What legions of iPhone users have been waiting for for ages has finally arrived: apple yesterday announced details of the iPhone SDK which allows developers to make native iPhone apps

Now developers can churn out enterprise level software, native applications and fully hardware accelerated 3D games.

Major features include

1. Activesync Exchange: get MS Exchange email on your iphone, push email supported. Shell users can get Shell Email and calender on their iPhone if configured.
2. 3D hardware accelerated games
3. Lots of upcoming apps including AIM, Yahoo Messenger etc
4. New iphone firmware 2.0, includes App Store for download of iPhone apps wirelessly from the Apple store.

And much more.

bets of all, these features will work on existing iphones after the upgrade in June.

I bet Jobs hates the fact that he had to support MS Exchange to be on par with the Blackberry. . .

Yeah. . .but don't forget Jobs said Apple had been in talks with MS for almost a year before the announcement was made.
