Anybody that has watched all the matches played to far in the ongoing AFCON should worry about very low turn out of fans. Some stadia empty seats space are as vast as the ocean. I am watching a supposedly high profile match now between Ghana and Mali; i tell u all these empty seats are just embarassment to african footbal administration and events planning. What could be responsible for this? Poverty in the land or expensive ticket or poor organisation. This is really embarrasing judging by r pple troop out in EURO (equivalent of AFCON in Europe.

I think the main cause of the poor attendance is the relatively high prices of the tickets. I read somewhere that SAFA (South Africa's FA) had wanted to reduce the ticket prices, but CAF rejected the request.
Also, the cost of a hotel room in SA is sky-high.

Games are just way too expencive, CAF came to SA trying to make a killing in all aspect of the competition, Tickets selling included. The cheapest Tickets are few and they go for $30, on average, South Africans pay $6 for the local Leagues games, now they have to pay betwen $30 to $100

If this is true than CAF is run by complete idiots. They would have made more money by charging very low prices and filling the stadiums, than by charging high with very low attendance.

the organisation is a bit dumb. Ghana v Mali was a bit of a showpiece match on paper, yet it is on in the afternoon. Both matches involving the Ghanians have been afternoon games. today, Nigeria v Zambia is in the afternoon. Such games should be in the evening so that more people have a chance to watch them.

So they charge high prices and put the matches in the afternoon when people that are most likely able to pay will be at work.

And some of you wonder why I hate fucktards so much? undecided
