motivational speaker will teach you all of these without even charging you a dime for it! I mean, all you have to pay is just your tithe and offering.

Seriously, you don't want to be motivated, you want to get real. You want something that can change your situation rightaway. Not something that will ginger you up and make you remain in your state after the entire motivation has sucked up!

Now, what you can sell is not just infoproducts. You can sell virtually anything online. I have spent over 2 months in the UK. English people are generally consumers. They are very good at buying stuffs online. They can go online, pay with their card and not even have to worry about what they've just done! I mean, Last week, i ordered a train ticket online, I even ordered for a product that will be shipped to my address within 3 days.

So it doesn't matter what you sell. Its not just infoproducts (even though i love them because thats what i am good at!). Heck, gbemiolaleru is a member of imclassroom and she sells kids clothing and she sells them using the internet.

What is important is. is it what people want? If it is what they want...then you'll sell.

Now, before i close up this section, let me add another analogy to buttress my point. now, you might say, it’s easy for you to say this, it’s easy for you to tell us all this, but it’s not practical. How do i know what people want? How do I know that individuals want what i want to sell?

It’s very simple. There are basically two ways to it:

a. You can Guess... yes, i mean, you can just throw a coin and flip it and hope that you are lucky. But guess what? the problem is that, you'll never be lucky everytime, so this method can make you unlucky so many times before you get lucky!. And really, you need to know that God doesn't throw dice.

b. You can ask someone who knows better: Yes, ask someone who knows better than you. Afterall, when it comes to the world of selling, you are very dumb. Trust me, if you think you are not dumb, then you are full of Sh*t. Yes, i am a christian,and you might think its weird of me to say Sh*t, but trust me, i am for real and i know what i am talking about! If you think you are smart when it comes to marketing, trust me you are the dumbest muther f**ckeri've ever seen. You can NEVER be as smart as the individuals who are your customer. If a customer tells you he wants a pink socks, and you are prospecting a red sock to them, then you are stupid!

I know i am dumb, that is why i ask my prospects what they want and then i provide what they want to them in a way that they cannot refuse it. How do i ask them? Did you ask me that? Well..maybeyou just did in your mind. As for me, its become second nature to me, but for the sake of making you understand this, i'll try to answer that.

You need to create a demographic of your perfect customer. Its very simple, dude! Pick up a piece of pen and paper, and then draw a smiley face on it! fixate your mind on that smiley face for few minutes, and ask yourself. If i am to target this particular "Niche", who will be my perfect customer?

For example, i am starting a new niche next month! My target customer are old Men. They are in the range of 60 - 70 years old and they must be retirees!

Now, for me to know what to promote to them in that niche, i will collect something i call the "Guinea Pig" Test! Yes, there is nothing called the "Guinea Pig" Test in Internet marketing.
I'll collect a list of 200 people and make them take my surveys. I can either do the survey on paper or use a free survey service like www.surveymonkey.com

why am i doing this? I am doing it because i want to know exactly what they WANT! I'll then use this survey to create/provide it for a fee and just provide it to them. Yes! that's what i'll do! And that's what you should do too.

Trust me, i have been learning a lot recently and i have to make some serious money! I have just shared with you one of the secrets i use. You didn't even have to download an ebook to see this. You can use this to make serious money, good for you! You can also decide to read this, look it over and just continue to the next thread. That's good for me too, because the less peope that use this strategy, the better it is for people like us!

Read the above again, re-read it....and post your questions. I didn't even edit any bit of this. I am writing it because i am in a VERY good mood today, and i am pouring my heart to you, same way a father will pour out his secrets to his son. Take heed to my word...and you'll never be broke in your life! I mean every word of it!

more on that as we continue with the lesson. i hope that has given you a hint on how to know what people want but i will talk more on the procedure as we move forward just ensure you dont miss out in any of this. beleive me this is the fundamental truth you need to know on internet business that will set you free from jumping from one website to another and buying one guru formula ebook or the other.
