Man who owes for sex Sent To Prison

There was drama at a Nigerian court in Lagos when an accused blatantly told the court that he had committed no crime, and  that his offence was that he failed to pay his accuser for a sexual service.

The man therefore told the Apapa Magistrate's Court that the charge against him be amended, to read: debt for sex.

This caused serious laughter at the court.

The 28-year old man, Raymond Jagadi, had gone to a hotel and had sex with a woman and refused to pay her N500 fee.

The lady, Sandra Okeocha raised the alarm after he refused to pay and alleged that Jagadi enter her room with criminal intention to steal her money.

He was arrested and charged to Apapa Magistrate's court with criminal intention and stealing.

Jagadi told the court that he was not a criminal, rather, Sandra was his customer whom he always patronised.

On that day, he said he went to Sandra's room for ‘short time’ sex  and promised to pay her later.

But Sandra insisted that he had other criminal intentions because she had never had sex with him on credit and he did not tell her before he slept her.

The police alleged that the offence Jagadi committed was contrary to section 284 of the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

He pleaded not guilty.

The presiding magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N30,000 with one surety in like sum. He was nevertheless remanded in Kirikiri prison pending when he would perfect his bail.
