I have a serious question 2 ask....some1 said u.i divides jamb score by 10 which is always 40 marks maximum and calculate d ssce result which is maximum of 60 marks....i.e..60:40....or on d other hand 50:50....through which they arrive at an aggregate of total 100 marks... Now this is my quest....will the p-u.t.m.e not be used in calculating d aggregate for candidates?...then what is now d essence of d p-u.t.m.e if it won't be used to calculate d aggregate?.....i don't understand it....hope sum1 could provide me a comprehensive answ...thanks in advance.. |

saleemema: well, I'm an aspirant. Last year, I applied for Health Education and got 214 in Jamb which was very far from ELD(240), and was shortlisted for post jamb. i wrote the post jamb and got 47, but unfortunately the cut off for my course was set at 50 which was also the general merit cut off. Once you got 50 you are in already, except if the cut off is determined by the number of candidates who obtain higher marks. But all the same, once you obtain 50 you are in but may be asked to change your course(s). What state are you from, you may want to ask: I'm from Ogun state(UI locality). Hope it helpsdnt get u, u mean u were shorlist despite d fact u didnt meet up wit eld? |

saleemema: eld was 227, and perhaps, i'm nt 4rm one. Ogun is nt an eld. Forget about course cut off, once you score above 200 you stand a better chance too. Could u believe that most of the newly admitted students never scored upto the stipulated cut off? I'm a living testimonyu re wrng guy, ogun is an elds, same geo- zone. |

U see,u.i admission is more or less in 2 folds....d first one is the post-utme call up a.ka. shortlisting and d real admission letter.. D jamb and/or o'level stuff is used 4 shortlisting d students dat wl b allowed to write d post utme...afta d post utme,admission is then given to pple according to their scores... D point is dat NOT ALL d pple dat chose u.i in jamb and had 200 or above would b given opportunity to write post utme...d few chosen ones wu write d post utme are guranteed admission so far dey have 50 or above in d post utme,although,it might nt b in their course of choice.... So,both d jamb/o'level and d post utme are essentials in u.i admission.... I hope my explanation is clear?? Other Bosses in d house can also help to give more clarity... Fynestboi: u re wrng guy, ogun is an elds, same geo- zone.elds is education less develop state.so if ogun state is part of elds d whole state in nigeria is as well elds,dont be deceive only d far nothern state and some state in the east and central nigeria occupy the group of elds.In south west states ogun states is one of those state that has the highest number of tertiary institution especially private university.In addition, south west state usually lead external exams like wassce,also consider the multitude of ogun citizen that are studying, it is incomperable to a state like sokoto and the rest.Elds cutoff are ususally lower bcause they want to encourage citizen from those state to read any course they which since they believe they are usually few. |
